So not quite sure if it's the browser I am using or the site or some other kind of bug, but some users posts are not appearing for me. I thought at first I thought I had ignored them by accident but after looking on my ignore list they weren't on there. I tried clearing cookies, exiting the browser and still the problem persists. I even tried both Chrome and Firefox and have the same problem. Not sure what else I can do for now but you might want to check this out @antdickens. If you need more info on this or screenshots just let me know. It's kind of a weird bug to explain.

It might sound a bit harsh, but maybe they’re using the reverse ignore feature that was added some time ago?

(As in, you can now make people you ignore, ignore you)

@Eel Hmmm interesting. But the posts that are missing are people not on my ignore list.

@Tasuki I don’t they appear in your ignore list when they decide themselves to become ignored by you. It’s something only they can revert.

It’s mainly to prevent people they’re ignoring from fruitlessly trying to interact with them.

@Tasuki Yep this is a new feature. If you want you can make the people in you ignore list to NOT see your messages as well. It is neat but I already predicted that it will cause people to think it is a bug

Here is the original comment:

"MINOR UPDATE:

You can now "block" a user from seeing your comments/posts (aka a reverse ignore). Just visit the ignore page /user/ignored and then click 'Block' next to anyone you've ignored that you'd rather not see your own comments."

Here is my prediction after it:

"Thank you! I bet that people will be surprised and think that it is a bug that they can't see the comments of users they did not put in ignore "

Wow ok. Kind of an unnecessary feature. I can understand you not being able to see people you choose on your ignore list but making others being able to censor what you can see?? I am not sure if that's such a good idea. Especially when there has been much more requested (and less controversial) features like a dark mode for example being asked for.

@Tasuki I kinda like the idea of a person I might not really like, commenting about something I said, behind my back. Plus it was pretty requested And i'm sure it was much more easy to do that then dark mode, Although I'm not to sure why Dark mode is Taking so long.

It is a basic block function as exists throughout social platforms.

You can always log out or open an incognito window and still see the posts.

@Pizzamorg @antdickens I understand that it's on other social platforms, doesn't meant it's right. I don't know it just feels that I should be able to choose what posts I want to see and not see that's what an ignore button is for after all. After all they are public forms if people don't want other people to see their posts well then maybe they should be mindful if what they post in a public forum.

@Tasuki Yep and you can still do all of that, nothing has changed on that front. Just the ability for others to block people that they don’t get along with.

I’m all for adding features that reduce needless arguments and disagreements which this feature will achieve.

@antdickens It is what it is and it's your site in the end. Just I can see it causing more problems and again just doesn't make sense on a public site.

You're looking at this in completely the wrong way? I'm sort of half baffled you can come away with such odd conclusions.

The whole point of a block feature is to protect the user, allowing them to avoid harrasment and confrontation if they want to.

This isn't about some form of weird control or censorship or whatever you're saying. This isn't about "rights" to a person's posts, just such a weird stance.

Why do you want to see posts from people that have you ignored anyway? You can’t engage with them since they don’t see your posts. And it keeps peace (both personal and public) and a public forum doesn’t mean that one is obligated to engage with others if they don’t want to. Just like no one is obligated to read what someone posts. However some people can’t move on and they will start a one-sided fight for no reason (some people find being ignored offensive I guess). It’s really better for all involved this way. And if you are being ignored because you upset someone they should be able to remove themselves from your notice without issue. Frankly people often take things too far (not saying you are) and go after others because they feel they can, making things unpleasant for everyone. Boundaries should be respected and allowed.
