@Grumblevolcano I think whatever happens on MAR10 will probably determine how many general directs for the remainder of the year ( 1 or 2).
I bet option 2 (as of today) is most likely (plus MAR10 presentation and Pokemon presentation).
I think Mario and Zelda announcements will be held for full 1st party directs. So there should be at least one big direct this year (except MAR10 and small updates to Nintendo Today).
Yeah I also agree Option 2 is the most likely. I'm guessing the next full General Direct is in June with game specific Directs and/or Nintendo Today announcements in the meantime. We have a clear enough picture of the first half of the year, they just need to drop some dates. They can do that with quick announcements here and there. But we don't really know much of anything for the second half (we have a few games that could slot in to 2H, but there'd still be multiple gaps). That would warrant a June Direct, I don't think we're waiting until September, they should have multiple games to announce for the Fall. Our best hope for anything remotely substantial before June is if they do a MAR10 Direct covering games like Mario Wonder S2E, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, DLC for games like MKW and Mario Tennis Fever, and ending off with a 3D Mario announcement. But other than that what we see is pretty much what we get until June, with the only major announcement being the expected Gen 10 Pokemon games on the 27th.
This is entirely a gut feeling, but I think there's a chance they might announce something at the anniversary of the big Switch 2 presentation (April 2nd) and/or the anniversary of release (June 5th).
The Mario movie is early April just like the last Mario movie. Last time we then had a big Mario announcement in the June direct. I feel like that is at least possible to happen again.
I went from "oh wow, that's cool" to "well that's a bit lame isn't it" very quickly when I realised that these Pokemon games were $30AU each rather than just being on NSO. I sure hope that all of the people who have argued that NSO sucks and Virtual Console was a better model are happy with this. Because if they aren't then I wonder what it was they even wanted......

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
@skywake They didn't know what they wanted, only to be contrary to what was happening.
Virtual Console was bad it should be a subscription. Then it was subscriptions are bad they should be piece meal purchases. Now it's back to piecemeal is bad.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@RobLife1 Maybe the Pokemon Presents is only about Gen 10 like what Pokemon Directs used to be about and over the coming week they reveal the other news. For example:
Friday - Fire Red and Leaf Green for Switch 1
Monday - Colosseum and/or XD for GCN NSO (+ Nintendo Music)
Tuesday - Pokopia trailer
Wednesday - Legends Z-A final update + more Battle Club seasons
@Grumblevolcano That would be a cool way of doing it, gives everything it's moment in the sun. Although I would prefer just a big blow-out in the Presents.
I, for one, am ecstatic that I don't have to keep paying for NSO to have access to a classic Pokémon game that only costs $20. I will definitely be picking up LeafGreen (since I have always played "second versions" of the games whenever I can), perhaps even on launch day, which I have actually never done for a game before.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons

Nintendo has got to reveal some games and drive some momentum soon.
Mario Tennis on the Wii U sold more during its first week in Japan than Mario Tennis Fever did.
This is a concerning sign.
@Haruki_NLI Different people. I always preferred virtual console and buying the games I am actually interested in to keep. Over time it's also significantly cheaper. I loathe subscription services.
@Uncle_Franklin wow, that's rough! It's a really good game, sad to hear it's more or a less a flop — though if I had to guess, that's largely due to awful marketing lol
Huh, Pokemon on the Switch! I would be excited, but they're not on NSO like I assumed.... Which means that I am sticking to my rule, which is "No Pokemon unless it has Spheal, Smoliv, and Snorlax." I know very little about the series, but I know these games don't have those! I guess it's cool for those who want it, tho, even if it's strange.
