I think they'll do these and then stop:

  • Metroid Prime 2 (+ the Wii game Metroid Prime 3)
  • Luigi's Mansion
  • Bringing back Super Mario Sunshine in some form (probably a re-release of 3D All Stars)
  • Wind Waker HD + Twilight Princess HD

But I'd love to see other 1st party GCN stuff as well like:

  • Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (+ the Wii game Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn)
  • F-Zero GX
  • TTYD
  • Pokemon Colosseum + XD Gale of Darkness
  • Star Fox Adventures + Star Fox Assault
  • Kirby Air Ride

Regarding stuff like Double Dash, Mario Party 4-7 and Melee I'd prefer its content added to the Switch equivalent instead (e.g. MK8 Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Smash Ultimate).

@Fizza The Direct gave that impression as it was easily strong enough that it could've had an E3 presence with a cool looking Mario themed booth. Nintendo choosing to not be part of E3 this year when they had that strong of a 2nd half of 2023 lineup made it seem clear that problems with E3 itself was the reason why Nintendo dropped out, not Nintendo's upcoming lineup.

If we are all throwing out the GameCube games we want remastered, I’d like to request Eternal Darkness!!

@FragRed Imagine if they put out a tweet on Halloween night that simply states:

'Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem HD is available now on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99'.

The amount of chaos something like that would cause would be INCREDIBLE.

Geoff keighly is having a song and dance back at his house right now reading the e3 news

But will summer game fest ever truly be as great as E3 once was if Nintendo doesn’t bother to show up at your event 😉

@TheBigBlue Is it really ever going to be great if none of the showcases even recognise they’re part of his fantasy? He barely gets any decent announcements to be revealed himself.

It seems so obvious in hindsight, can't believe I forgot about it. The reason there had to be a general Direct this week was Nintendo's AGM today. If there wasn't a general Direct all the questions at the meeting would be about the gigantic drought after Pikmin 4 in the form of stuff like "where's Switch 2?" and "what does Switch have to offer during the holiday season?".

@Grumblevolcano I had no idea there was an AGM. That makes so much sense.

The fact they put N in the thumbnail makes me think that they're predicting the 2024 Unova games to be shown, when that's 100% not happening. They'll wait for February 2024 to show them off, and wouldn't show them in a Presents that is trying to hype up the SV DLC.

My predictions are something like:

  • Esports news (2 minutes)
  • More info about the Netflix show (2 minutes)
  • Usual mobile game updates like GO, Masters, Unite, etc. (10 minutes)
  • Detective Pikachu 2 movie (3 minutes)
  • Detective Pikachu Returns (5 minutes)
  • NSO additions being at the least the already announced Stadium 2 and TCG but could be others as well (3 minutes)
  • Scarlet/Violet DLC including release date for part 1 and release month for part 2 (10 minutes)

@Grumblevolcano I doubt there'll be anything on the Detective Pikachu movie, given the whole writer's and actors strike going on in Hollywood. It probably delayed that film indefinitely.

I've been thinking about what could potentially be shown in the Presents on Tuesday as well so here's my extremely copium-fueled predictions:

  • Worlds promo (2 minutes)
  • New spin-off, personally praying it's a new Mystery Dungeon (4 minutes)
  • Mobile game portion (10 minutes)
  • Detective Pikachu overview (5 minutes)
  • Trailer/Release Date for the stop-motion Netflix series (3 minutes)
  • Something Pokemon related for NSO (3 minutes)
  • SV DLC deep-dive + release date, with Teal Mask being a shadowdrop release the same day (7 minutes)

So now we have a release date for The Teal Mask (September 13th), I predict the next general Direct will be on the week beginning September 18th (most likely 19th or 20th). Nintendo the past few years for the February and September Directs generally had release something and then soon after was general Direct:

  • Fire Emblem Engage (January 20th 2023) -> General Direct (February 8th 2023)
  • Splatoon 3 (September 9th 2022) -> General Direct (September 13th 2022)
  • Pokemon Legends Arceus (January 28th 2022) -> General Direct (February 9th 2022)
  • WarioWare Get It Together (September 10th 2021) -> General Direct (September 23rd 2021)
  • 3D World (February 13th 2021) -> General Direct (February 17th 2021)

The Teal Mask is September's big release so it would fit in with the rest of the timings.
