Thank God that didn't happen.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

But yeah guys, don't actually read the article or anything...

But I did read that. I'll say it again. Thank God that didn't happen.

Next time, don't assume.

That....actually could have been an interesting game. Not as good as the final OoT, mind you, but still interesting....

"Right. In the beginning, he had the image that you are at first walking around in first-person, and when an enemy appeared, the screen would switch, Link would appear, and the battle would unfold from a side perspective."

Oh the Irony. I don't think you read the article either, Swiket.

It wouldn't have been too bad. Granted, it wouldn't have been as good as the final product, but it's kind of a cool idea.

Of course, I liked Zelda II, so what do you expect?

That actually sounds like a really neat idea, I wouldn't mind seeing that in another game, I kind of picture that fighting to be a lot like Zelda 2. Of course I'd rather see it in a new IP and not to mess with the Zelda we're used to now.

Ironic how everyone automatically assumes it would be a shooter. I would love to see where Retro Studios could go with this.

And to think, I thought I was the only person in the world who liked Zelda ll.

Zelda II isn't a bad game, it's just frickin' hard.

Yeah who?

Most of the replies in this thread have been about how bad Zelda would be as a first-person shooter. The only bad part of that is "shooter".

Granted, Ocarina of Time's current layout wouldn't cut it from a first-person perspective. They would have had to put a lot more time and effort into the game design to make it work.

Am I the only one who hate first person perspectives in video games? I can't stand it for some reason...

Not a single person in the thread mentioned the word "shooter." Did I miss something?

When I use the free camera mode with the gyro, I can actually fully turn around and see the whole surounding. So I wouldn't have mind.

Ocarina of Time could have been many things...it was originally supposed to be adult Link only. OoT could have taken the series in a very interesting direction.

Up until I posted, only two people mentioned the word "Zelda", only one mentioned Ocarina of Time, and aside from quoting the article, there had been only one mention of "first-person perspective". Sorry, I didn't mean "everyone". I realized I misread a few people's posts, so it's closer to half.

Miyamoto said that the camera system in Super Mario 64 was designed to focus on Mario. In Zelda games, the camera's center of attention isn't Link, it's the environments around him.

Not only would experiencing Hyrule through Link's eyes would add a lot to the game, but it would also reinforce the original idea that the player is Link.
