It's not a JRPG. I see your point, because I get confused at times when I try to tell someone my favorite genres, and then Zelda pops into my head and I draw a blank. But I think we can agree that it's an Action-Adventure game at the least.

The ladies being always over Link doesn't show it to be a dating sim either. If anything, that's extreme simplification of a surprisingly sophisticated genre of games.

(Well, simplification of the best of them, anyway. Most of them are just sickeningly simplistic, male chauvinistic Japanese teen fantasy simulators. But if LoZ depicts ladies like that, then I wonder what it says about the series...)

I know one thing Zelda isn't: shovelware.

With the review that just went up for OOT 3D this topic needs to be brought back up to show why Zelda is the greatest series of all time. It accomplishes everything.
