Considering this is probably the final drop of the year (adding stuff on December 23rd and 30th feels unlikely), I'm predicting they add 3 soundtracks to take account of the weeks with nothing. So my guesses are:
DKC3 (continuing DK celebrations)
Miitopia (adding a 3DS game for the first time)
Pokemon X/Y (adding another 3DS game, also acting as a reminder that Legends Z-A exists)
I also collected the various Club Nintendo CDs back in the day. So this is pretty cool. I just hope the catalogue of music grows quickly because these major releases had already fairly decent versions fairly readily accessible. It's the deep cuts where you look them up and it's some low quality ROM rip someone put on YouTube 14 years ago or something I want to see
Also how you could launch a music service for Nintendo and not have Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Mario World or Link's Awakening is baffling to me. This is very cool but there are so many huge gaps
You should be able to go onto this thing and find the menu theme from Gameboy Gallery, the wrestler song from Rhythm Heaven or the Sky level theme from Donkey Kong Land. Currently it doesn't have the Ballad of the Windfish, Midna's Lament or Stickerbrush Symphony. So room for improvement there
So we now have Skyward Sword, Donkey Kong Country 2 and they separately added all three Donkey Kong Land games to NSO. Stop reading my posts Nintendo!
Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
So, I never owned Skyward Sword, but I knew there were a few good songs like Skyloft and Ballad of the Goddess. I have been listening to the soundtrack on Nintendo Music recently, and I didn't realize how many fantastic tunes there are. Some of my favorites include:
Islands in the sky,
Groose Appears,
Flight Training,
Faron Woods,
Gliding with a Loftwing,
and The Bazaar.
Warning: Spicy opinions like "M&Ms are overrated." may leak from this unit!
Also, new update to the search screen is cool. They made it so it shows older and newer versions of the games that have already been released on the app. So now you can select Mario Kart 8 instead of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and other things like that.

Considering this is probably the final drop of the year (adding stuff on December 23rd and 30th feels unlikely)...
I actually think there will be a few more drops this year. I don't know why they wouldn't give something on December 23rd or the 30th, plus probably another one on the 25th for Christmas (though that might be a bit far fetched, given there would have been a drop 2 days ago.)
Maybe what they will do is a small one for the 23rd, something related to Christmas on the 25th (it could be mission in snowdriftland if they were ever planning on dropping that) then it could be a toss up on the 30th (there have already been 2 major drops this month, maybe slowing down and letting people enjoy the holidays without a big distraction, or something big to end the year on, I could see it going either way TBH)
Neat that they added Skyward Sword HD and Prime Remastered to the Switch section that link to their original versions, as well as adding a Wii U section with MK8 and BotW that link to the Switch versions.
Though oddly they didn't add a 3DS section with OoT/SF64 that link to the original N64 versions.
@IceClimbers I would imagine that has to do with the 3DS versions being seperate audio files (you can definitely tell with SF64 3D) as opposed to the CTRL C+CTRL V they've done with the GameCube and Wii remasters on Switch
Lets go great OST! We finally got Super Mario 64, one of the best soundtracks of all time! Should’ve been there from the start, but nice to finally get it.
Also means they're okay with adding more than one game per system in the same month. At this rate they'll have the N64 1st party library complete before they even make a proper dent in the other systems lol
Super Mario 64!! I'm glad the piano version of Piranha Plant's Lullaby wasn't forgotten, it's such a lovely rendition.
Also I've been thinking, when they get round to adding an NES game, surely they won't just release one soundtrack that week. That seems a little tight-fisted even by Nintendo's standards! I think 3 games minimum would suffice.
@IceClimbers DKC3 was not shown in the launch trailer but I wouldn't be surprised if it crops later down the pipeline
Interesting, so they did add music this late in the year after all which opens next week as well. It also broke the streak of alternating between random picks and already teased picks.
I don't think they'd have such a small gap between 2 Zelda games being added so a random addition seems more likely than Wind Waker for next week.
