@Ryu_Niiyama I'm glad you had a great time in Greece! That's another country I'd like to get to sometime due to all the history and nature. Especially since I really like Greek mythology. Amazing food is always a bonus! It's pretty neat that you ran into a relative while there too. I am sure you more than deserved your time away; I know I look forward to my vacation time, even if traveling is sometimes a bear.
Regarding you potentially leaving: That is completely up to you, and I support whatever decision you think is best for your mental health. I do enjoy our interactions, though like you I have pared down my site activity over time. I completely understand being exasperated with the internet. Like any tool, it has amazing uses. But it unfortunately is also misused daily.

@Nancyboy been to both countries. I recommend either if you are a foodie or a history/mythology buff. Italy has more recent land marks so more stuff is intact (when protesters aren’t trying to damage things anyway) but if you wanna see deep archeological history then Greece is the go to first. I wish you and your family well on future travels.
@Jhena Whoa I’m still in the USA so while it is dry, way too hot (and fires) plus dust/sandstorms if you live in a city (I do) it’s not that bad. Now going on road trip in my current state will remind you real fast that it is a desert (also being homeless which I have been). And since I have to drive a bit for hobbies I keep my truck stocked for emergencies. People do still die out here on the regular from heat exhaustion/heat stroke.
@Pastellioli Always travel if you can. Even if it is within your own country. You’d be surprised how different people are even a short distance away.
@Tyranexx Girl, yes. Getting back sucked. Took me nearly two hours to get through customs and second security screening (I had a connecting flight which I missed) and I slept in the airport simply because i didn’t wanna do TSA again (my mother missed her flight as well, took my mom on vacation with me as it was a bday prezzie and I view my bday as mother’s day for her since she did all the work. ). Still, so much fresh air and beautiful views (air quality is horrible where I live) and the history and mythology is breathtaking. Lots of slippery limestone and marble steps.
Yeah, I’m just getting too old for internet nonsense. I just wanna talk games peacefully.

I will surely miss your posts. Always interesting, always civilized, always cool-headed. Thank you for all! - I'm totally honest, it is always great to read you and to interact with you. These sites (at least for me) won't be the same without your input!
I hope it will be a "temporary goodbye", and yes, it is quieter on Pure (I really post more over there). Please, take care of yourself, have great times and have fun!
@Ryu_Niiyama Oof. I'm glad you and your mom made it through that experience, but dealing with missed or changed flights can be a mess. A friend and I dealt with this over the summer trying to get to Vancouver, BC after we had to change our AA flight connection due to severe storms in Chicago. It wasn't the airline's fault, but we ended up waiting in the airport for seven additional hours from what was supposed to be an early morning flight to a late afternoon one that connected at another airport (Charlotte, NC; way in the other direction!) instead. Customs and especially TSA can be a pain. I've thankfully only had mixed to positive experiences with the former (Trying to navigate Vancouver's passport kiosks isn't easy when one has had a VERY long day and is about to drop), and TSA in general is a mixed bag depending on the airport. I definitely don't like dealing with security as I highly dislike being touched/pat down by strangers (Thankfully this is rare) and am always worried I'll lose something during the screening. Can't blame you for wanting to avoid TSA again. In any case, I'm glad you and your mom had a great time in Greece and got to experience a lot of history, amazing views and air quality, and make some great memories!

@Ryu_Niiyama
Yeah you defininitely have to respect nature, especially in extreme environments like deserts. I am glad to hear that you are prepared, always take care out there.

@Ryu_Niiyama I really just like going to places a lot, it’s fun and one of the best things to ever do! Even just going to places near where I live is so fun.
Wandering the Las Vegas strip. There is some construction but still very walkable. I don’t gamble or drink so mostly wandering, taking pics and eating stuff I can’t get at home. Here for a concert anyway. Been mostly playing Dragon Quest 3 which is such a lovely nostalgic trip and a reminder of why I still prefer the core gameplay of DQ over all other RPGs.

That sounds a lot like what I'd do when I next visit Vegas. I went a couple years ago with some family over a long holiday weekend and enjoyed it, though three days is about my limit for that town lol. I did try a drink at one point, but that was pretty much it; I only drink socially, which isn't often, and not nearly enough to get hammered. I can't fathom why some people like drinking themselves silly.
I hope you enjoy your concert as well as Dragon Quest III!

Who are you seeing?

@Tyranexx Yeah I think I will museum hop next time I come out here in addition to a show. But it was kinda nice having a low stress vacation. Where I wasn’t taking off work to do work seeing a bunch of stuff. Got some good sleep. I agree about 3 days though. Vegas doesn’t feel like a real city to me. And since I don’t share many of the vices that make the town a draw it’s just kinda… there. It doesn’t feel like there is history here. Although I do want to know why someone thought the middle of a desert was a good place to put “sin city”. I will have to look that up.
I don’t know what to tell you about those that drink, it’s never been my bag. I am sensitive to the smell and taste of alcohol (splitting headache) same as I am with smoke of any kind. Currently in a war with my downstairs neighbors that smoke (in violation of their lease) because it pumps into the bathroom vent. So it was also nice to just not deal with that today as well.

@Ryu_Niiyama It's telling when my favorite thing while visiting Vegas was going on a Hoover Dam tour lol. There are some good shows depending on what one is into. I'll probably try to hit a museum or two next time too. The casinos are neat to see even if they REALLY aren't my thing, but I can't stay in them long; any kind of smoke really gets to me, plus I'm from a state that doesn't allow smoking inside public spaces. So I definitely sympathize with you about those annoying downstairs neighbors. Some interesting sights in town too, and Fremont Street can be interesting for a change of pace. But I am definitely not a gambler; we have video games to thank for that. XD
Glad you've had a low-stress vacation and some great sleep!

And given my posts are being deleted for calling out horrible people and their horrible actions, I'm going to probably just remove myself from this site permanently. Unfortunate.
Edit: For context, I effectively was lamenting how this place has a ton of people who are "anti-censorship," but only complaining about a specific thing being "censored" which outed them as dangerous towards a specific ground of defenseless people. How that's influencing me to want to leave this site, given that these people shouldn't be allowed on the platform- yet unfortunately are.
@VoidofLight Don't let some random internet debate get you too down. If you want to take a break, understandable, but I personally think you bring lots of interesting comments to this site so I hope you return. But, as always, this site is meant to be fun, so your personal enjoyment and mental health comes first.
