Special Addition: Kirby Air Riders for Nintendo Music was briefly announced on Nintendo Today before it was abruptly taken down, likely a mistake and will perhaps be announced tomorrow at/after the Direct

Dropping half a game's soundtrack instead of the whole thing
Dropping 26 NES games at once
Dropping a whole freaking series all at once
And now dropping the soundtrack for a currently unreleased game

I love how cheeky the guy who picks the soundtracks is 🤣.

The special release for Kirby Air Riders is available now! Surprisingly, it isn't on the complete list of games yet.

I will say, I am running out of OSTs even for the under an hour I spend a week listening to this. At least in terms of OSTs I want to listen to remotely soon, either because already listened to it on this app or too short to justify while driving or need to play or plan to replay soon so would be redundant or is Pikmin 4's disappointly underwhelming music.

I'd held off on beating the final path of Star Fox 64 on NSO (which I've done many times on actual N64) and decided to do it yesterday (and got stuck on the true final boss which I don't think I've ever had happened before), partially because it'd be a good one to listen to. Otherwise I think I just have Mario Galaxy and BOTW left (since I'm not doing TOTK as well soon since that'd be redundant too).

This is in fact the most insignificant problem on Earth, I realize. Speaking of which though, still waiting for those missing tracks for Metroid Prime.

@kkslider5552000 hey, in the nintendo world it is NOT insignificant. i honestly agree, i love my zelda soundtracks but hearing it over and over gets tiring. i wish they would drop it twice a week, but i guess that wouldnt make it special. im glad they at least have extended timers. metroid is SO absent from the list of games 😭
also, i feel like once they start to run out of first party titles, i feel like some third party music would be really cool. i know its on spotify, but it would be nice to have undertale and minecraft and various indie soundtracks on nintendo music. maybe someday.

That’s why making playlists is useful- mix it up.

This would be awesome but I feel like, kinda similar to games release on NSO, nearly anything exciting you could add to it from 3rd parties they have reason to sell it on their own and make some money on their own for it instead.

I don't think we're even gonna get Super Mario RPG, because that's Square.

Having an official Nintendo music app is a dream on paper but it continues to frustrate me.
When they drop something like Fire Emblem Engage or TOTK that can entertain me for weeks but generally the progress is way too slow. To top it off they do things like adding a song selection of Air Riders to promote it (cool) instead of a full release (lame), and add the nearly identical 3DS OoT soundtrack as the only update that week.

Additionally the fact that it's unlikely we will ever get 3rd party and Indie soundtracks just inherently prevents it from being the definitive place to listen to game music.

I'm hoping we will reach a point where it has parity with or exceeds the NSO classic app offerings and we don't have to wait 3+ years for a new release to
drop out of the blue.

My prediction this week is some of Metroid Prime 4 like the music from the April/May demo along with the music from the March 2025 Direct for example. Kind of a way to put people at ease that Prime 4 is releasing this year without sharing any new info about the game.

I feel like we'll get the next part of Kirby and the Forgotten Lands music in the next 2 weeks and then some Mario music of some form early in September.

Zelda is long overdue the regular soundtrack, so I’m going to predict Majora’s Mask

I once again hope for Majora’s Mask or Mario Sunshine this week.

Going to go with Metroid II again.

I'm gonna predict that we'll get a Game Boy game of some sort... maybe the Game & Watch Gallery games? I'll go with that
