I'd love to see Mama's Family turned into a nintendo switch game personally lol. I know it's not a game but would still be funny if it was. 🤣 Had a dream about it this morning seeing it in super nintendo graphics looked cool before waking up~ 🤣
Noticed on the switch they seem to be bringing back alot of older games in general. In all serious since Beetlejuice 2 is coming out this Sept? I know it's in the coming month's one of the few movies going to see in theatre~ 🖤💕 Would love to see the NES or Gameboy version of Beetlejuice come to virtual console or a new Beetlejuice 2 game for the switch in general before the movies released if so getting the game asap. 🥰 Huge Beetlejuice fan since it came out in 1988. 🖤💞💕
This just made realize, we don't really get a lot of games based on shows these days, don't we? It's kind of a shame, cause there's a lot of good potential for quality tie-in games.
One show that should've gotten a tie-in game is the DuckTales reboot, and there was even an attempt to get one started. FDG Entertainment(the team behind Monster Boy and The Cursed Kingdom) actually tried to pitch a QuackShot remake based on the reboot, but ultimately Disney passed on the project. Shame too. They did these mockups of what the game could look like and it's one of the few times I felt robbed of a potentially good game.
I always found it odd that Supernatural never got a game. Correct me if I am wrong if there is some mobile game or something, but no console game that I know of.

Not counting the 15 million anime-based games. And arguably the entire TMNT game franchise. And depending on your definition of 'tv show', I might count all the live sport games like FIFA and NBA2K 😝 And superhero games often take at least as much from movies/tvs as from the comics. And of course the recent south park game. And all the recent disney character games. And there are always new star wars games.
🤔 On the other side, there have been a surprisingly large amount of popular tv shows lately based on games.
Also, I'm having trouble thinking of tv shows I've watched recently which aren't in any of those above categories. 😝
@FishyS
We still don't get proper Barbie games on Switch and other consoles.
The recent Barbie game on Switch was basically ported from handphone version.
And Goodness knows
The wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The wicked die alone...
I wasn't trying to be pedantic, I was actually just thinking about whether it was true or not.
I think the issue may be less that tv gets turned into games less than it used to and more just that tv viewing habits have changed and a lot of franchises and companies already exist both on tv/movies and also in other media such as comic/manga/games. . If many people are already watching the type of stuff 'expected' to potentially be in games, it's not as surprising to see it in a game so it doesn't seem as interesting.
The fact that most people are suggesting fairly old tv shows rather than current ones may be related to this. Or maybe we're all old 😆
For me..... "Dark" - the excellent time-travel / mystery show from Netflix, which is in my top5 shows of all time.
I think the setting, premise, time-travel narrative and multiple characters could really lend into a 'classic P&C adventure game' - something similar to Thimbleweed Park.
You could swap between multiple protagonists, during multiple time periods, to solve puzzles and implicate past/future events etc.
Could be a cross between Maniac Mansion and Thimbleweed - with horror elements similar to Hob's Barrow.
What came to mind are 2 fantastic recent "R-rated" animated tv shows:
Primal - about a caveman and his dinosaur pal having BADASS adventures. It is notably nearly 100% without dialogue, with all storytelling done visually.
Scavengers Reign - about people stranded on a VERY alien planet, chockfull of interesting, and very alien, flora and fauna (most of which are deadly in various ways).
I can't really think of a good answer to the question but those Duck Tales mockups look amazing. Back in the day you could pretty much expect a 2D platformer tie-in for any popular cartoon, and it's a shame that's not so common now that we have the technology to replicate clean cartoon-style line art in games.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
Don't say any spoilers. I did get the barbie game for switch even though not sure what to think of the movie but haven't got around to playing it yet. 🤦♀️
I had ducktales original GameBoy version year's ago. One of my friends showed me how to play the game on the big screen back then because he had the super gameboy pack that inserted into the super nintendo. Looked like a super nintendo cartridge but had a square in the middle of it to insert original GameBoy games only. I later gave the game to my cousin because I got half way through but couldn't go any farther in the game & it was giving me a headache so figured it could be my cousin's problem lol~ 🤣
You got a good point. Me & my dad used to watch supernatural year's ago when it first came on. That really would have made an interesting video game series all by itself. 👍 Good song by the way~ 😎👍🤙
I meant least likely but make a game out of & surprise alot of people~ 🤣 I always enjoyed alot of games based on both tv show's & movie's ironically~ 😎🤙 Nah I like both old school & new school tv show's but more so the older tv show's particularly from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, & early to mid 2000 era even though I'm a 90's kid. I also loved watching Amen, The Wayans Bros, Masha & The Bear, The Facts Of Life, Ed, Edd, N Eddy (I have the all of the seasons on DVD & am watching the fan made sequel on YouTube: PeachCreek). I'm in my mid 30's but look maybe 18 or 19. So I've been told repeatedly by different people~ 🤷♀️✌️
Your right~ 🤷♀️ That was part of the reason why I liked the gameboy & gameboy color games so much back then in the early 2000's plus upgrading to the original GBA made my day because I could play all 3 gameboy, gameboy color, & GameBoy Advance games back then. I played way more cartoon games than 1st party games back then lol~ 🤣

Oh yes, there are endless piles of Batman video games, but I was hoping specifically for the 1960's Batman TV show starring Adam West. It had a uniquely goofy BIFF! POW! ZOWIE!!! aesthetic that was so fun to watch as a kid, very different from all the grimdark Batman shows, movies, and games out there. "Same bat time, same bat channel!!"
It would be impossible to make, though - you'd have to license all those actors' likenesses - Vincent Price, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Julie Newmar, Eartha Kitt - and most of them are long passed away by now.

(player name is Beesh)
this is kind of the reverse, but i've been playing Gravity Rush on my PS Vita (which i just bought too), and i think it would make a cool show. Though they are apparently making a move based on it, so we'll see how that turns out.
Uhh my dad saw it to & when I mentioned it to him he started singing the theme song to batman~ 🤣 There's a few show's I'd love to see from 60's & 70's on switch: The Munsters, The Ropers, Three's Company, The Jefferson's, Welcome Back Kotter, Maude, All In The Family, & Mork & Mindy. I know on Tubi app they have: The Ropers, The Jefferson's, Welcome Back Kotter. I watch: The Ropers every night while I eat dinner. Both Helen & Stanley are my favorite characters. To bad they passed away they were awesome on Three's Company as well~ 🥰
Never heard of it but to my credit. I only had a psp about 15 year's ago. Graphics were beautiful on it but couldn't get used to the control's & eventually traded it in sadly. Is the ps vita region free & worth playing? Or to old school? I called gamestop a few month's ago & they told me they stopped selling ps vita & haven't sold them in year's. 🤔🤷♀️✌️
@Barbiegurl777 It is region free. I would recommend it, but they are kind of expensive. I payed $104 just for mine, but it did come with a 16gb memory card, so that's nice. If you want to know more about ps vitas, i might tell you on the PlayStation thread.
