I started making one and then I realised my tastes just really aren't that unpopular or there are a bunch of categories I've never really thought of before.
BioShock is my favourite game of all time.
The Division 2 is the live service I will always come back to. I know it is cool to hate on, but to this day, I have never played any game in any genre that has offered me more or better meaningful and viable build diversity. Even with the gear rework, which is far inferior to the original.
I was raised on the Megadrive and PS1, but probably wouldn't be the gamer I am today without Pokemon Blue.
I think Monster Hunter World has one of the greatest gaming OSTs of all time, even if I think the game itself may be one of the most overrated of all time.
I like Pokemon Shield, I know a lot don't. In fact, I wish more JRPGs were allowed to just be pure turn based, too many real time hybrids or gimmicky games these days.
I thought Witcher 3 was tedious af, but I know a lot of people consider it one of the greatest games ever.
Destiny was not a great game overall, but raiding in Destiny for the first time will be one of my fondest online gaming memories for the rest of my life.
I like BioMutant more than Breath of the Wild.
I love Kassandra and Ichiban, but Arthur Morgan is one of the best realised protagonists in games or really any medium.
I will never forget Atlas' betrayal in the original BioShock, even if Fontaine may not be a great villain individually.
I could give any number of those categories to the Last of Us and Red Dead 2, even though I don't really enjoy playing either title.
The relationship between Joel and Ellie and Arthur Morgan represent some of the best writing and performances across gaming and any medium.
Also if you're trying to post it as an image, try right clicking the image to open it in a new tab, copy the url over and put .jpg at the end (in addition to the whole (img) (/img) mumbo jumbo). Hope that helps!
@Fizza Not entirely sure I understand that meme format. So, like, do you post the hardest game you've ever played, or the hardest game that you'd almost count among your favorites?
Currently Playing: The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (PC)
@Ralizah I'd assume it's the latter though if you've only disliked the hardest games you've ever played, I suppose you could put an asterisk on it to clarify. I love Dead Cells myself but it's also one of the most brutal games I've ever played, hence why I stuck it there. I literally just searched up 'favourite game template' on Google and that was the first one that came up which is why I went with it.

I plugged this link into this website via the 'Upload New Template' bar and that worked out pretty well for me. Just paste images in via the 'Add Image' bar and you'll be good to go. I'm very excited to see what you say!
@Ralizah I just took it to mean the hardest game you've played in general, as not all of the categories relate to favourite games specifically. If it was the hardest game that's also one of my favourites I'd have chosen Celeste. (Is it an unpopular opinion that Monkey Ball is harder than Celeste?)
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
I enjoyed making this. I did struggle picking most depressing game, because I'm not really depressed when gaming...so I took that more in terms of atmosphere. Metroid Prime Hunters and Metroid Prime: Federation Force are both top tier games in the Metroid Series in terms of single player, and I almost put Metroid: Other M for best voice acting just because...but I knew that would be going too far.

@I-U I'll tell you what, Metal Face was actually a pretty good villain. Entertaining, made your skin crawl, terrifying at first, the perfect enemy for the first 60% of the game.

Metal Face got me immersed into Xenoblade's story early. I don't know of another game that I've played where I've been as motivated to progress simply to engage with a villain. I also made a file in XC:DE that I don't intend to progress in that stays before the Colony 9 attack, because before and after is such a contrast...I want a laid back, good times file to grind in from time to time.
Metal Face's impact is something I've been missing from XC2. I did pick the game back up prior to the release of XC3, and sank another 15-20 hours into it...but I'm just not getting drawn in to the extent that I would like, especially compared to the first game. I haven't picked the game up again since getting into Chapter 4 a few weeks ago, in which the game seems to be trying to be serious with Tora but I get taken out of that with one of the early boss fights, so...yeah, I don't know if I should continue in the hopes that the game gets amazing later on or just move on to XC3, which I'm hearing is the best of the series.

@I-U XC2 gets good. It has a ton of humor that weighs down the plot, but at the ending it's really good. It has one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise, and the villain is still my favorite, even after beating 3.

Nah, I recommend playing 2 all the way! It's a great game in its own right and the story is pretty good too. As for the tone, I think that's why I kinda put 2 down a little compared to the other games.
As for Metal Face, I like your reasoning! The reason I think he works so well is that his actions seemed to have real and meaningful consequences, at least for the first half of the game. He was very theatrical as well, and loved to savour every moment of despair he gave the party. I think his reasoning for hating Dunban is a little simple, but sometimes that's all it takes. I honestly wish he lived a bit longer though, there's no reason why he could have lasted until Agniratha. But then again at the point he died the story kinda changed from "Mechonis is our enemy" to "what are we even fighting for?" and him dying solidified that shift.
Here's an unpopular opinion. This site gets insufferable within a three month window of any Pokemon release; with this year having the two Pokemon titles release and NL giving the same treatment to Splatoon, it kinda makes me wish Nintendo didn't exist. I don't want to be water-boarded by one or two franchises when there are a ton of cool games on the Switch that deserve similar attention.
I'm getting extremely tired of Switch Pro or Switch 2 rumors. It feels like people are just clinging to them because they want to waste money on a more powerful console that'll be scalped in a heartbeat. It's annoying to be excited for a game, and then for people to say that they think it'll get delayed because it's going to be a launch title for the new Switch... when there's no proof of that even being the case.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
This is true of a large amount of gaming discussion arguably but speculation on specs for an unconfirmed Switch upgrade feels very much like one of those "I am wasting my life just reading this" situation. Just play some games or become a PC nerd.
At least with Wii U it was obvious by 2015 the system was partially dead, so there wasn't as much to do. Nowadays there's like 1000 more games worth playing then you'll ever play, even if Switch stopped getting software right now.
also tbh, I almost feel like Nintendo could never release any new system ever and I'd just be fine with this one. The longer Nintendo keeps this one around, the longer I can avoid paying hundreds of dollars on a new one, which money saved, so its objectively good if this is the current Nintendo system for all eternity. :V
@kaisu I'm probably going to start tuning it out more in a while. It's just sad to see it brought up every single time someone just tries to talk about a game they're excited to play.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
The thing is, we knew the Switch was coming because Nintendo announced it in 2015. That was probably more for the benefit of investors than the likes of us, because there were concerns at the time that they might be going more heavily into mobile development than they eventually did, but we still knew it was coming that far in advance.
Current speculations about Switch Pro/2/whatever are based on nothing though, or at least nothing official. You can by all means look at what technology is out there, and what benefits it could potentially bring to a Switch successor, but without knowing whether Nintendo would want to use it, it's all just speculation.

You mean some people don't want to pay 400$ to shell out 90$ for deluxe versions of Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Smash Ultimate, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
@VoidofLight after all the "switch pro is necessary and inevitable" bs from 2021 i just started ignoring people that kept bringing mid-gen upgrades on every topic
My favorite was the weirdo who told me last year that I'd INEVITABLY feel the need to get a more powerful system with what PS5 has in a year or so. Because no gamer could like a video game that isn't big budget AAA game on Playstation and Xbox!!!!111!!! Even after explaining that Final Fantasy VII remake part 2 being out and Beyond Good and Evil 2 still existing are basically the only games that will sell me on one.
