No, haven’t had either of those. I like to think I’m pretty sensitive to visual stuff, but some people on this forum make me think I’m not lol
@Tay32111
Yea. It’s just an understanding that you’re always taking a little roll of the dice no matter what you’re buying, big or small. Defects and such happen, but the company will (generally) make you whole if it wasn’t something you did.
I got mine on launch night, so it should be a prime candidate for any and all of the issues, but I haven’t had any.
@FishyS I wonder why im seeing all these issues, but so far everyone who has the Switch 2 doesn't seem to be having these problems
The internet is good at amplifying negative experiences. It's still extremely rare to land a console with defects. The numbers are on your side to landing a solid console. And Nintendo likely won't update the console hardware until two years after launch - that's their pattern.
I personally prefer to buy a console from a physical store so it's easier to return the console if I happened to discover a defect. I got a switch 1 and launch, and a switch 2 at launch.
I had 2 bad problems with 2 consoles in the past and I sent 1 console to Nintendo 10 times within 1 year due to "THEIR STUPIDITY" and it had a lot of issues i had to repair myself since Nintendo refused to touch it.
I attempted to replace a battery in the 2nd switch console i owned and I ended up breaking the battery connector that's shouldered onto the motherboard.
I currently have a "Animal crossing switch edition" that I picked up from best buy in 2021 and it still works perfectly today
@FishyS i just watched a YouTube video where someone sold his Switch 2 a month ago and put a lot of things in a 23 minutes video that sounded so bad about the Switch 2.
Now I don't know if I should wait for the next Switch 2 console to be released, or just get one now and be happy with it.
Apparently he was mad how the console was playing 3rd party remastered games that were playing poor quality in hand held mode
He was also angry with the Game Key Card situation, etc.
For me I really don't care about lot of 3rd party games.
I mostly enjoy Nintendo's first party Games (Zelda, Mario, and even Kirby Forgotten Land, etc).
As long as Nintendo promises they will keep all of their First Party games (Full Game" on cartridges instead of game key cards, that's all I care about.
Yea If I do see a Fun game that's only available on the game key cards then sure I'll get it.
But I also do have a PS5 so if I see a 3rd party game on Game Key Cards on Switch 2 and PS5 has the Full Game on Discs, then I will skip the switch 2 and get the PS5 version (unless its a really fun game).
But for me my biggest concern is will Nintendo keep putting their first party Full games on cartridges or will they switch to game key cards.
For me I don't take my current switch anyware, I only play it in dock mode.
I do wish the system storage is bigger but it is what it is.
What do you think about all of this?
Do you think this would be a bigger problem down the road?
@Tay32111 I think you should at least, not watch people who have sold their switch 2 because like... they no longer have the thing to really talk about it. Everything is now just hearsay and their own biases.
(Also lmao on the whole, "wow it sucks in playing on handheld mode" because... it's not? Like, I'm using my Switch 2 a lot more than Switch 1 because it's just really nice.)
On the overall side, I think you should try to pick and choose the youtuber you watch, because there's a lot that's really just making grievances without regards if it's true or not. Nintendo and Switch 2 are people's favorite thing to flame on in recent years, and the ragebait videos rack up millions of views.
So from that extrapolation, and how you can still download updates on 3ds as well, it all definitely should still work and you can redownload GKC in the future
On graphics it all depends on how the company program it, so it's always good to check videos online on how it looks. Not their opinion, just how it looks so you can personally think about your own opinion.
(Personally the handheld mode looks incredibly fine to me I don't do any docking thiugh so I don't have any opinions on it)
But my old Switch (even though it had a lot of issues, and Nintendo replaced it 10 times in 2020), I was playing it in handheld mode just fine.
After I played it I put it in the carrying case and took it to my grandma's house to play it.
As soon as I took it out of the Case the LCD screen wouldn't turn on but I could hear the audio.
So I dont know why the LCD screen broke that fast as I had a screen protector on it and inside its case like I always put it in.
Me and my friend tried to replace the LCD screen and I almost had it repaired but i damaged the battery connector that's shouldered on the motherboard
So I brought a new switch (in 2021) and I only play it docked.
Since Nintendo refused to "Fix" my consoles like they "agreed" too, then told me I can no longer send the console back as all the consoles i had sent was in "working order"
But they're the ones who sent me consoles that were in bad condition
.
So I won't be playing the Switch 2 in handheld mode a lot.
@Tay32111 that's very unfortunate. I'm not sure what happens either since my Switch V1 (got it first year) was still running too till I sold it just last week.
