Topic: Kirby Air Riders

This looks absolutely amazing, Builds on the first game perfectly in every way I could have wanted and we havent even seen anything yet. I will be playing this sooooo much when its out!!!!

Definitely glad that the anime music is back.
Believe it or not, I've always thought those tracks are part of City Trial's appeal.

Overall, it looks like I was expecting: Kirby Air Ride amped up to 11 and then some. Let me play as Adeleine and Elfilin and I'm all set.

I'm kinda hopeful the original Air Ride courses make a comeback as retro tracks.
Also, notice how Sakurai didn't present Top Ride? I'm guessing he's saving that for later.

I definitely liked a lot of what was shown. The game looks fantastic visually, with a great art style and a lot of color. I also am a fan of how in depth the gameplay seems to be. But man, based on what we've seen, 70 dollars feels like an insane asking price. Maybe they'll show more before release, but I just can't justify buying it with that hefty of a price tag attached.

@Bigmanfan people said dk banana didnt justify the seventy dollar price tag but after the game released most players agreed it was. hoping kirby will be the same!

@Bigmanfan Sakurai revealed Smash Ultimate's story mode (World of Light) a month before launch in a second game specific Direct, there's plenty of time for more announcements.

@Grumblevolcano Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. Some more game modes or substantial single player content would go a long way.

@OctolingKing13 Were people saying that? I'm happy I wasn't on the side of the internet that was being discussed then lol. But yeah I'm hoping it ends up being worth it, I'm just a little skeptical based on what has been shown so far.

I don't like the 70 dollar price tag, because Smash Ultimate was 60 so that's silly by default. This is not gonna be the Smash Ultimate of Kirby, as much as it maybe wants to be.

I still want it more than most games (quite frankly more than every other Switch 2 game) and considering how much time I put in the original, despite having barely touched it since 2005...either way, Nintendo wins this round, lolz. (please make it 60 Sakurai, I'll buy your DLC, just do it)

If I get a Switch 2, as long as this game doesn't have any major content locked behind updates, I would get it physically.

@OctolingKing13 I don't really find it too weird at all tbh. Sure they're racers, but they both have very different philosophies on display, which in turn means they'll be attracting different audiences.

@OctolingKing13, they're clearing out both the Mario racing game and Kirby racing game now to have breathing room for a new Switch 2 exclusive F-Zero a few years from now! 🤣

Just saw the Direct earlier today. The game looks really good, and I'd love to play it sometime. I'm happy to see City Trial make a return, too. I wonder how many courses are gonna be in the final game though?

My guess is that final cutscene is hinting at a genuine story mode a-la Subspace. Seeing Sakurai’s take on a modern Kirby story would be great. Otherwise, this genuinely looks phenomenal as someone who never played the original, could easily be the best racing game released this year.

I just want to see the Top Ride mode with miniature tracks you loop around in 5-10 seconds. Give me 10 tracks in that mode on top of what was shown and Im good.

I didn't play the original but this game does look good. I like the concept of the player NOT actually driving and instead riding. Vehicle moves forward on it's own and you just turn, boost and blast. This is going on my wish list but not sure if I want another racing game right now. I feel Nintendo is dragging their feet a bit, we have a racing game (MKW), we have a platformer (DKB) now we need an adventure game (Zelda - TOTK Style or Echoes Style).

Does Riders look good? - Absolutely, Will I be getting it? - Possibly, Do we really need another racing game this close to the holiday season? - Probably not.

I do hope they bring nearly all the courses from the original game as well. Like maybe through free updates. I can see them doing that instead of DLC.

I played the heck out of Kirby Air Ride on the gamecube back then. So I would love to see Checker Knights making a grand return.
