By traditional I mean stuff like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Caliber, etc. Not stuff like Smash Bros. Mine is easily Street Fighter. More specifically, Alpha 2. Or Tatsunoku vs. Capcom. I consider Capcom's vs series basically street fighter

Soul Calibur by far. Although i've hated every one since the second one. the second is just so amazing to me, i still play it more than most of my wii games. i now have 3 copies because two had the laser eat right through the game, it was on my friends wii that it happened.

The digitized graphics or whatever in kinda turn me off, reminds me of mortal kombat. Which I hate. I believe it only got popular cuz it was so gory. And ten year olds love gore

Nah it was more than just the gore that made Killer Instinct popular. The soundtrack itself was pretty rockin the techno and metal tunes were really good. That and the fast pace action too was a first in fighting games at the time. Believe it or not I actually liked KI more that MK it was a shame that they only did two Killer Instinct games.

And can you go a little faster?!
How can you consider games like Tekken and Soul Calibur traditional, but not Smash Bros.? :/

virtua fighter 5FS for me. i also like streetfighter 3: 3rd strike, soul calibur, tekken 5, king of fighters 99, garou: mark of the wolves to name but many.
@kingbuilder i think what @Lan meant was traditional as in one-to-one but the characters fight as if they are fighting, kicking, punching, throwing etc.

To elaborate, I love Garou since it's incredibly elaborate. It's got just the right amount of systems to it that can make it last a very long time. It also has great fighters that are fun to use and very balanced. The music was great, the visuals are great. It's just such a great game and I could play it for hours on a good day.
The only new fighter that's currently out that i'm interested in giving a chance is the new Mortal Kombat. I also have a copy of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, but i only played maybe 30 or so minutes of it with a buddy of mine. I didn't like the over the top Marvel Vs Capcom lightening fast 'button mashy-like' gameplay, nor did i want to spend countles hours investing my time learning these characters move sets.
Play as Mega Man Voldnutt, you can't really button mash with him yet he doesn't have an incredibly large moveset, just a particular move that makes 'mashing impractical. Really, out of all the versus fighters, I found it hardest to get away with button-mashing in Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
Dead or Alive for me. Because it doesn't have the same silly combo system that requires you to memorise a few billion buttons
There are normally six buttons bro. You mean commands
Hyperbole (play /haɪˈpɜrbəliː/ hy-pur-bə-lee;[1] Greek: ὑπερβολή, 'exaggeration') is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.
Hyperboles are exaggerations to create emphasis or effect. As a literary device, hyperbole is often used in poetry, and is frequently encountered in casual speech. An example of hyperbole is: "The bag weighed a ton."[2] Hyperbole helps to make the point that the bag was very heavy, although it is not probable that it would actually weigh a ton.
In rhetoric, some opposites of hyperbole are meiosis, litotes, understatement, and bathos (the 'letdown' after a hyperbole in a phrase).

Last I checked, DOA has a longer set of moves than even Garou or King of Fighters, which you do need to memorize if you don't want to button mash. They're also actually harder to memorize since they're not the same few combinations used by nearly every traditional fighter known to man.
