I'm excited for this one however the character models seem a bit off to me, Kiefer in particular just looks odd. I hope it might grow on me as I'll definitely be picking it up.

Yea, the character models are a bit odd. Remind me of Bravely Default 2 a bit.

But looks really cool overall!

@rallydefault I keep hearing people say Team America now that's all I can see 😂.

Man, I am so excited for this. I've always thought about playing through the entire mainline Dragon Quest series because I loved 11, but Dragon Quest VII always put me off from doing so. I always heard that VII is super slow and really long. I've heard the PlayStation version of the game took well over 100 hours, and even the 3DS remake still was 80 hours. I wonder if it'll still be in that range.

Add me on switch if you like Xenoblade :)

The character models look a little goofy but I really like the art style overall.

@Vortexeo It's definitely a time sink but it's a great game probably my favourite DQ.

Anti-Matter

I think I will consider this game, but I will pick the PS5 version since the Switch 2 version is using game key card.

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

So no upgrade path for switch editions classic SE. They did the same thing with DQ11 definitive edition.

I am loving that Squeenix is pulling DQ off of 3DS. It was great that all of DQ was on 3DS but now that system is dead it is great that they are porting forward (plus it means I can play on TV).

With Key-Card Switch2 only is the real bummer here.

The art style is really starting to grow on me, I really like it. I'm getting some Link's Awakening vibes.

I know there's been mixed reactions on the art style, but personally I'm a huge fan. It's unique and stands out from the crowd, while also still being very fitting for the game.

Sakaguchi always wanted the Final Fantasy games to have a diorama feel, and it's funny that a DQ remake is giving that more than any Final Fantasy game I can think of. On that note, I wouldn't be opposed to an FFIX remake in this style at all...

Did you ever play Fantasian?

Never decide you're done learning.

It’s more DQ. Pre-ordered the Game Key Card.

Got to support the series from the west to ensure more releases. I just hope it doesn’t get gimped by localization. If they ever go to the point of sanitizing things like Puff Puff, I’m out.

@hisownsidekick I just ordered a physical copy of Fantasian because it was on sale on the Square Enix store! Kinda flew under my radar being a mobile game, but I'm excited to give it a go

@charliecarrot Nice! It never quite matches the heights of FF, but the look is so cool, the soundtrack is possibly Uematsu's last full game score, and the battle system does some neat things. If we never get that diorama-style FFIX remake (which would be awesome, what a dream!), we can at least take comfort that Sakaguchi got to make his dream FF project in all but name. I hope you enjoy it!
