Topic: Stupid Best Buy Ad

Pretty much every time I go to a new page this Best Buy ad pops up, and if my mouse so much as touches it it enlarges and I have to click a tiny little link to close it. Annoyance!

It's called the Internet. One giant advertisement.

So I'm not the only one dealing that problem? It also blocks any drop-down list.

If you use Firefox, you can get rid of all ads on all webpages using AdBlock Plus. I haven't seen a web advertisement for about 2 years now.

Oh yes, I have AdBlock installed, but if I enable it on NintendoLife they're not getting any ad revenue from me. In the past we've reported annoying ads and they've taken care of it.

Ah right. Well they will only get revenue from clicks, so just having them display doesn't do anything. At least that's how most internet ad services work. If you want to support NL, you'll have to click them.

How many people in the world click on ads? Very few. There are different advertising models, and I'm sure that NL uses one of the page view options. I remember one of the admins asking us to disable AdBlock for this site.

Hmm that's strange. I disabled AdBlock Plus and NoScript and I still don't see any ads on the site. Any idea what's wrong?

Yeah, I have to admit this particular ad is annoying, but I want NL to get the necessary revenue so outright blocking is out of the question.

I don't think there are ads on the forum pages.
You should see ads if you go to the main page, though.
I really like when the close button is in the same location as the small ad, so that when you click close your positioned over the ad again, causing it to enlarge once again when you move the mouse.

There are usually ads on the forum pages, just to the right of the user box. I don't have one displaying right this instant, but I figured that was because some of them don't work on the PS3 browser.

EDIT: I still think that's why for me. I just checked a page on the site and found that space empty, but another ad space had something in it. Meh.
