Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@IceClimbers Pokopia is the sole exception here, but it's not my genre so I'm hesitant to buy in. I may consider it later, but only at a discount (and obviously digitally because I'm not supporting the GKC nonsense). So again, still nothing to play here.

@TrustMeNot There's been plenty of times in the 2nd half of the Switch's lifespan that the earnings report has come along and the known upcoming lineup is very limited. Sometimes there's been a general Direct very close by (e.g. February 2022), sometimes there's been a general Direct announced further in advance on the day of the earnings report (e.g. May 2024) and sometimes the future of general Directs in terms of official announcements is unknown (e.g. May 2023).

Considering Pokopia turned out to be a massive system seller and the Galaxy movie will no doubt do very well, I think the 3rd outcome is most likely. I also think Tomodachi Life will sell well though it's very clear I was wrong in predicting it would outsell Pokopia.

I wouldn't expect a Direct until summer. We already knew the entire lineup for 1st half of the year aside from Yoshi's release date (which we now have). Any Direct before then would just steal thunder from the summer Direct, as everything would be for 2nd half of year anyways or 2027.

Anything can happen- never rule things out completely. But I wouldn't expect it given the H1 lineup is already established.

Then I guess, don't play anything ya know? If you can't find anything to play and have finished all your backlog, maybe it's time to pick up another hobby besides just video games.

Only so many new games can release at once. And I doubt anyone alive likes every single game. Yet everyone else seems to manage fine.
