@kkslider5552000 There was so much speculation leading up to Switch 2 and then there were months of reactions to Switch 2. It's definitely been quieter after most of that settled down.
@Sunsy I got single digit temperatures too... this weekend was really cold in my area. I think it got to the negatives on Saturday as well. I remember my dad would do the same thing actually, have Christmas lights on the wall, though the ones he had were larger bulbs. Probably an older model or something, the Christmas lights I've always had were thinner bulbs. I'd like to try that out sometime, maybe when I get back home from vacation.
That's cool, I've played the Spyro games as well, though most of them were via demo versions that a lot of the Crash games had. Crash Bandicoot: Warped had a demo for the first Spyro game, that's how I tried it out. It may surprise you to know this, but we also liked playing the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games on the PS2. We even had a PlayStation Underground demo disc that had demos for various games, as well as tip videos. That's cool, I forgot you mentioned playing Star Fox Zero. It's been a while since I played it so my thoughts are a bit hazy... I wonder how I would like it now. Honestly, it's been a while since I played my Wii U in general.
I love platformers so I won't mind giving those games a shot sometime. Monster Bash is pretty hard, huh? Thanks for the heads up.
All righty, that's good to hear. Do let us know what you think if you do give it a shot. It's one of my favorite Mega Man games, actually. Come to think of it, I would like to come back to the Mega Man Legends games as well... it's been a while since I played that series. I'm mainly familiar with the 2D games and the Battle Network series.

While we're on the subject of Sonic, what are everyone's favorite Sonic games (if you folks have any)? I'd say I like the Genesis games the best (Sonic 2 and 3 are my favorites of the trilogy), as well as Sonic Mania. I am admittedly old-school when it comes to the blue blur, lol.

@D-Star92, I have hardly any experience with Sonic outside of the cartoons, since I always found the games too difficult 🤣. I did play a bit of the first three on a collection from the GameCube on my family's Wii many years back, but I didn't get far. The farthest I got in a Sonic game was getting past the first two worlds in Sonic Colors Ultimate on the Switch back in 2022. I got it from the library, and thanks to the game having basically unlimited lives, it was much more easier for me. I was going to play more, but then, since it was a library game, I had to return it. Then Pokémon Violet at Christmas came up and I haven't played it since. As a matter of fact, I completely forgot about it until recently 😅. But since it is the one that I played the longest, I guess Sonic Colors Ultimate is my favorite?
Oh yeah, I also played Sonic Dash on my phone from 2022 to 2025, but uninstalled it last year, since I wasn't even touching it aside from family vacations where I don't have my Switch and Mario Kart Tour fills that gap just fine (and doesn't have ads).
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons
Mario Maker 2 Maker ID: MNH-8JB-PKG

@Nep-Nep-Freak Oh that's cool. Yeah, the Sonic games do get pretty tough the first time you'd play them... the first time I played Sonic 2, I had a difficult time getting past the rising water in Chemical Plant Zone (the second zone in the game, by the way). As for the cartoons, I used to watch Sonic SatAM on those VHS tapes I rented way back in the day, and I'd watch Sonic X every Saturday on Fox Box when it was current. While I'm not as huge into Sonic these days, I definitely was when I was in my early 10s.

@Nep-Nep-Freak Hmm. Well, it's important to remember that Sonic is a platformer, speed or no. Keep that in mind, as you'll still have those jumps you gotta slow down for.
The special stages are prob the most frustrating part. Most classic games, you have to get all special stages right in a single run of the game with no saves.
@Mariotag Ah yeah Sonic 3 & Knuckles is fantastic. I do also have a soft spot for Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, admittedly, haha. I've never played Frontiers, doesn't that play like the boost era games except it's open-world? I will confess that I'm not huge into the Sonic boost games so I'm not sure if it's for me.

@D-Star92 Those wind chills make things colder. Cool, bigger bulbs are usually older Christmas lights. I just have the standard small ones hanging. I actually put them on this past weekend just to make the room cozier while it was so cold.
Cool, I always saw Spyro and Crash as the characters for PlayStation too. My brother liked playing it too, he had Pro Skater 2 for my Dreamcast, and Pro Skater 3 on his PlayStation. I have a Game Boy Color version of Pro Skater 2 for some reason, but I did enjoy it even though I wasn't into skateboarding. That's cool, I remember seeing an ad on the demo disc included with the system for PlayStation Underground. Always thought a CD magazine was a cool futuristic thing back then. Yeah, I'll still boot up my Wii U from time to time. I don't have a lot of the Wii U Switch ports, so I'll still play the originals.
Yup, another Apogee one I just remembered is Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, it's about an alien who traveled to go to Disney World (I'm not kidding, this is really in the plot), and a comet hits Cosmo's ship forcing him to land on a planet. Cosmo goes on a platforming adventure to save his parents. Another DOS platformer. No problem, Monster Bash is hard, couldn't clear it without the included cheat sheet. It makes for a fun Halloween game.
Will do, I usually post about games I'm playing in the currently playing thread. I only know of Mega Man Legends because of a magazine, never played it.

My favorites, Sonic 1, 2, 3, CD, Spinball and Pinball Party, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Heroes, Riders and Zero Gravity, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Battle (great overlooked fighting game), the racing series (All-Stars Racing, Transformed, Team Sonic Racing, and CrossWorlds).
Probably have more I can't think of at the moment.

@D-Star92 I mean, classics are classics for a reason.
And Frontiers took me a while to get into. It can be frustrating when you're just trying to move on at times. It's got a sort of open world overworld, where you do the majority of your gameplay, and it's got the cyberspace stages that you can jump into from it.
You can pretty much change difficulty at any time, which is nice cause the OG full ending is only on hard. I'd say it lacks in some respects, but is still worth evaluating if you like or not.
@Sunsy Wind chills?
Reminds me of old summer days, the local Walmart had an Arctic Thunder arcade machine that'd blow air at you.
Never played Pinball Party. I'd want to be able to play Battle multiplayer. Advance 3 is the only Advance I don't yet have. Gonna get started on Crossworlds sometime.
@Mariotag It's a weather term, it means the wind makes things colder. For example, if the temperature is 0, and the wind makes it feel like -7, making it feel even colder if that was already cold.
Ah yes, the Asphalt 9 Arcade machine did that. I played the Aspahlt arcade machine a few times and felt the wind because of the speed.
Sonic Battle multiplayer is fun. I have multiple copies of Sonic Battle for multiplayer, I have two GBAs, and a link cable. Played it with my friend when he came to visit a few years ago. Hope you can get it some day at hopefully a reasonable price, it's my favorite of the three Advance games. CrossWorlds is fun, I still need to play it more, though I've been playing mostly classic games on Switch lately.

Just got the board game Ticket to Ride delivered today! I'm excited to try it out with my family this weekend. It's been a while since I played board games (not counting stuff like Mario Party) so this should be fun.
@Sunsy Exactly... the winds just make it feel that much colder. That's nice, cozy vibes are simply the best. ❤️ I do a similar thing where I would put on an ambience video from Cozy Vintage, one of my favorite YouTube channels, that has oldies playing in the background. They're always great to listen to, honestly. Not only do they indeed keep me cozy, but they're great for my mental health, too!
Same here, I always saw them as the PlayStation's main franchises. At least when I was a kid, I didn't know about stuff like Final Fantasy VII when I was in my single digits. That's cool, we had Pro Skater 3 and 4, and Underground 1 and 2, all for the PS2. Despite not being into skateboarding, I did like those games quite a bit. Maybe I'll get one of the remakes sometime. I think the demo disc I got was bundled with a PlayStation magazine, now that I think about it, that was cool they'd bundle those magazine issues with demo discs. That's cool, there's still some games I have yet to play on my Wii U. I still want to play Spirit Tracks (should I finish Phantom Hourglass first?) and Zack & Wiki sometime.
I'll have to try that game out sometime, thanks for telling me about it. Hopefully I can help that alien reunite with his parents and get them to Disney World.
Gotcha, from the little I played of Mega Man Legends, I do think it's pretty good. I have it downloaded on my PS3, alongside its sequel.
I do have a soft spot for Sonic CD, it was one of the first Sonic games I finished actually... albeit without the Time Stones back then. It's got some great music too, on both the Japanese and US soundtracks. I like Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 as well, those are my favorite 3D Sonic games. That reminds me, I actually played Sonic Advance 1 a few years ago for nostalgia's sake, and I do like that one, too.
@Mariotag Gotcha. I do remember seeing the cyberspace levels being ones from past Sonic games. Nice to see that the difficulty can be changed on the fly, though I am kind of worried about that "play on hard to get the full ending" thing.

@D-Star92 Hard isn't too much harder imo. Just be sure to dial it back for the free DLC included, and play on something other than Switch maybe.
There's some interesting lore about the Cyberspace stages that crops up in a small time unlockable conversation late/post game. If you want me to tell, I can.
