@Waveboy I mean it doesn't have to take me playing it to understand why it won't overtake traditional means of gaming. VR's sales speak for themselves. Especially when it comes to the sales of devices like the PSVR2, which aren't really doing too hot.
On top of this, like many others brought up- there's motion sickness involved. I'm someone who will get motion sick in a car if I stare at my phone for too long. I used to be able to game while in a vehicle, but it got to a point where I genuinely can't do that without feeling nauseous. Personally for me, I'd rather stick to a medium I know I can play for hours without feeling like I'm going to lose my lunch, and I feel like that's a thing a good amount of consumers agree with.
I also just don't think 3rd person really functions in a way that makes the game interesting to play. I don't really want a future where I can play minecraft on my table, or move around to look at a small version of the pokemon world sitting on furniture. I don't want a bird's eye view of the game world that I can freely move around in by standing and stepping around it. I just want to play games as they are now. In the medium they're in now.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
It's interesting that there hasn't been an announcement so far. I doubt Nintendo would just shadow-drop the trailer, given they never tend to do that with their hardware. Given we haven't heard anything about Switch 2 today- I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we pretty much aren't going to get the reveal.

@VoidofLight With that, looks like nothing related to Switch 2 will come this month. Theyâll probably say something in February unless theyâre waiting until after the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.
...but so many media outlets seem so sure I'm wilingl to go along for the ride (just this once.)
That's just it. Right there. I keep seeing this sentiment.
We're so close to the promised reveal that the media outlets have nothing to lose by presenting any loosely credible rumor at this stage and pushing it as far as they can in terms of articles. No-one's going to start boycotting an outlet because they pushed this Nate rumour, they're just going to moan about it, then keep on visiting and posting, hour after hour, until the next loosely credible rumor comes along, knowing that it is just a matter of weeks now until we'll definitely have something real.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
All the leaks surrounding what the console would look like and its name were correct, although the Switch 2 Direct is gonna be in April, so theyâre trying to do a similar timeframe as the original Switch. Pretty much looks like a June 2025 release.
Remember all the people saying there is absolutely no way itâll be called Switch 2. They all believed because Nintendo never used a number before, itâll 100% be called Super Switch. Good times.

@MrCarlos46 Yeah thatâs true. Iâm just glad they did the right thing. I guess they really did learn from the Wii U fiasco.
Now itâs all official, how long until third party starts to announce their games (the ones that wonât be included in the showcase Nintendo will have in April)? I assume theyâre now free to announce their games right?

The next Mario Kart looks great (DK aside). That being said, I don't think this was a good choice for Switch 2 reveal. I think 3D Mario would get a lot more attention and hype than a new Mario Kart. Hopefully we here more about this and 3D Mario on Mario Day!
MY JAW JUST DROPPED. They actually revealed it and all the leaks and the console name were right all along. So cool itâll be backwards compatible with previous Switch games, but itâs disappointing they said some certain games will be unplayable on it.

If youâre curious, the character in my PFP is Flippy from Happy Tree Friends.

Now with all the design and hardware leaks being correct, weâre still not sure if the specs leaks (CPU, GPU, RAM, space, etc) are also gonna be correct, but itâs likely.
