This month has gone so slow for me as I eagerly await the arrival of the Switch 2 in my hands.
Mario Kart World - I can't wait!
Already booked 5-6th of June off work, I'm daily dusting the shelf where the console will sit, positioning the furniture at the perfect angle to the TV, got a snack and drink delivery coming on the 4th that should last me through the weekend.
I wish.
Just can't get hold of one.
I could have got one through Nintendo as they did send an invite through, but I am just determined to basically pay nothing for it using my Nectar points at Argos. As soon as I can get one through there, then I will!
I will wait and see.
Not gonna getting Switch 2 on this year, still salty with a lot of game key cards for 3rd party games.
The 1st party are still not convincing enough for me.
Wake me up from new Animal Crossing on Switch 2 with gameplay like ACNH + The SIMS.
I am staring at my unplayed copy of Tears of the Kingdom thinking if I should suffer the framerate a little again to try to get a headstart on the crazy amount of content it has...
..but then I say to myself "what if I go by an area and there is a Zelda voice memory I miss in Zelda Notes, then ill have to travel back to these old places again to hear it!"
I have been replaying Mario Kart 8 though only because I never really got into the booster pack stuff and felt now was as good as time as any right?
You dont mean that Magician, you will successfully obtain a console this year!
True, I am being a bit dramatic. But at the same time I won't be upset if I'm not part of the Switch 2 day-one zeitgeist. I'll continue to lazily check Murican retailers every now and then.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,453 games (as of June 2nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 2 games (as of June 9th, 2025)
If it helps, Gamestop has confirmed on their twitter and by their managers over reddit that they will have consoles to sell to non pre orderers on day one at store open launch day. So if you are willing to line up a little early on June 5, youll be able to scoop one in person.
I will wait for sure for now there is only ONE game for the Switch 2 for me (Cyberpunk 2077) and it is not enough for me to buy the console. If they bring other games I want ALL on the cartridge then I will get it down the line.
Crossing fingers for Elden Ring. That alone will make be order it instantly!
Sadly I will not be. I splurged last month and bought a Virtual Boy with a few games, so I figured it would be best to wait before making another purchase of that size.
That being said I am looking forward to seeing what additional titles will be available for the Switch 2 in the future.
I feel like I'm also well prepared! I have already uploaded my Switch files to Nintendo's server and sold my Switch and all accessories (except my 2 Pro Controllers and Gamecube adapter).
My Switch 2 screen protector and hard case already arrived, and I rearranged the stuff on my desk so there will be enough space for the Switch 2. All I have to do now is wait for my delivery, which is the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle, a Pro Controller 2 and the all-in-one case. I haven't been this excited in a long time!
I've also got the 5th & 6th booked off work. I am watching as much YouTube Switch 2 content as I can but other than that I'm not sure how much more I can prepare.

Joke: "How much do virtual boys go for these days?"
Answer: "Approximately the same as the costs of fixing your eyesight at the optometrist afterwards!"
Ba-da-chiing!
Joking aside, how much are virtual boys going for these days on the market? I got one for 80 bucks way back when you could find them used in Kaybee Toy Stores still. I sold it to someone over a decade ago for like 50 bucks. So ill be salty if it is worth hundreds now lol.
@Quantumz00 Well on ebay they can range around $300-$500 USD after shipping and taxes depending on condition, the number of games with it, and the seller.
I spent over $500 on mine, but it also had three games and the ribbon cables had been replaced too. (I work for a contractor, we had been doing a remodel job in a basement, and I had notice water dripping from the bathroom above where we were working whenever the toilet flushed. After tearing up the floor, replacing the toilet flange, and putting down a new floor in under a week, I decided celebrate by buying the Virtual Boy.)
Yeah thats valuable enough for me to be salty. Like a few weeks back when i took my fathers old baseball cards to be appraised and one was worth 125,000 - if it was a mint 10 or mint 9. But ours was like a mint 6 or 5, and was worth only a few hundred. Made me a very sad puppy.
And now i sold my virtual boy for peanuts when i also could have made a decent penny. Pfft. Ah well, live and learn
I will pickup the day after as I won't be able to do midnight release pickup. Just have to pickup the next day after work. My week is working so I don't have time off til Sunday/Monday are my free days.
@Quantumz00 The thing is, it's only worth that much if you can find somebody willing to pay that much. Just because I was willing doesn't mean the next person would have been.

That made no sense? Those whom PreOrder that was a choice they made and if one doesn't then don't buy Switch 2 you have the choice. How you decide what to buy is your decision what others decide and what choices they make isn't for anyone but the buyer themselves to decide.
