Hard mode is fun. Just a few times I had to restart a couple matches a couple times cause I was stubborn that I could still do it. There was like maybe 2 that I really did have to go back because I didn't have the best build (Road Trip).
This is already my favorite Switch 2 game. I've only played for a couple of hours but it is one of the most chaotic and outright fun games I've ever played. Haven't even touched Road Trip yet, so excited!
Got it for my birthday and am having an absolute blast. I'm seeing a pretty diverse variety of riders and machines as opposed to there being a "meta" character, which is a good sign for the longevity and balance of the game. The machine shop is a pretty nifty way to incentivize play, too.
Life's more fun when you use your energy on the things you like.
@BenAV Eventually, I just got done getting all the checklist stuff for Road Trip but still did it on Normal hard cause it would have been a pain to do it on the last difficulty. I think I'm do one more road Trip on hardest and at least get to world 3 where I'm missing that level I haven't gotten to yet.
I'd like to bring up in this thread too, how dramatic the difference the reactions are to this game compared to Metroid Prime 4, despite getting similar review numbers.
Which I kinda understand because of expectations but its still funny. Air Ride's in that 3D Sonic/Pokemon Mystery Dungeon space where getting reliably good reviews at all means it might be a masterpiece.
Y'know, for a guy called Noir Dedede, he doesn't really have much in common with the King outside of his design(and even then I find that suspect). I respect Zorah's taste in characters but still, you'd think they'd take a few pages from the D'eed's playbook when making him the base for their edgy Ridersona. He doesn't pack a hammer and his boss theme, while a banger, is totally unique - it's not some new remix of Dedede's theme.
Basically what I'm trying to say here is that Noir Dedede is a sham who should've been called the Zorah Rider or something else instead. Less interesting, but truer to who this character is.
@scoobdoo That's a shame. I loved the online event with the super-fast Top Ride and played that a lot.
I already thought there were getting to be too many bots in general. I still like Kirby Air Riders quite a bit, but lately I've chosen to play online only when there's events.
