I could ... claim that my pencil helps me to find lost items on the ground every time I drop it... just because I might see a penny or a cheeto once in a while as I reach for my fallen pencil is not a reward for any sort of patience with my pencil, nor is it proof that my pencil has listened to my pleas for it to find me money and food.
