Topic: No YouTube on Switch 2

Or any other media it seems like, anyone know if a fix is coming for this/if it's likely to be fixed anytime soon.
I know we won't get a browser as that kinda opens up the floodgates, but it would be nice to just take a break from the gaming once in a while with a video.

Maybe they are negotiating with Youtube to get some of the advertising revenue generated or maybe they just don't want people watching videos about how to mod their Switch 2

That was announced when they posted Compatability List for the first time, now we need wait untill Google releases fix for it. When they announced it that it will have Start-Up Issues I thought we just having hard time to turn on YT on NS2 and we be able to use it when we finally be able turn on, but they straight up blocked YT until it's fixed.

Didn't think I was overreacting, am I?.. just thought it was an interesting topic for discussion that's all.

This actually sucks, as I've watched a lot of Youtube on my OLED Switch, since it has a bigger and better screen than my cellphone, and I was expecting to do the same with Switch 2. If you get stuck in a game, it's pretty convenient that you can access playthrough videos on Youtube on the same device. I hope Nintendo fixes this soon.

Do you guys remember the debates we used to have on this stuff all those years ago about the Switch 1 not having most of the media apps?

Those were the days.

Furious this wasn't straighten out prior....got stuck pixels on my switch 2 like loads of other people and want to run youtube unstick pixel videos. It's driving me crazy having a stuck green pixel right in the middle of my display......ruining my experience .....

I know a switch friend and NL user<3 that has 9999 hours. That's not a judgement, as I have a ridiculous number of hours in a few games. But it is amusing to see they maxed out the hours.😁 My Roku youtube app hours are probably pretty high.

Must be a licensing dispute, as there's no reason, I would think that the app on Switch wouldn't just play on Switch 2 without a native Switch 2 version.
Hopefully it's added soon.

It's be a week and a half and this still hasn't be fixed... I guess it's not a particularly high priority for either Nintendo or Google?

That "soon" is now almost three months, and the app still isn't working on the Switch 2. I wonder why it's taking so long, you'd think it would've been easy to fix?

Maybe they don't have a dev kit? :-/ Considering they're failing to get them out to all the game developers who want one right now they're probably not gonna prioritise a streaming service. Kind of a shame as it makes for a very nice tablet with that stand.

It's a GAMES CONSOLE why do we need any apps on it?

It's not unthinkable, but it sure is funny. It's a game console.

The whole "everybody should be able to do whatever they want with whatever they want" thing is so tired. It's unrealistic and dumb. My sister used to order chicken tenders at our local Mexican restaurant. I know what I'm talking about lol
