SNES controller, easily. More buttons to choose from, plus it marked the debut of shoulder buttons. Definitely one of the best controllers IMO.

2D Mario or 3D Mario?

2D Sonic or 3D Sonic?

Jeez this is a tough call, but I'm gonna say 3D Mario. As much as I love SMB3 and SMW, I feel that there's a lot more standout 3D games than 2D games, especially with the NSMB games kinda blending in with each other. A lot of the 3D Mario games basically have their own experiences, which I appreciate a lot.

Edit: SegaSonicFan ninja'd me, lol. But I'm keeping my 2D/3D Mario answer! Anyway, 2D Sonic for a similar reason - there's more 2D Sonic games I like than 3D ones.
