What I'm about to say are thoughts so if you're interested please post your thoughts.
Before I knew Nintendo, I was playing games at my computer and I never knew about games back then until I came to learn more from the computer. As I learned the Computer, I began loving the system because of the fun games I played back then like Sonic 3D Blast. Then one day my cousin gave me a fan made game called just Mario. It was very different than any other game I've ever played. It had good looking sprites and challenging level design. It may seem weird by many but that was how I was introduced to the Italian plumber. Then my dad got me this video game console at one point of time and that's when I played Super Mario Bros and hence I have been a huge Mario fan. Every commercial that shows up on next console with Mario, it blew my mind. All games I've played back then were something I've never seen in my life at all. I was playing SNES games on pc as well as Genesis back in the day and it was amazing that I could play Super Mario world and that Super Mario RPG was in japanese and me and my bro tried figuring out what we were suppose to do in that game. I played all these great games on PC as well as Super Mario 64 as one of my favorite games of all time. Even my relatives were having great games and we wold talk and play with each other. Then my bro told me how I was playing these games on PC were wrong and that I realized that I never ever wanted to do this sort of thing ever again and do it the right way. So then I got myself a Gamecube and Luigi's Mansion one of my favorite games of all time. I finally got a GBA and it was from that forth on, I was more aware of the company and their systems and I completely sold my PSone because it didn't have one thing.....Mario. I love Mario so much that I decided that whatever i got on pc the wrong way, I'm gonna get it the right way and so I got Super Mario Advance 2 and 4 and Sonic Advance and many great GBA games.
I've been learning a lot of the company's history and this company made me want to become a game designer. I never cared about any other game except Mario because if its a Mario game, count me in cause I'm gonna get it no matter what.
As I grew up I got DS and got myself familiar with more Nintendo franchises like Kirby, Pokemon, Zelda and Professor Layton as well as Golden Sun and WarioWare. But I still would this day get a Mario game whether its a spinoff or whatever. At one point I hated Sonic because he was cooler than Mario and people made fun of Mario and that Sonic stole most of my game ideas until now and since then I love Mario and Sonic games infact Sonic 3 and Knuckles was my favorite game of all time.
When I got the Wii, the only good things were Mario galaxy series and Super Paper Mario and DKCR. that's why I wasn't so impressed like how I was with the gamecube. I feel very weak now that Nintendo doesn't seem to make games like how they use to and its all because they are now focusing on family gaming.
But that doesn't stop me from loving Nintendo because of Mario. Mario makes me smile, laugh and i don't know there's just something about Mario that just makes me happy.
So Nintendo has gotten more friendlier than before putting those guides to help finish a level that's too hard and being extra cautious and now uses technology that is cheap at best and I say so what? if its making people happy, then I don't think this is the problem. If it still has Nintendo stuff, no problem and if it still has Mario, count me in because I love platform games a LOT.
But I only wish that Nintendo can make games like GBA and Gamecube era. I've yet to get 3D world and while I know the phrase "Don't judge a game by its looks" I can't help but be bothered that it looks a lot like 3D land. That said, seeing that I enjoyed 3d land, I'm looking forward to this one as long as its Mario.
To those who are offended by me playing SNES on PC, you need to know that Nintendo is not well known in India and it took me sometime to realize that since I couldn't get SNES or NES back in the day. And if it weren't for my family, I would have never known you, Nintendo and most importantly....Mario. And from now on, I'll never use pc to play Nintendo stuff ever and I'm doing my best to rebuy those games with the eshop as much as possible. I just got today Wario Land, Metroid and 2 and Wario Land 3. And I can tell you that Wario Land 3 is really a fun game and I used my 3DS which is an awesome handheld next to DS.
To those who have played and finished 3D world, can you post your thoughts about it and try to convince me that its not like 3D land one bit? That would be nice.
If this post is bad, then by all means lock it and I apologize for any bad content I posted.
The biggest similarity between 3d world and 3d land is its art style. I was not a fan of 3d land, i thought it was too easy and lacked inspiration. 3d World was completely different. The levels have more inspiration and nintendo creativity. Especially the later you get in the game. The graphics are beautiful, the levels are harder and the new power ups are epic. I love the double cherry and the cat suit. It is most certainly worth the purchase. The multiplayer is also great, with two or three people. Four is too many. I highly recomend the game as it takes the good ideas from 3d land and improves on them.
The problem I have with these posts is that people tend to think that the stuff they grew up with is simply superior to everything else.
For example, some gamers try to claim that MarioKart 64 is better than Super Mario Kart because of nostalgia. I disagreed because I didn't grow up with MK64 and I think it's a terrible game.
I can say that Nintendo's quality of games did not change over the years. They still make fantastic games and 3D World is no exception

I have to disagree. I think the Wii had the best first-party lineup of games since the SNES. We're all nostalgic for the games we grew up with, but that doesn't mean games are worse now than they were back then.
Just to be clear guys, I do love new ways of playing games and I did enjoy Wii games like Super Mario Galaxy series its just that with Nintendo's focus on family gaming more games are becoming easier to play with these guides and that Nintendo keeps recycling the New Super Mario Bros and Wii series with nothing new to feel about it. I loved the original New Super Mario Bros game but why does 2 not feel like a sequel to me?
I am looking forward to the Wii U and I hope to get it soon to get 3D World as well. I can only hope my dad gets it for me....
