@Tay32111 So.. I just watched that video. It has a slightly misleading title but what the person says in the video is totally accurate - Nintendo stated that they would prioritize software for Switch 2 and that Switch 2 would be Nintendo's main focus. Nowhere in that video do they even speculate when Nintendo might stop making Switch 1 hardware. Not being the focus is not the same as 'stopping hardware production' and definitely doesn't imply any specific date such as 2026. This statement of Switch 2 being the main focus was actually part of the exact same Nintendo statement that they would keep selling Switch 1 if there continues to be enough people who want to buy it.

Thank you for sharing the video; I think that clears up the confusion. This video didn't speculate but I'm guessing other videos took the same information and speculated that Nintendo would stop making Switch 1 hardware soon. My personal guess is that even Nintendo hasn't decided yet and is just waiting to see how hardware sales trend.

The guy in that video isn’t bad or anything, but he’s just theorizing production of Switch 1 will end in the near future due to the quick adoption of the S2.

Nintendo has not stated they are ending production by the end of 2026.

@rallydefault well there are other videos where people are saying the same thing.

I even came across a friend of mine who worked at Nintendo and he heard the same thing where it will end production in 2026.

I think Nintendo may continue making games for the Switch 1 but they may stop producing the hardware

@Tay32111 You don't look at other random people, you look at what the company is doing. Especially when they have stated it in plain, clear language during an investor meeting

Uh huh.

They’re gonna stop it at some point, obviously. Just wait for them to make an announcement.

Classic

I mean this whole discussion is moot anyways given that cross-gen compatibility is deeply embedded into what the Switch 2 is. And even if you're one of those keyboard warriors upset about Switch 2 editions and the way Switch BC is handled there's also no particular sign that they're going to stop releasing Switch compatible software anytime soon. To the point where the continued decent support of the Switch is often the biggest stick people to use to dismiss the Switch 2!

Nice!

Age of Imprisonment is gonna go down as one of the most underrated games on this system. And it has so much content. So much fun to play!

rallydefault

Tay32111

@rallydefault I don't think so.

Age of imprisonment is going to be a top seller since we don't have any "NEW" Zelda games for the Switch 2.

I really think Age of imprisonment will be a a good Zelda game

@FishyS the only thing that I am worried about is the spring inside the game card slot.

It makes a small noise when I reject a game

Yeah, it's a fun game but it didn't get much attention I feel. It barely passed the million sales mark at the start of 2026 apparently. Perhaps it will get DLC and rekindle or naturally become an evergreen game, but I'm a little worried it will just drown under all the early-gen releases.

@FishyS I hope so.

I had played the Hyrule Warriors age of the Calamity and loved it but the end is hard for me.

I can't wait to play the age of imprisonment.

I also can't wait for their next Zelda game on Switch 2.

@FishyS I just hope that the game card slot doesn't wear out anytime soon.

I noticed the spring makes a small noise when rejecting a game card.

My old switch makes a small noise when removing a game card but not as noticeable with the Switch 2.

I did purchased the 2 year accidental Squad extended warranty so if anything happens I can always get it covered.

@FishyS what game are you playing currently?

I just got the Zelda Breath of the wild Nintendo Switch 2 edition.

I have it on the original switch but I wanted the switch 2 edition for the high resolution and the use of the app.

If you haven't played the switch 2 edition of Breath of the wild, I highly recommend it, is so much better.

P.s don't forget to use the app

@Tay32111 I'm back to playing some Pokemon Z-A again.

I haven't played Breath of the Wild Switch 2 edition yet but I really should at some point.

@FishyS ya. Make sure to use that app.

It helps you 100% the game.

I had completed all Shrines and got that done.

But I had trouble finding the Krok seeds as they are too many of them.

The app would show me where anything is at.

So that's a great edition
