Played some Sonic Rumble today, they have a NiGHTS event going on, so I played some of it and unlocked Metallic Purple NiGHTS with some red star rings I had saved up from playing.

This evening, more Wario Land 3, used my new ability to ground pound to reach areas in Out of the Woods and The Vast Plain, and got introduced to the golf mini-game. I had to use the rewind feature for it. I got the second treasure chest in both. I also did A Town In Chaos and unlocked the first chest there. I also unlocked A Pool of Rain, but I don't think I can clear it yet. Wario just floats in the water. Also, Wario is immortal. The guy gets hit by enemies, but never dies.

Tonight I played some more Hollow Knight. Been making a healthy amount of progress, but I came across a difficult boss... I was unprepared for it, and I died and lost all my Geo. The dark spirit was pretty deep into the boss room, too... I had no choice but to step in, beat the dark spirit to get my Geo back, and do a rematch with the boss. Unfortunately, I died again. Thankfully, I did find a way to beat the dark spirit without facing the boss, so it's all good now. I'll try that boss fight again next time.

That was a lot of Geo, by the way... I did not want any of it gone for good, and I probably would have quit the game because of that. And it's something that I do not want to do.

@Sunsy Yeah definitely, I've always thought Wario was a villain because of that game. Turns out he's more of an anti-hero, so to speak. That is odd for sure... yeah, Wario Land 1 and 2 aren't on Nintendo Classics yet. But I'm sure they'll put them in sooner or later.

I had the urge to replay Mario Odyssey. I started Saturday and I am already over 700 moons in. Maybe this will be the play through I finally 100% it? I do have those annoying Koopa races to do though...

New game tonight, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified on PC. A prequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

I was talking to a friend about playing some XCOM games, and he recommended this one. By chance the game was on sale for a few bucks, so I grabbed it. So far, it's good. It's third person tactical shooter, and I never played a tactical shooter before. The game plays like a third person shooter, but you have a squad that you can command to take out the aliens. I like how it has a tactical element, which makes it feel a bit like the XCOM strategy games.

Also, good story about an agent being attacked by an alien, only to join XCOM and having to investigate alien attacks, while taking place in the early 1960's giving the game a cool style. Good game, I'm having fun with these other XCOM games, even though I'm enjoying the strategy originals.

@D-Star92 I hope they do add them, for now I'm enjoying Wario Land 3 so far. Though stuck on the A Pool of Rain level, Wario just floats in the water. I'm guessing I need to find an upgrade or something to swim. I just got the ground pound upgrade which led me to new areas in two levels and the golf mini-game.

I just defeated the boss I mentioned earlier in Hollow Knight and made some more progress after that. I've also been getting into the habit of doing the charge slash, especially during boss fights... something that I actually forgot about. Looks like I'll have to pretend that I'm playing Mega Man Zero to stand a chance, haha.

Also been playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario Kart World tonight. Got some more stars in SMG2, and even a Peach Medallion in MKW. Also learned that The Disney Afternoon Collection downloaded on my Switch 2! Too bad I can't play it until next Thursday though, lol.

@Sunsy Good to hear you're enjoying it! It's been a while since I last finished that game... I remember that golf minigame being tricky. Glad to hear you're enjoying that XCOM game too.

I now only have two party members left to get in Dragon Quest XI S before I get my entire party back 🎉!

However, it has now been announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are going to be released on the eShop for Pokémon Day. As a massive Pokémon fan whose favorite media franchise is Pokémon, I want to pick up LeafGreen and play it, especially since that's a Pokémon game that I haven't played yet. And since I already have enough money for it sitting in my eShop wallet, it might actually be the first game that I play on launch day, which is an exciting prospect.

My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)

Played more of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified this morning. Enjoyed it last night, that I decided to play a bit more and complete the second mission. Did get stuck when the game wasn't clear about hot-wiring a door to open it, but figured it out. I was using the tatical commands, when I should have clicked the menu that popped up. Also there are story elements where you talk to others and choose what to say.

Not a major game, but worth noting since I played it today, Super Fighter, an old freeware fighting game from the DOS era on PC. Did a playthrough on easy this afternoon, and made for some classic fighting action.

@D-Star92 I had to use the rewind with the golf, I could not figure out how to get Wario to hit the ball, lol. I am, I like the XCOM strategy games, so The Bureau is different, and I'm liking it.

Played more Hollow Knight, and... oh no... the banker is gone... I was in the middle of doing the hive area, and I wanted to deposit my Geo, only to find out I can't do it. Not only that, but the Forgotten Crossroads got infected, and it's not a pretty sight. The enemies are tougher, and some of them even blow up. I even saw that one of the passageways is blocked off. Despite besting the Hive Knight after a few tries, the banker still hasn't returned and the Crossroads is still a mess. This is gonna get interesting.

@Sunsy I can't blame you, I think I used restore points when I played the game on my 3DS. Glad to hear you're enjoying The Bureau, looks like you've made some decent progress. Never heard of Super Fighter, though I did look it up. That's a Street Fighter II clone, huh?

Last night, made some chocolate milk and enjoyed some X-COM: UFO Defense during my weekly classic game session. Did some turn based battles and blasted some Sectoids with lasers for fun.

This morning, started another playthrough of Tuff E Nuff, played five levels making it halfway through the game. Stopped to watch the Olympic hockey game, so I used a suspend point so I can finish the playthrough later.

@D-Star92 Rewind did come in handy. I kept making Wario fall over anytime I tried to hit the enemy in the golf mini-game. I am, it's cool The Bureau is a prequel to XCOM as a series, taking place in the early 1960's, I like the style of it because of it.

It pretty much is, even though it's its own game and has its own arenas and fighters. Was looking up DOS Fighting games recently, since it's licensed as freeware, gave it a try. It wasn't bad. I do find it amusing I see DOS gamers prefer Super Fighter over the DOS Street Fighter II port published by US Gold. After seeing a review of that port, I can see why. It's not a good port.

I am in (Balfonheim) now and I did some sidequests. Won 100 races against pirates in the afternoon, and did some fishing in the evening. Forgive me for taking your fishing rod grandpa!

This afternoon, finished the game of Tuff E Nuff I started this morning.

Also, it's snowing again, which put me in the mood to play some more SNES games. I can't be the only one who gets in the mood to play classic games when it snows. I played through Fighter's History, Big Run, and did another round of Tuff E Nuff on Nintendo Classics this evening. Got the furthest I've ever got in Big Run, I was almost near the end of the game. Fighter's History is fun, even if it's a Street Fighter clone, and Tuff E Nuff has become one of my favorites to play.

Nice evening being snowed in and gaming.

Snowed in, so played some games after my chores. This morning played more X-COM: UFO Defense and finally got to manufacture and use plasma rifles. Feels good using alien tech against them. Also, entered a UFO surrounded by four Snakemen, with some clever use of the UFO's walls as cover, and firing by the door, I got all four of them.

This afternoon, played some F-Zero and Fighter's History on Nintendo Classics. Played the Knight and Queen leagues for fun in F-Zero, and did a playthrough of Fighter's History.

Know what's funny, I have Johnny Turbo's Arcade: Fighter's History on my Switch before it got delisted, and I prefer this SNES version because I can actually make progress in it, while the Johnny's Turbo Arcade version is the arcade one and is hard because it still thinks it's a machine trying to suck every quarter out of me. Just a funny observation.

Explored the Cerobi-Steppe and found new ammunition types. Still so much in love with the world, it feels so natural and comforting. Sometimes I just stop and enjoy the moment.

Decided to visit the wonderful world of Disney, so I played some Disney Dreamlight Valley last weekend. It's been a while since I played it, plus I got a little burnt out from Animal Crossing (even though I still love it). It runs a bit better on Switch 2 as well... so I'm definitely looking forward to the Switch 2 upgrade pack. Also played some Super Mario Galaxy 2.

@Sunsy Oh that's cool, it takes place in the 60s huh? I've always liked old-timey stuff so I might like playing it. Always loved the art style of Cuphead, with how it pays homage to classic Disney and Fleischer cartoons.

Ah wow, that reminds me of how bad those DOS Mega Man games looked, lol. I never played them, but I've seen videos of them. Also, strangely enough, there's Mega Man 1 and 3 on DOS... but no Mega Man 2. I haven't the slightest idea.

I've been grinding more levels in Dragon Quest XI S Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition today, of course. Though I also started playing the Switch version of Super Neptunia RPG. I'm taking my time, so I didn't get too far today. Didn't even leave the first dungeon, and my only party member is just level 5. Also, I'll definitely put the game (and DQ11) on pause when Pokémon LeafGreen comes out, since I did pre-order it, after all 😛.

Who cares that I just played through the PS4 version of Super Neptunia RPG just a few months ago, the game is just that good

All morning, I played more of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified on PC. Finished a mission I started and then did the next major mission, New Mexico. What a mission! I started out in an early 1960's New Mexico all destroyed by aliens, and as I progressed, I went deep into an humongous alien base. It was really cool and terrifying at the same time. Not scary, but the way I went from a town to an alien base left that impression. I didn't even feel like I was in New Mexico anymore.

This afternoon, played more Wario Land 3. I figured out The Pool of Rain, and I got the grey chest. Then I did the Grasslands, which confused me since I had no idea I had to get Wario crushed to float into the tight area, ended up using a walkthrough (having a manual for game mechanics would have helped), and got the grey chest. Then I did The Big Bridge for its grey chest, I went back to The Pool of Rain to get the red chest, and back to The Vast Plain to get the green chest. That fire spitting sun is more evil than the sun in Super Mario 3, you cannot change my mind.

Made some progress on two of the games I'm playing.

@D-Star92 Don't know if you would, The Bureau is more of a mature shooter taking place in the 1960's. All the early 1960's style is there, from the towns to the cars, to even vending machines. I do like the setting because of it.

I remember the Mega Man DOS games, seen videos of them before. Capcom had it rough when getting their early games ported to PC.
