I just want a September Direct at this point. I do find it interesting that we seem to have a lot that's still coming in 2024. I think I've said it here before, but I really don't think the Switch is going to have a software drought like other home consoles before it. Those had handheld games to supplement the schedule. The Switch is just the Switch.
Plus we still don't know anything about these possible titles.
Metroid Prime 4
Peach Game
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Switch
The Rumored FE4 Remake
Possible TOTK DLC
Splatoon 3 DLC
Well this is certainly an uh.....interesting development: a portion of today's Pokemon Presents appears to have used a section from a fan-made remix of the Area Zero theme 😬 You have two of the best composers in the business in Toby Fox and Go Ichinose and you didn't bring them on make a short trailer-fied version of the most iconic song in the game?
@IceClimbers It's a difficult one. The current setup for known Nintendo IP DLC is:
August 30th - Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Rayman DLC
September 13th - Pokemon Scarlet/Violet The Teal Mask DLC
2023 - MK8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 6 DLC
Winter 2023 - Pokemon Scarlet/Violet The Indigo Disk DLC
TBA - Splatoon 3 Side Order DLC
MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 6 is probably November given they chose to release wave 5 in July. As for Pokemon, both parts are being equally promoted which is different to how they approached Sword/Shield (initial reveal had both, then part 1 only for several months and then part 2 close to part 2's launch) so I get the impression The Indigo Disk is probably November/December like @Fizza suggested in the Splatoon 3 thread.
So given all content during a Splatoon season is added the day before that season begins, it feels either we're going to have a packed DLC lineup for August/September, a packed DLC lineup for November/December or Side Order releases on February 29th.
@VoidofLight i am a content creator, sadly i had to watch this presentation not matter if they are good or not, since i need to inform my followers, if anything major was show here or not.
September direct is inevitable if you ask me, but will probably be lighter on new first party games aside from Prime 2 being potentially shadowdropped. I’m still excited though since there’s a lot of previously announced games and dlc I’m excited to hear more about, including
More Mario Wonder info
More Mario RPG info, I think they may have some new content for this one up their sleeve since the file size is massive and the current cover art is way too bland to be final (I know it’s a reference to the original but still)
Splatoon 3 Side Order
First look at Mario Kart DLC wave 6
Princess Peach game (though they could hold off on this one. I think the theories that this game is next gen or cross gen hold some water due to how weirdly vague they were in the announcement)
Those ever-rumored Zelda Ports (now would be the time if Grubb is to be believed)
New Amiibo (I’m really holding out for Sora and Deep Cut to be happening)
AND, since there are no other big new first party games, this could be where we see Prime 4 at least teased with a release window, since it was promised for Switch and the “successor next year” rumors are intensifying. Could also be cross gen if the graphics are showcase worthy which, if they’re a step up from Prime Remastered, probably are.
@Noble_Haltmann I don’t think Nintendo will announce any new Zelda releases this year. They have Tears of the Kingdom already to cover this years release for the franchise.
I think Metroid Prime 4 will be kept for a showing once the next console is revealed so Nintendo can show off the gameplay in the best way possible.

I don't think Prime Remastered would've been released in February if Prime 4 wasn't somewhat near. Still think it'll be a 2024 release but when in 2024 depends on whether Prime 2 and 3 are remasters of the scale of Prime 1 or a bundle release like Pikmin 1+2.
In both outcomes I'd guess there would be a shadow drop in the September general Direct (either Prime 2 Remastered or a Prime 2+3 bundle) with a December physical release and Prime 4 releases before new hardware comes out. In the case of both Prime 2 and 3 being remastered, Prime 3 Remastered would also release before Prime 4.
Given it's been a long time since the last new 3D Mario (October 2017), Prime 4 being crossgen would probably cause it to get overshadowed by 3D Mario meanwhile if timed right Switch only wouldn't be overshadowed by anything.
The next Nintendo Direct is at 90% next month. Not really an hard guess since there has almost always been a Direct every September anyway, but I do wonder if there will be any new first party announcement in it.... or finally seeing Metroid Prime 4 resurfacing again...
I'm looking forward to September's Direct but I'm not expecting any major news to drop like the Switch's successor. The holidays are coming up. Nintendo will want to push the Switch for as long as it can and if everybody knows the Switch 2 is coming soon, it'd hurt sales immensely. I can however see a price drop for Switch being announced.
As for games: more news on previously announced ones, and perhaps one or two smaller title reveals like a new Mario Party or Kirby spin-off, something like that and perhaps a remaster of an older game like Prime 2 or Kid Icarus Uprising.
@FragRed I think these ports are a weird case since they’ve seemingly been sitting on this one for years and the switch’s lifecycle is about to end, but now that you mention it an early 2024 release does seem more likely. I do think we’ll see it announced in September though.
I totally agree that they’ll wait for switch 2 advertising to properly show off Prime 4, I was thinking we’d just get a little tease that maybe gives a small peek at the new planet or a key plot point. They could totally milk the hype on this one for a full year if they wanted.
I'm very much with @Aioniomios on this one: all a September Direct would need for me to consider it a success would be more NSO stuff and some Gamecube/3DS remasters (oooohhhh you want to give us TTYD HD soooooooo baaaaaaaad Nintendo....). I'm very satisfied with what we currently have/what's coming up over the next 4 months (can't wait to play through Pokemon DLC and Super Mario RPG!) so anything that might crop up in a September Direct would basically just be icing on the cake.
besides I already got my two biggest announcements earlier this year so I really can't complain about not getting exactly what I want for the rest of the year XD

Start with Pokemon Scarlet/Violet The Indigo Disk (gives release date)
More info on Detective Pikachu Returns, SMB Wonder, Super Mario RPG (though I'm not really sure what else can be said about Super Mario RPG)
MK8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 6 fully revealed and Booster Course Pass 2 announced, more info on Splatoon 3 Side Order (if not released before the Direct)
Prime 2 Remastered or Prime 2+3 bundle as a shadow drop, physical release in December
Prime 4 closes the Direct for a 2024 release (September 2021 Direct revived Bayonetta 3 and September 2022 Direct revived Pikmin 4)
Luigi's Mansion 2 given an early 2024 release but no sign of the Peach game
TotK amiibo given a release date but no sign of TotK DLC, XC3 amiibo given a release date
1-2 1st party unannounced games for 1st half of 2024
NSO is missing from the Direct outside of Booster Course Pass Wave 6 (much like in June, there's still quite a few NSO games from the September 2022 and February 2023 Directs missing)
Usual varied selection of 3rd party support
It's a weird one regarding NSO, the missing games are:
Mario Party 3 (N64)
1080 Snowboarding (N64)
Excitebike 64 (N64)
Harvest Moon 64 (N64) [Japan Direct]
Golden Sun (GBA)
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror (GBA)
F-Zero Maximum Velocity (GBA)
Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (GB) [Japan Direct]
At the current rate of NSO releases, that feels like the rest of 2023 sorted outside of 2 Mega Drive batches (September, December) and a surprise NES/SNES/GB batch which features the Japan exclusive game. Then as January appears to be Microsoft NSO month, we get something like Banjo-Tooie or Perfect Dark which would tide the service over until the February 2024 Direct.
