Why Donald Trump really want to ruin the world with tariffs?
Do you think we should give him some poison apple, for making him sleeping forever?
Or should we raise some pitchforks and fire to cancel the tariffs?
It's just occurred to me that the pre-order delay explicitly being due to tariffs might actually help Nintendo's PR a little in the wake of all this pricing controversy, as it makes it clear that Nintendo is at the mercy of Trump's whims just like everyone else and the high prices are not (entirely) down to corporate greed. But regardless, it's not going to go down well if the console price ends up increasing.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
I know people in Europe are complaining the Switch 2 price is higher, they might feel better knowing they don’t have to pay for expensive healthcare and higher education like we in America have to do. Europeans also have much better job security and retirement benefits. Before anyone says Europe has higher taxes, America doesn’t have low taxes. We have to pay federal, state, property, sales tax and now much higher tariffs too.
Ugh. I'm not sure what to think honestly.
It could be the original pricing was corporate greed, could be a situation like the N64 faced.
Tariffs not helping...at least not yet, provided they will at all. I've heard the purpose of a tariff is to force predatory practices to cease by charging the group responsible extra, so they aren't making a profit. Or to punish a country that causes problems with how they handle the border.
@WaveBoy
You uh… new to the internet or something? I mean, we old dudes can complain about this stuff, sure, but like… NL is honestly one of the least offensive when it comes to overreaction culture and all that.
@WaveBoy
To be fair, the single biggest market applying a 46% tariff on goods from the country Nintendo is manufacturing their hardware just before a console launch is pretty significant news. It's pretty much as big as news regarding Nintendo there could be short of literal announcements in a Direct. It's going to have a significant impact on not just Nintendo but the entire industry
I think Nintendo Life has handled this superbly well

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
Just a quick update for anyone that hasn't seen it, but it does seem the US and Vietnam have mutual interest in ending the tariffs, and it seems it'll happen sooner than later (I would link an article, but you can find like a half dozen on it with a Google search). I'm not here to get into any arguments or anything, just wanted to spread a little bit of good news.
@WaveBoy Hench why they cause alot of traffic for the site and they site posts them. I myself could never have my own news site nowadays. In the earlier days of the internet you could but nowadays if you want to make any money on a site you got post the articles that will get the views even if they go against your personal thought or beliefs.

I feel that NL is getting some flack here that they don't deserve. Everyone who writes for this site loves games, and they have incredible integrity in their dedication to readers. I've never gotten the impression that they've lied in game reviews to keep getting handouts. NL does have plenty of click bait, but that's the reality of operating a free website. I really don't blame them for it. The tariff post isn't click bait though; it's legitimate news that would be irresponsible of them to not post.
