Even with how tiny this week's release is, I still managed to add 9 tracks to my playlist - arguably my biggest haul since the TTYD remake.* Even if another small album would've been nice, I'm very happy with this release!

(*I added 10 tracks from Dream Buffet, but all of them are just straight rips from random other Kirby games, so it doesn't really count.)

I gave the tracks a listen — honestly, I quite liked it! All of the world themes were distinct.

A Happy Holidays! section has been added to the home page, and while there aren't any new playlists they did update the cover art for Powering Up, Party and Winter to feature images from newer additions like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Mario Party Jamboree.

Edit: The other "Match your mood" covers were updated to make the circles larger. The cover for Good Night also updated the image for "The Farthest Lullaby - Fossil Falls - Music Box Ver." from Super Mario Odyssey, which was previously zoomed in to the point of not being easily recognizable.

I’m also putting off Donkey Kong Country Returns because January will be one year since the last DKC soundtrack as well as Returns HD.

really i just hope we don't get another singular game boy release, that's it. i don't wanna go back to the first six months of nintendo music when that was something that could happen consecutively, i'm not going back there!!!

Here are my guesses, just in case they decide to still do Monday even with Christmas in a few days:

The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (1993, or both 1993 and 2019)
Splatoon 3 Ordertune
Xenoblade Chronicles / Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition (last week's drop was just a Game Boy game, so if they did this one, which probably has a bunch of songs, then they could pull another TotK and be like "no new soundtrack for two weeks, y'all". That way, our shed man can have a Christmas break. Also, going through both 2024 and 2025 without a single Xenoblade soundtrack on the app would be kind of wild, if you ask me.)

I guess I'll join in predicting early incase they do a Nintendo Music drop a day early. My prediction is Mario Kart World, a lengthy soundtrack to end the year with the following 1 or 2 weeks being nothing to take account of the holidays.

@Grumblevolcano you took my guess haha — MarioKart World would be a fantastic Christmas present from Shed Man 😁 My secondaries are Xenoblade Chronicles and Splatoon 3.

A Zelda game, a Nintendo 64 game, or a Wario game. Nothing too random for me. There'll be nothing for the week of New Year's Eve once again, but at least they'll tell us this time.

I think Mario Kart World will get an in-game music player first before coming to Nintendo Music. Apparently, I still don't believe it's coming anytime soon...

@Dev-N it's just hard to not imagine it as a possibility, i mean trinen mentioned that people were specifically wondering about mario kart world, we now have names for all the songs sorta unprompted, there's a proper switch 2 section on the app.. obviously there's still a lot of hopium here, but it doesn't feel impossible anymore.

Based on them using a song from 3D World on Nintendo Online, my guess is 3D World

I'm debating right now... Is MarioKart World more likely to be added first, or Donkey Kong Bananza?

See, MKW recently got a music-related update, which would be seem to suggest the OST could come to NMusic soon. However, if the game is set to get DLC (which I feel it must be), then perhaps they don't want to drop the soundtrack before then.

On the other hand, DKB has a "Special Release" already! Plus, given the whole "ooh King K. Rool isn't a spoiler anymore" claims (thanks to the Nintendo Today! update), we can assume that the whole OST could be released without fear of spoilers.

What are y'all's thoughts on this??

Okay, so being that - if the pattern from last year follows - tomorrow's release will be the final one of the year... Screw it. I'll go with something wild. My perfectly reasonable and calculated prediction for this week is the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate soundtrack. Y'know, it surely can't be that big of an OST, I'm sure dungeon man wouldn't have a nervous breakdown trying to compile all of it. Third party songs? Nah, Sakurai can stick it to 'em.

But I'm sure that I'll be totally wrong and that we'll actually be getting the massive and acclaimed soundtracks of Big Brain Academy or Yoshi's Safari, idk

(I was thinking of doing MKW as my wild end-of-year prediction along with everyone else, but they have a clear pattern so far of not releasing full OSTs until they are at least a year old, so I'm sticking with good ole SSBU. If we get anything from MKW right now, I believe it'll be a special release.)
