I'm not too torn up over the fact that the physical cartridge is the Switch version that I'll have to upgrade, I just wanted the physical box for my collection.
You really shouldn't be torn up over this since the Switch 2 physical version requires a 12 GB update anyway, as I mentioned above. 😅
Well, at least the game IS on the cartridge. You're just updating for the Switch 2 fidelity. I see that as a very different situation that a straight-up Key Card release.
With the game you can task Villagers to help automate task like farming and stuff like that but do you ever get to see them do the task? I’ve seen screen shots of them doing said task on other platforms? Did they disable the animation for Villagers this on NS2 port?
@AitoHikari Yes, you do see your villagers perform tasks on Switch 2 as well. They're not doing it all the time though, but just go to your development area and wait for a while, they'll show up. I was just playing the game 10 minutes ago and watching them work on the field.

I was about to say exactly the same thing, it's kind of cool, but half the time you'll almost want to shove them out of the way as you can do tasks so much faster yourself.
@Polvasti okay that’s good! Just never seen them do it. Also dose not help that I can also just do it my self faster xD and in joycon mode using mouse mode for farming is super quick with just press hold drag to water and pick up all crops in seconds. So that dose not help with being able to see then if the work is already done.
@AitoHikari Yeah, if you do all the work on the fields right after getting up in the morning, I think the villagers might not show up to farm them since there's nothing left for them to do. 😅 Which is actually a cool little realistic detail on the developers' part.
With villagers in terms of planting seeds, I'm guessing I need to place the seeds they need to use within the storage chest in order for them to have access to something to plant?

I have no idea, TBH. I always put all the materials etc. I don't need to carry with me in the box, dunno what would happen if I'd have the seeds on my person.
I think they use whatever seeds are in storage, but I’m curious as to how the villagers decide which seed to plant. I’ve been selling off my level 1 seeds if I have level 2 seeds available but I don’t know if they would prioritize higher level seeds. They definitely prioritize seeds that grow well in the town’s season, but I don’t know if they would plant seeds for other seasons at all, even if that was all that was there.
So what's the verdict? Is it a fun game? Is the combat smooth, the world interesting? My main concern with a game like this is that they've become a bit overwhelming with too much stuff to do. Farming, crafting, fighting, exploring, socializing... starts to feel more like a chore rather than a relaxing gaming session.
@rallydefault I haven’t played any of the other games, but in terms of this one as it is, I really like it! It’s a bit different from your normal farming sim, especially in how it handles seasons and the village system is pretty cool.
I’d definitely recommend it. On the NS2, it runs and looks great. I would definitely say give it a go I’m loving it and definitely gonna look into the other in the series now! I really hope other farming games steel how they use the Switch 2 mouse mode! It’s super fun for farming and makes simple task quick and easy! And the how the game drips feeds you all the systems is nice and slow allowing you to take it at your own time helps with not feeling overwhelmed with all the systems.
The NS1 version, from what I’ve seen, works okay looks a bit blurry and has the usual Switch 1 lag.

That's the whole part of the appeal of these kind of life sims, that you're not just doing one thing but various different things the character would do in their "real" life. To me it doesn't feel like a chore, quite the opposite, since you're not forced to repeat the same couple of activities over and over again throughout the whole game, but instead you can choose how to spend your time.
I get that this kind of gameplay is not for everyone, and it might feel overwhelming, but I have to say that in this game the developers have made all of these daily activities remarkably smooth and easy. They've done quite a lot small design choice to reduce the mechanical tedium of repeating various gameplay actions as much as possible... So, for example, you don't feel like you're just doing the same exact buttons presses to perform the same water/harvest/plant routine every day, like in some farming sims. As far as sim games go, Guardians of Azuma feels quite effortless and fun to play.
When it comes to houses within villages, at the end of the day, you get the report It told me I did not have enough houses for villages. What does this mean?
How do I know what village needs the housing? Is there a way to see how many people don’t have homes, or how many free spots I have left before I need to build more?

It's the third village that doesn't have enough you'll notice it says 5/6 if I'm reading it right you've got 6 people and only 5 houses, I think. Try building one there and see if it helps.
Absolutely love this game. The switch version plays well on switch 2 so that will last me until the switch 2 version goes on sale. My only gripe is the Summer village is so small. I love that Sakuna is in this.

18 hours into this now , really really enjoying it, can't decide who to romance though, who is everyone else woowing
I just started dating Kurama. I also really like Kai. Actually I like all the romance options in this game, although I think there are some characters I haven't met yet.
I think it's really stupid that Cuilang and Pilika are locked behind paid DLC, there was no reason to do this.
