Topic: Unicorn Overlord artbook

Unicorn Overlord will likely be my most-played game this year. I'm so into it that I'm considering getting the Monarch Edition for the extras (card game, soundtrack, artbook). Then I saw this article:

and I'm like, 416 pages is a hell of a lot more than 132 pages, maybe I should wait for that instead.

The English translation of the article isn't too clear about what's included in the "ebtenDX Pack". Can anyone who can read Japanese provide details on why it costs 14,300 yen more than just the artbook? It can't be just the illustration card, can it?

I have the Monarch Edition and the art book is nice, but that retail Official Art Book will be much better, I'm sure. The page size of the official book (A4-size, comparable to letter size) is almost twice as big as the Monarch pack-in book, plus you get more than double the pages!

Basically, the main feature of the Ebten DX Pack is it includes a framed, A4 size "finegraph" art print of the Official Art Book's cover art. Apparently, a "finegraph" is a high-quality print where the ink is heated, pressurized, and sprayed onto the paper. It has richer, smoother colors and clarity vs. dot-based conventional prints.
The framed finegraph dimensions are 289mm x 376mm x 20mm thick. (The illustration itself is about 210. x 297mm.)

It seems the Ebten DX pack may only be available online through Kadokawa's Chara-Ani.com website, as linked in the Famitsu article? They may only ship to domestic Japanese addresses, so you may need a proxy in Japan to help with ordering it. I bought the Unicorn Overlord OST CD in a similar arrangement earlier this year, since it was like a made-to-order item, not available at regular retail.

It looks like a gorgeous book and art print, though! Unicorn Overlord is such a beautiful game, I'm tempted to order this ebten pack for myself!

@Teksetter Thanks for your reply. I just realized that this artbook will probably be in Japanese, lol. Perhaps Atlus will see fit to put out an English version.

Yes, it’s most likely in Japanese. I remember the description said it will include creator interviews in the book, and I imagine all the character names and descriptions and art captions will all be in Japanese, too.

Hopefully they’ll see fit to translate and sell an English version someday!
