This topic has most likely been done before but I would not go back far enough to know.

What are your favorite controllers?

1. Sega Saturn - Always been my fav because I felt it was the most comfortable and you can not beat this controller for fighters. Plus it's the Genesis controller to the next level(inside joke there for Sega fans - WELCOMETOTHENEXTLEVEL).
Untitled

2. Microsoft Xbox(Duke) - Felt like it was almost made for my hands. The Dreamcast controller was almost there but the 'Duke' version of the controller made it perfect for me.
Untitled

3. Nintendo Gamecube - Nintendo made one of the most comfortable controllers ever and for most games I can't complain about it. Plus I'm partial to it's unique indigo, or purple as I call it, color.
Untitled

4. Sega Dreamcast - I really liked this controllers form and who didn't love those VMU's serving as kinda like the father to Wii U.
Untitled

5. Sony Playstation - While I hate the placement of the analog sticks I can not deny this controllers almost duh shape and comfort.

Definitely the Gamecube controller, the triggers just felt so good, with the C-stick as the second analogue, and another Z-button, it would be (one of) the most comfortable controller(s) of this generation.

GameCube controller all the way! it's the cool guy's controller(at least was until the WiiU came around and GC controller support disapeared) it is like a "N64 controller ultimate"(the "middle tip" became the two circles with the C-stick and the D-pad and the buttons were arranged in a way that could be easily pressed together, except the B one but it was just perfect that way, differently from the nowadays ABXY disposition that makes hard to press the button across) I really want that the controllers get super cool and versatile like the GC controller again!

Nothing in the world beats the Gamecube controller though. Especially this one:

Yes, yes it does. I think Microsoft might have a winner with the Xbox One controller.

The Dualshock, and SNES controllers. I feel like there's no games I can't play with those two!

Comfort wise, I would say the GameCube controller might be my all time favorite, it practically melts into your hands. But, design wise, I thought the d-pad and c-stick were just way too small.

Apparently it was never actually a thing: http://www.zeldadungeon.net/2011/02/twilight-princess-gamecub...

How sad.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure if this counts, but the official Hori SCV stick is probably the best peripheral for the X360. Exquisitely clicky and sturdy.

@Norik that's sad.. I was thinking of getting a new GameCube AND a new controller(my GC controller's Z button shattered in 2 pieces somehow when I was playing SSB Meelee...) and if this controller ever came out I'd try to go after it...

IMO the only good ones are the official ones and the MadCatz.

@Norik I love the trustworthy, good old official GC controller!

This. They just feel like home. I'm also a big N64 controller fan which people seem to love or hate.

BEST. WII. CONTROLLER. I can't imagine playing games that support it but not the GC controller without it!(except shooters, pointing is my favorite way to play any shooting game on the wii)

the problem with the N64 controller was the analog stick that breaks too easily. even if you don't use it it will get soft and, sometimes, it will interfere with gameplay. otherwise it would be my second favorite controller(no one beats GC control in my opinion! except if Nintendo made a WiiU gamepad with the GC input layout and feel)
