I'm confused, mochi, are you asking us what the best sequel we played is or are you asking if any of us played the Mario or Zelda series of games? If it's the former, then I go with Super Mario Galaxy 2; if it's the latter, the answer is "yes"

To each their own

Reala

Most improved sequel think I'd go with Streets of Rage 2.

Tales of the Abyss from Legendia was a major step forward in terms of story and gameplay.
Sonic 2 was an immense step forward in terms of speed and level design over Sonic 1.
Super Robot Wars Z2: Destruction Chapter combines all the best elements of prior games to create the best portable entry in the series.
Final Fantasy 3 (NES/DS) improved a lot of little things over Final Fantasy 2, as well as bringing back older elements of the series and expanding on them.
A Link to the Past still wins as the most improved sequel ever, though, removing everything that was wrong with the previous games and bringing so much more to the table.

The best sequel I've ever played is hands down Pikmin 2. It fixed everything wrong with Pikmin 1, improved everything that was already right, and brought loads of its own brilliance to the table. One of the greatest Miyamoto creations of all time!

Fable 2
^The freedom to do almost anything, granted i never played the first or third game, but it's still a great game.

The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
^The Masks were great, especially the Zora mask.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3
^Still my favorite Sonic game.

Super Castlevania IV
^Whipping in multiple directions? Yes!

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
^A lot more complex than people might think,if you play like the old days, then you'll probably get beaten in a few seconds online.

In terms of most improved sequel I've played I'd say maybe Super Smash Bros. Melee. I mean, the original Smash Bros. was great, but Melee just took it to a whole new level.

Any sequel that adds a lot to/gets rid of the flaws of a game I really liked.

so Assassin's Creed 2, SMB3, the Layton sequels, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Megaman 2 and 3, Kirby's Adventure, Advance Wars 2 and DS etc.

And also RE4 since it's a favorite of mine and I don't even like other RE games. While not quite as amazing, same for Kid Icarus Uprising. Red Dead Redemption is also a sequel, but no one cares about the previous game.

I still think Brawl's biggest problem was both Nintendo and the Smash Bros. Dojo making the game the most overhyped game ever.

Well that and the fact it should have fixed it's online issues and been delayed until the summer so that the Wii didn't die for most hardcore gamers at that time and it wouldn't have to compete with Nintendo's other biggest major multiplayer series (Mario Kart Wii) which came out literally the next month yet somehow had far better online.

Yeah, my problems with Brawl were a) the online. I mean that was its big thing, yet I don't think I ever had a match that wasn't ruined by lag or that I had to wait ages in the lobby for opponents. Particularly disappointing having played it straight after the pure bliss of Mario Kart Wii's online system and b) this may be a bit silly, but I don't like the fact that there are two non-Nintendo characters in it. Even though they're characters I like, I just think Smash Bros. should be the Nintendo universe only. For that reason Melee is the purer Smash Bros. in my eyes.

Metroid Prime Corruption. I still haven't beat it yet. I'm about 50% done. It's amazing.

Snake was especially unfitting, It would of made more sense to include Mega Man, Simon Belmont or Bill Rizer from Contra since the 3 have been blazing it up on Nintendo consoles ever since the NES.

But... so has Snake?

Well Assassins Creed 2 is the most improved over it's predecessor in my opinion. But I can also respect a game that continues a winning formula like Metroid Prime 2. To answer your other question, I have played good series games.

There were actually two games. Three if you count Snake's Revenge. But it's never about how many games are on the consoles but how good the games are. Hideo Kojima actually wanted Snake in Melee but due to time restrictions, it wasn't pursued. And it's not about who deserve to be in Smash Bros. but who is willing to include their character. Sega and Hideo offered their mascots for Nintendo's fighting game. Capcom could have easily included Mega Man but since they couldn't sell him as DLC, Capcom didn't want to do it. lol
