A few I do recall watching was AntDude and The Act Man. I mainly watched AntDude for his platformer game videos and Banjo-Kazooie videos, in fact, I think watching those videos made me really interested in the games before I started played them two years ago. He also did do some videos where he bought Switch shovelware games and a lot of the games included in there were interesting lol.

I have watched some of videogamedunkey’s videos, but I wouldn’t say that I’m a longtime viewer of his videos, but, I think that the videos I have watched from his channel were kinda funny, especially his “dunkviews” on bad video games, his Bubsy 3D review being a very notable one.

There are a few more YouTube channels I like watching that are themed around gaming, but some of them talk more about non-gaming related topics, so I don’t know if they would count here.

EDIT: Okay, also forgot to mention Thomas Game Docs on here after seeing a few of the other replies. I haven’t watched him in a while, but I loved his Nintendo videos, especially his Mario ones.

I don't get round to watching as much YouTube these days as I used to, but I really like Game Maker's Toolkit and Scott the Woz.

Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music

Almost Something.
Geek Critique.
Thomas Game Docs. (Excellent if you love Voice acting)

Aside from Nintendo and Nintendo Life, these are the gaming people I sub to and really think are great.

So I am based in the UK, and actually only 'religiously' follow one gaming YT channel, and one podcast.

The YT channel is "Happy Console Gamer", really cool older american guy - just focussing on what he is playing (tilts towards JRPGs, but fairly varied) https://www.youtube.com/HappyConsoleGamer

The podcast is WhatCulture Gaming, UK based, and really excellent

Mattamorphic

Absolutely love watching triple jump - https://youtube.com/@teamtriplejump?si=p1XmAGtU4VK2RDeq (UK based, pretty wholesome, worst games ever makes me cackle with laughter)
Scott the woz does primarily Nintendo content and lots of slots
Digital Foundry for all the tech coverage
Switch up for switch reviews and sales
Physical paradise for physical release updates

Tasuki

I don't watch much gaming YouTube channels anymore most because the ones I did watch are either no longer around or don't put out much. That said I tend to watch the following.

Scott The Woz
Cinemassacre (AVGN mainly)
Pat the NES Punk
Bellular Warcraft (For my WoW news and such)
Xclusive Ace (For CoD)
Nero's Cinema (CoD)

Other then that the only other Youtubers I watch are wrestling Youtubers.

RetiredPush Square Moderator and all around retro gamer.

My Backlog

SNES drunk - for straightforward and honest reviews
videogamedunkey - for a good laugh
Scott the Woz - for passionate and well produced comedic retrospectives and sketches
Let's Game It Out - for funny glitches

-TheStrawHatNo (I bring them up first because they're by far the most obscure one I watch, even if I don't watch them as much as I used to. They are a gold standard for Let's Plays imo)
-A lot of the TRG side of Youtube (despite a very awkward 2024)
-Scott the Woz
-Caddicarus
-GVG
-Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu
-SuperBunnyHop (if you like the smarter side of Youtube content)

@CJD87 HappyConsoleGamer is what we need more of from content creators. Simply passionate, and a storyteller. Btw, he’s actually a Canadian with roots in the UK lives in Vancouver, and I believe he periodically visits his grandma in England.

@CJD87 Happy Console Gamer is the only gaming channel I watch too. I love the guy's passion. You can tell it's genuine. I've been watching him since he only had around 30k subscribers and he'd been doing it for a lot of years already by that point. His channel has grown massively in the last couple of years..Well deserved.

@Enriesto - he is just such a standup guy right? No weird gimmicks or cheesy catchphrases... just seems a really sound lad, with a lovely missus as well! I had no idea of UK roots, like him even moreso now

@OorWullie he's great right? I enjoy how he is fairly balanced as well, in terms of avoiding 'console war' hyperbole, and instead acknowledges the wealth of riches among the big 3.
