@kkslider5552000 i think it would just get a bit too crowded and disorganized in there if we didnt include seperate game threads. helps us talk more clearly 🤷🏻♂️

@N00BiSH Tizzy? Did you mean Dizzy? Some games of city trial in the original made me motion sick even if I was watching and not playing, but I haven't had problems with this, probably because the camera and shading is better.
@Sylamp It's an old southern/englandish way of saying frustrated that makes the target out to be childish over something small. On television you'd see it being used by grandmothers with curly hair, or men in cowboy hats. or a 60s way of saying that the teenagers want to rush the mall and take no prisoners over the latest fad. Similar to pop culture today.
@N00BiSH
Interesting. I was definitely on the fence about it given they didn't say anything about split screen. Seemed like an odd omission. But if it has it that makes it significantly more compelling
Whether or not I need another local multiplayer arcade like racing game in addition to Fast Fusion and Mario Kart World is another question.....

Saw the Direct, I don't think its something for me. It still seems to have the "simplistic" controls of the original, wich surprised me. And the graphics look like stuff you could already do on the old Switch (it does move very fast though). Its super fast, but also very chaotic. Basically I saw Sakurai tearing up a stage in little more then a minute, I had no idea what was going on. Yes, I am getting old. Though I still want to see a new F-zero, I found this whole presentation to be to fast and chaotic (and very spoilerific with all the characters, power-ups and vehicles). Maybe, maybe I still get it if there's a solid single-player (they teased a villain at the end) but the whole presentation just made me tired.
2 Questions: If HAL isn't working on this, what is HAL doing (besides the Forgotten land upgrade)?
This is the big holiday title, so that means Prime 4 has been delayed again?! That would be a bummer.

1. I assume they're working on the next Kirby Platformer. There are always upcoming Kirby games at pretty regular intervals and they tend to intersperse platformers with various spinoffs. Whether the next game is 2D or 3D is certainly a question but a 2026 or 2027 game is basically guaranteed.
2. This is a November game and family holiday sales will definitely help it, but I wouldn't call it an ultra big holiday game. I wouldn't be shocked if Prime 4 released either 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after this game — the target audience isn't really the same and having too medium-big games (as well as Pokemon in October) would give plenty of options. Fundamentally, the actual big holiday game will be Switch 2 itself, along with MK and Pokemon.
For those in a tizzy about the game not having splitscreen:
I was genuinely so confused why they didn't show this in the Direct, it lists 4 player same system on the website, but good to get full confirmation now. Hopefully we get more announcements on Nintendo Today/the X account!
@PikminMarioKirby Dream Buffet was a much, much smaller game, and I don't often tend to consider one game as an absolute example for a whole genre. It's an outlier, not the norm(an outlier with an online base that pretty much died after the first week IIRC).
"Now I have an obligation to tag along and clear the area if Luigi so much as glances at a stiletto."
@skywake Isn't it? Maybe I'm not paying attention enough, but most kart racers I've played have some kind of local multiplayer/splitscreen option by default. It's rare for me to see a racer without. If you don't mind me asking, are there any notable examples?
@N00BiSH
Not Kart racers, just games in general. Split screen multiplayer in general is not something you can assume for games these days. Most games are online multiplayer first with local multiplayer as an afterthought. And split screen multiplayer just requires additional optimisations that they don't always bother with
Nintendo is generally better at supporting it where it makes sense than others are. But I don't think we can just assume it's there

“your roster of riders includes familiar faces from the world of Kirby, like Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, as well as enemies in the Kirby series like Cappy, Chef Kawasaki, Starman and … well, you’ll just have to play and see who else shows up, won’t you?” -from the official nintendo article for the kirby air riders direct. yall hidin something, huh? 🤔
