Went back to playing Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! (Mobile) and currently taking a break from Yo-kai Watch. I haven’t been playing Colorful Stage for a bit, so they added a ton of new songs on there and I enjoyed what I played, though I am having a bit of a hard time getting used to a new type of note called a trace note that they introduced in a big update last month. I still have a few more songs to clear, but I really liked a lot of the new songs they introduced. I have a couple of other games I do want to start playing later on, but I’ll just focus on that and Yo-kai Watch later.

If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Toothy from Happy Tree Friends.

Disney's Epic Mickey
Happy Halloween , everyone! I started the game today and it is even better than the original. Feels much more pleasant to move around.
I'm currently playing Metro 2033 and I'm not getting on well with it. I love the theme but I'm not enjoying the gameplay. I'm only up to chapter 2, or 3 and already there's been 3 parts that have annoyed me. Like the part near the start where it tells you to arm yourself as creatures come through the vents. i couldn't even find the gun, blink and you'd miss it.
I don't like the feel of the game either. Little things, like the way your walking speed just briefly changes, depending on the surface you're on. I thought it was something wrong with my controller at first,.but nope. And the gunplay just doesn't feel satisfying to me.
I will persist with it for another couple of chapters, it may click eventually. It's rare for me to have a negative experience like this with a game so highly rated.
@OorWullie
Ah yes…Metro 2033 was a clunky, drab and dreary FPS. Pretty depressing color palette throughout but it suits the atmosphere and mood I guess. It’s just a dated experience by today’s standards. Those mutated creatures u face are thrown at u annoyingly in droves. The story is actually pretty decent and it’s not a terrible game but like u said the gameplay is overall unsatisfying and unrewarding. I still have Metro Last Light on backlog. After I finished Metro 2033 I had no desire to bother with Last Light and that hasn’t changed.
@Rainz I persisted with it and l have to say, I'm actually quite enjoying it now.haha. I'm up to Chapter 4. Playing it as a stealthy sniper instead of an all action hero is definitely more enjoyable. It is certainly drab but like you say ,it suits the mood.
I'll see how I feel once I've finished with it and give my final impressions. But as things stand now , I'm keen to see how Last Light compares. It's supposed to be more action orientated but also has larger open levels and more variety. Hopefully it'll feel a little less clunky to control too.
Monster Hunter Stories
Around ten hours in, good stuff so far. The rock-paper-scissors attack system make things more interesting than your typical spam-attack rpg experiences.
Forgive Me Father
An Eldritch flavored boomer-shooter. I was surprised when I had to restart my game on the lowest difficulty. Stage 2 even on normal difficulty was surprising difficult.
Monster Hunter Wilds beta
Amazing. Appears to be an early contender for GotYs next year despite performance issues. Going to sell like hotcakes. I don't doubt it'll become Capcom's all-time best selling game. Yes, even more than World's 25 million copies sold.
Sixtar Gate: Startrail
Adventure mode took less than an hour. I'm not a fan of four note lanes becoming five note lanes in certain spots. Throws me off my rhythm every time.

I've been playing Voidwrought. It's an amazing 8/10 game, but it's not as good as I had hoped, largely because the developers played it too safe with the implementation of powers and generally limited things too much. I find it utterly pointless collecting a ton of powers when only two or three can be equipped at once. This kind of gaming philosophy also forces you to limit the capabilities of both the regular enemies and the bosses, resulting in the game growing stale and a lack of any feeling of empowerment.
I really wish more Metroidvanias handled the implementation of powers and abilities the way Metroid does
@OorWullie
The same thing happened to me, the story and atmosphere drew me in. I played a similar steathly sniper like style…straight up a Ghost! I did finish the game and I believe at the time I was playing this and Alien: Isolation so very tense and atmospheric games…I just never ended up getting to Metro Last Light. I’m sure it’s good…it's just hard to get motivated to play it knowing I’m settling for an outdated gaming experience. Hope u get the best ending!
I’m currently playing Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and it’s amazing!! It’s gotta be one of the best looking games on Switch, let alone an exclusive. It’s got a unique gameplay loop where u have to control 2 characters individually. The combat and puzzle solving elements are really neat, overall it’s been an absolute joy to play. I’m glad I snagged a physical copy on sale. Don’t sleep on this one!
In between my play through it’s been more KILL KNIGHT…no one else is playing this gem 💎(cowards! 😝) so I’ve taken it upon myself to slay every layer below Hell for ya’ll!
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - I resumed this one over the weekend after a (according to my save file) two week break. I took out the fourth dungeon boss, found another heart piece, unlocked outfits, properly explored Hyrule Castle Town - hadn't been there since the intro section - and am now merrily on my way to the ranch for a side quest before heading to Kakariko Village and Eldin Volcano.
Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir (Switch) - I picked this one up along with FDC: The Girl Who Stands Behind. The plot starts out slow with the classic "Your character has amnesia" trope, but now he's back on his feet...just as the plot thickens. I'm currently at the very beginning of Chapter 6. What started as an investigation into a matriarch's death has turned into a murder investigation....
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Now that I have beaten Visions of Mana and Unicorn Overlord, I am taking a little break from rpg games (sorry Mario and Luigi). I started playing Sonic Frontiers and I like it. The music is cool.
Edit: Sonic X season 1 and the two new Sonic movies arrived today. These are my first 4k Ultra HD movies, so I am excited to watch them. Seems like it is Sonic time for a while. The way he gives a thumbs up on the cover of the movies looks so cool and cute.
@Arcwave I saw the Phantasy Star 0 game in a store before, but I never heard about the series before. Have you beaten it?
I play lots of Nintendo games, and Playstation games too. Mostly platformers, and rpg's. Also love playing multiplayer games with my friends!

First impressions of the first half an hour of the experience has been rough. Combat has zero finesse; no lock-on system (making single-target spells useless), just a soft-lock for melee attacks. Every enemy encounter becomes a battle of attrition between your damage and health versus the enemy's damage and health. There are no options whatsoever (no volume slider, no key rebind, no accessibility options, nothing). It all feels like a mid to high-tier student project.
If the key selling points to your experience are pop culture references and having f*** and/or s*** in your dialogue every five minutes are the highlights, it's going to get really stale really f****** fast.
I have been playing Dragon Quest XI S for the last few days. I'm around 22 hours in and just made it to the open ocean.. I am not a huge JRPG fan but I'm in love with this game. Everything about it is just top tier. Definitely the best JRPG I've ever played and quite possibly ,one of my top 10 Switch games.
