Topic: Switch 2 Talk

Even if it doesn’t happen tomorrow or this month, I still expect sometime February - mid March.

Obviously the music would be something else and this could also add a filter for games available physically and digitally or digitally only, but this is what the Switch 2’s eShop needs to be.

OK, here is a wild theory, what if Nintendo orchestrated the leak, which had lead to a huge amount of media coverage so they can (shadow) drop the trailer without an announcement?

If it's not today, it would be good if it could all quieten down for a bit. The anticipation is rather distracting me from what I should be doing.

All the leaks surrounding what the console would look like and its name were correct, although the Switch 2 Direct is gonna be in April. Pretty much looks like a June 2025 release.

Alright, finally.

Presentation on April 2nd with a release...probably a few months after that?

I wouldn't be making predictions on release dates based on this. Remember the Switch had the equivalent of this teaser in late October followed by a mid-January presentation and a release in early March. Three months between teaser and Direct, one and a half months between the main presentation and the release

If the same happened here and this teaser is the starting gun? Teaser now, Direct in April, release in May. And the Direct is very early in April. I would agree that mid-April seems a tad tight if there's a Direct for this in early April. But I don't think it's ruled out, especially if they use some of the time they have between now and then to do more minor reveals. I certainly don't think this means June

Of course it might be June but.... we should probably let the last several pages on here and other threads teach us a lesson about being sure about such things

Thrilled to be wrong! Wow, really feeling the hype for new hardware I have to say. Probably going to be way off (as ever,) but am holding out hope for a June release at the latest!

The Nintendo of America channel also has the Canadian French, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese versions of the Switch 2 reveal as unlisted videos because NoA does not have separate channels for those regions.

This looks like the floodgates could open up.

So the dates for the experience your line up with Easter. They won't be releasing before then. But I would think the release isn't far behind that kind of marketing push. I'd pencil in mid-May

@skywake There was 49 days between the January trailer and release in 2017. 49 days after the 2nd April is Wednesday 21st May. I wonder if that should be considered the absolute earliest date of release?

@MarioBrickLayer May 21 would be the earliest, late June would be the latest if going for a release in the first half of 2025.

If it can be a longer gap it can also be a shorter gap. I was mostly talking about the dates here:

They seem to be through all of April and, excluding Seoul, end around mid May. So mid-May seems like a good time to release. If you're doing a marketing push like this surely you release not long after

Looks like that sound with the Joy-Cons snapping in might replace the iconic Switch click sound for Switch 2.

Now that everything about the design was correct, it’s still unknown if the hardware specs are also correct.
