@MarioBrickLayer Much like Live A Live, Pac-Man World: Re-Pac, or Diablo II: Resurrection. MP1 is being dropped into a new game engine. Which qualifies as a remake for some folks. Not me though. Those games are still the same, just touched up. By comparison Resident Evil 2, Trials of Mana, and Link's Awakening qualify as remakes.

@Grumblevolcano
Nintendo has never held a Direct or any formal presentation on a Friday (Saturday in Japan).

@westman98 @Grumblevolcano

What about the Animal Crossing: NH Direct back on October 15th? That was a Friday.

@westman98 September 15th is a Thursday, the point was that I thought the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase was on September 15th during the usual general Direct time so a general Direct wouldn't happen then. But it's not the 15th, it's the 9th so the 15th is free.

@Magician
Damn, you're right. Good catch.

I know for sure that general, Mini, and Partner Showcase Directs have never been held on Fridays, but I'm not quite as sure for game-specific Directs.

With that being said, I believe the vast majority of game-specific Directs avoid the Friday timeslot. That 2021 Animal Crossing New Horizons Direct may be one of the only exceptions.

@Grumblevolcano
Oh, I thought you were referring to a Direct on Sep 9th. The 15th is definitely possible. (Though IIRC, general Directs during the Switch era are always held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The 15th is also the start of TGS 2022, which would overlap with the Direct).

Yeah, if I were a gambling man, I'd say the 15th would be a good bet.

Guys I'm losing my cool, I'm the biggest Zelda guy I know and I saw "Zelda blow-out" and kind of started freaking out. I have so many theories for Botw 2.

@westman98 The only general Directs on Tuesday in the Switch era have been the E3 ones. Early in the year (January - March) and September ones are Wednesday/Thursday.

If Disney have an event too, i'm still hoping (unrealistically!) that we get a port of the Saturday Afternoon Collection, I thought they were epic NES games.

@Kermit1 Darkwing Duck is awesome but Chip n Dale is the game for me, I remember a friend had it when I was young, I loved playing it.

September 14th would make a lot of sense. It's after Splatoon 3 launches and right before TGS starts.

@FroZtedFlake Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster? it wasnt a remaster/remake of Metroid Prime that was rumored to be released in novembre? is Twilight Princess/Wind Waker remaster a separate release or a double pack release? @Magician so if Nintendo plan to release a remake of Metroid Prime 1, could they include cut content such as boss battle agaist Kraid?

@Giancarlothomaz I'm not sure of the details, sorry. I think it was Metroid Prime Trilogy Remaster, I'm not sure on the WW/TP question.

FragRed

I don’t know if Nintendo would want to release 2 remasters just months before the big new game in the same franchise. Also am skeptical about the Metroid Prime remasters unless they know Prime 4 is coming out next year.

@FragRed i believe Nintendo will release Metroid Prime remaster/remake or the Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster one year/6 months close to the release of Metroid Prime 4, Nintendo will surely want every to play the Metroid Prime series before Metroid Prime 4 release.

@FragRed Fall/Holiday 2023 does sound about right for Prime 4. The announcement for the restart was in January 2019 so the decision to hand it over to Retro was likely made in Holiday 2018 so a Fall/Holiday 2023 release would mean 5 years development time. Also SMTV, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 was the trio of apparent vaporware which actually turned out not to be vaporware. SMTV released in November 2021, Bayonetta 3 releases in October 2022, Prime 4 in Fall/Holiday 2023 would continue the pattern. Finally, much like BotW 2, Prime 4 would benefit from more powerful hardware.

@Grumblevolcano If Nintendo have plans to launch the Switch 2/Pro etc between Fall 2023 and Holiday 2024, I wonder if they would hold back Prime 4 as a launch title? but still playable on the current Switch...Prime 4 + New 3D Mario + something else would be a good launch line up!
