@jump I mean, the anime itself isn't good at all. It butchers a lot of characters, and the 4Kids Dub censors the deaths. The manga itself though is really good, and pretty brutal. Not even series 0 was able to have half the stuff in the manga animated, given that it wouldn't fly on tv.

@Snatcher The JP version is better than the 4Kids one, but it's still not as good as the original manga on the terms of characters and consistency between Season 0 and Duel Monsters.

@Snaplocket Are we talking about the manga itself, or the games? Since in the manga there were two deaths, and one that was undetermined, due to happening off-screen. One of the deaths was due to a game involving a criminal at a fast food joint, where the guy burned to death for cheating in the shadow game.
Then you have the instance where some guy takes the spot that his friends had for the school fair, causing a game of ice hockey to happen, with the stove being the arena, and the puck being made out of ice with gunpowder. The lose ended up effectively burning to death as well.
Then you have the guy at the store, who sells Joey some expensive shoes, but ultimately scams them back, causing another shadow game where they have to plunge their hand in the shoe, with a live scorpion inside of it. It's unknown if the guy dies or not, since the scorpion had toxins in it, and ended up stinging him at the end of the game.
Oh, there's also the boy with the dragon jar, who ends up having his soul taken by said jar.
Usually, Yugi doesn't kill that many people, with his games usually inflicting mental torture onto the loser, or cheater of the game itself. Most notably when Kaiba lost the first time when playing Duel Monsters with Yugi, and Yugi inflicted the sensation of death upon Kaiba, making him feel as if he were dying constantly, and causing him to go practically insane in the process.

@Snatcher Oh wait, that’s not Yu Gi Oh. I’m thinking of Beyblade. My bad, I got confused with all the talk of Yu Gi Oh being really dark, twisted and brutal. ;p
