3 million isn't a lot really, not for a mobile game. It's also a free game. Considering that they have more than 50 million people that own their current gen hardware, 3 million is just a small fraction of that.
Considering that its region locked, is not a game and its more of a social app than a game, 3 million is a lot. Tell me an app that does better in just 2-3 days....
It is also Nintendo's first app. Meaning they didn't have an audience on those stores before. I agree, it is a pretty good start
Yea, right, not sure what this is based on but even stuff like "Candy Crush" got downloaded 20 million times in its first week and its just a crappy game.
The app in its current form wont attract even half of that due to its rather high tech requirements (yea, have fun playing it on lower end quadcore phones) and battery drain. It puts off alot of people.
Sure, 2-3 million is "fine" for every company releasing a free app, but considering the amount of clients getting informed upfront and waiting for it.. its nothing special. You can check download charts weekly and for the last 2 years.
Its fine, but nowhere near "great" or anything else... in the open world Nintendo will suffer alot due to their nanny-attitude (just watch the app ratings go down already in the store and look what most are complaining about).
Yeah I'm gonna start deleting random "friends"...rather just stick to NL users I talk to and actual friends. (and one of them actually added me, yayz! lol)

Cool. It works on my wife's new phone. I got all the big missions completed except for doing a face-to-face. Maybe the next time I see my dad I can download it to his phone just to do that for the 100 coins. I seriously doubt I will ever really use it (especially as it is not on my phone), but it was nice to give me enough coins to get the Zelda Picross.

Do you know the reason why mobile games fall down more than console games? Its because of the lack of originality that causes the games to fall back gradually. When a sequel is made in console gaming, it tries to be different and adds more to the game series. Sure, many can be the same and sell millions but the success there is expected and more sensible rather than the gamble that mobile games are suffering right now. Candy Crush is popular not because of its gameplay, but rather because its a drug.
Not to mention that mobile games require huge marketing efforts to make your mobile go to top chart. Miitomo not having that many ads and reaching to the top is beyond shocking to me.
Miitomo doesn't look like its going to have a sequel nor will Nintendo think of it as a franchise. You're forgetting the important fact here that Miitomo is suppose to lure the mobile audience into their dedicated gaming systems and for that reason, 3 million doesn't sound "fine" to me.
And buddy, Nintendo is often criticized for not doing things that its competitors are doing so when they start doing it, it becomes a negative all of a sudden? Add that with 3 million and you got yourself a what? That you were right all along that Nintendo can't compete in mobile?
Oh and umm....let's rephrase what Miitomo is shall we? its a social app that doesn't act like a game and for something that isn't a Mario game ended up selling 3 million in just half a week.
Does anyone else have the problem that Miitomo isn't compatible with a tablet? It's got Android 4.4.2, so that isn't the problem. I'd like to try it out once

Sorry, but which part of my posting you didnt understand? Read it again. What you are saying is blabla, Im saying there are official stats no matter how you want to twist it or you are telling me the other apps also got so much crappy reviews in such a short time? Just read it, or anybody who wants. Ridiculous. This app wont attract much due to the reasons stated above and my "game" example was just this, ONE example. If you want go and compare it with anything Xbox or Playstation did.
Im sure you are the "defender of all Nintendo" but spare me your cryboy talk. This app right now is more than underwhelming, not even the face to face feature works correctly. The Eshop is overpriced and the "rewards" are something the trade commission should have a look at.
Bottom line, they didnt break ANY records whats so ever, BUDDY. But in your fantasy world, im sure they are world leader in "something"
Does the face-to-face feature work for anyone? Yes, "some" report it works but I see alot of "doesnt work".. so whats the deal here? Please refrain from quoting the FAQ (yes, location/gps blabla, yes, network blabla) - Tried with various devices on various networks, that crap doesnt work (or is it some region block crap again?)
@AlexMurphy: I can't get it to work, that's what I came here to find out. GPS/Location on, same Wi-Fi network, same "suit". Android 4.4 on both tablets. I'm wondering if it's a phone thing? So many Android devices and software for them to test, not surprised it doesn't work for everyone, but I'd like it to, my kids has no use for this playing alone.
Oh, and its REALLY bothering me that we can't use Miiverse friends, that would be SO easy as my wife 2 kids and I each have NNID, NA and MyN. How did they @#$%^& leave that out!?!?!?

I have 2 Samsung Galaxy tablets - Tab 2 and Tab 4 7" - both running 4.4.2 (Tab 4 supposedly was getting 5.0 but never did) and Miitomo runs just fine on both, except for Face-to-Face not working. I'm really kind of surprised the Tab 2 works, that's 4 years old I think. My wife has a 5 year old Nook HD, going to try that out later, I'll let ya know.

I thought the face to face used NFC feature or something. I had to put my phone less than a foot away from my Wife's and I have seen other people do the same to get it to work. I have seen it not work across people's desk (about 3 feet) but when one of them came around the desk to the other side it worked. So I think it uses NFC and I think most phones within the past 3 years have that.
Hey peeps, so I've got an odd issue where my friend is seeing all of my answers but I'm not getting any of his. Has anyone else had this issue? Like it's really weird, and there's no documentation on it anywhere.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@AlexMurphy: @DefHalan: Yeah, I don't think it can be NFC, Nitneod can't be that stupid to make it rely on NFC w/o advertising it as such. And that's coming from somebody who thinks Nitneod is very stupid, just not that stupid. Now, it can be checking for NFC, but that isn't how it's supposed to work, that would be some type of coding bug. OK, back to breakfast, my pancakes need flipping.

I remember reading here someone managed to get it to work after 100 tries...
Haha. That was probably me.
I was patience enough to try it out for so long because I just wanted the 100 coins from it. I could have easily add the other person via Facebook.
I tried every setting possible on each phone and restarted the game a few times. The thing that worked for me at the end was to activate High Accuracy(GPS and WLAN) on both phones. But I don't actually know if that mattered, but it worked after a few tries then.
