Topic: can someone help me here?

hi so i bought myself and my daughter both a switch 2 mario cart bundle for christmas.
we both had regular switches before this. i set up mine and her mother set up her old switch account.

i set up both switch2's with my account loading mario cart on each new switch 2
the problem is now even if shes logged on under her account on her switch if she goes to play mario cart it says the virtual game card needs to be switched to the other switch2 and it wont let us play together even though i own 2 copies of the game.
is there a way to fix this and load one of the mario cart on her switch 2, it seems to have combined my 2 copies into one which does not seem right.
any help is appreciated. thanks

@Frostea You're supposed to claim/register the bundled game with a nintendo account. Then that nintendo account will own the bundled game like a regular digital purchase.

If the console is connected to internet, the switch system is designed so only one nintendo account/copy of a game can be used one one console at a time.

Beyond these two points, I don't know enough about playing games across multiple consoles, or the new Virtual Game Card system, to advise further. If no one else answers, I'll recommend asking in the Daily Question Thread pinned to the top of NintendoSwitch sub reddit.

Also contact Nintendo Support they can offer more help then you think.

@WoomyNNYes thanks ill figure it out i figured a virtual game would be like a cartridge and be identified as a registed game thinking i had 2 different copies.

It seems to me that you may have registered both copies of the game to a single account. I'd like to know if Nintendo customer support will reverse this, so that your daughter can have one of the codes. I'm not feeling too optimistic, about it, but I hope they will resolve this for you.

If you can prove that you purchased two of the bundles, I don't think customer support will have any issue giving you a new unique registration for one of the Mario Karts. It does sound like you registered the games to the same account somehow. I don't buy digital games, though, so I'm not entirely sure.
