Topic: The Goodbye/Vacation Thread

I probably will be less active, if active at all for a while. Nintendo's February Direct is seemingly a Partner Showcase next week (more like Game Key Card Showcase), Nintendo's releasing its first published game key card in March, pricing is getting ridiculous, among many more poor decisions have made me question if I even care that much about them anymore. There's not a single new game I'm looking forward to this year (both Nintendo and not Nintendo).

I think it's good I take a break. Since there probably won't be many big announcements until June, I don't see much of a point in uselessly speculating. The fact Nintendo's already this slow for announcements that they already need a partner showcase is ridiculous. There's already a very small size of 1st party games, but looks like there will be a drought for a few more months.

Hopefully Nintendo learns their lesson after this generation. The forums for "Next Nintendo Direct?" and "Nintendo Music App" have been what I've been using mostly, so thanks for entertaining my predictions! I may stop by occasionally, but I think it's best to kind of step back while Nintendo does.

Have a nice break! I was thinking for a while now, about not buying any new games this year. Yesterday I was convinced, that I really should not buy anything. I hope you have some nice games in your backlog, or some classics from the past, which you can replay and enjoy, in the meantime.

I won't be deleting my account here, but I feel like I should take a break from Nintendo Life. I've been very busy with quite a few things, and my vacation is coming up in about a couple weeks from now... so I'll be prepping for that pretty soon. Plus... I want to try to stay away from as much negativity as I can. This might be a me problem since I'm very sensitive at times, but I can get upset if I see negativity in general. It won't be good for my mental health and productivity, so I think a break is in order.

I don't think I'll post here too much as a result, if anything. I definitely won't post during my vacay, I want to soak in all the enjoyment from that. I'm not mad at anybody here at NL, just so we're clear. Think I'll focus on stuff like my favorite hobbies while I'm free, and as mentioned before, I've been real busy with some stuff.

Please take care of yourselves, and I will do the same. For now, see you later.

@D-Star92 Take care! Negativity is pretty hard to avoid anywhere on the internet unfortunately. Or the news ... or sometimes talking to people ... But do what you need for your mental health and enjoy.

Don't worry, when I respond to your Chit-Chat reply, hopefully it will be waiting whenever you can comeback. Sometimes I wish I can reply sooner, but life gets in the way sometimes.

Still not sure how often I'll post here, part of the reason being I'll still be gearing up for my upcoming vacation next week. Think I'll be more active after my vacay... provided life doesn't hit me too hard of course, lol.

@Sunsy Yeah, I'm basically the same way. I do like posting in the "what are you playing this weekend?" articles though, and seeing what everybody is playing. The comment sections they have are a lot more tame compared to the other articles. While I am occasionally critical, I do love being positive in general... like when I talk about games/hobbies I love for example. No worries on the chit-chat thread reply. Thanks a bunch!

@D-Star92 Just now learned of your break from this forum. Sorry to hear you have been getting down lately. I can understand becoming tired of the hate, though, and wishing others can just be happy as well (I don't know if the later is you, but it can be me at times). Best thing I can say to you is to leave NL for a while. And you know what? You can always be a part of more communities that have positive people if it helps you any too.

I know of one discord I'm a part of that has two really good friends of mines. One of them an artist, mostly drawing Nintendo related things, while the other is a hobby game dev, the owner of the community, that has his discord focused on talking about gaming, his project he's working on, and journal app, integrated into the project, where users can write about and recommend games. It's an overall kind, positive and active community, and I would love to have there if you're ever interested in joining. I'm sure you would enjoy it.

@D-Star92 Indeed. I have not looked at a "What are you playing this weekend" comments section in a good while. Same, I tend to be critical over the anti-consumer stuff in gaming, such as games and consoles going up in price as it prices people out of the hobby, the practice of charging to play online multiplayer (I'm a PC guy too, lol), but never towards actually enjoying games themselves. Games are meant to be enjoyed, and it's suppose to be fun to talk about. You're welcome. I've just been busy this past week outside of going to see Hoppers with my friend.

It's time for me to say goodbye to all you lovely people on Nintendo Life... tomorrow is my flight to Florida, and I've packed everything I wanted. I even checked in my flight, and put my Switch 2 in airplane mode ahead of time, so I'm all set to go. Looking forward to seeing my family and going to places like Disney World together... this is a huge trip for me and my family, so it's no wonder I'm super excited for it!

I'll be coming back next weekend. Until that time, I won't be posting here, because I've got a vacation to enjoy. Thank you @PeterTomlan86, @Sunsy, and @Yousef- for your replies, I've been feeling quite a bit better. So...

In just a few hours, I'll be traveling to the island of O'ahu for a much needed break. I was originally supposed to go in late March, but I had to postpone since the weather was proving to be quite problematic, not just for tourists like me but for locals as well from what I've heard. Now I'm actually able to go and I am really excited.

In general, I want to disconnect from technology during my trip (with the exception of flights where I'll watch some movies), so I'm going to try to not post on here at all for the duration of my vacation. Until I leave for my flight, I'll still allow myself to post, but once I've left and until I return, I'm gone.
