Don't know if anyone has been affected by the winter storm, hopefully everyone's staying warm and it's not too bad by you. I'm snowed in so ended up playing some classic games on PC and Switch.

@Sunsy, our church service ended up not happening at the actual location, but a shorter message was livestreamed on our church's YouTube channel and we did watch that. Other than that, nothing bad or different so far 😀. I'll probably be beating Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+ tomorrow, and then moving on to a new game on Switch.

The Mario movie hype will reliably confuse me, as everyone gets more excited for Yoshi to be in a 5-6/10 movie when Yoshi is regularly in 7-9/10 games.

Maybe its just movie overhype in general, OMG ITS A MOVIE THE MOST IMPORTANT TYPE OF FICTION111!!!11!

@Nep-Nep-Freak Good thing there are livestreams. That's good, over here I just got snow, but it seems to be stopping. Best of luck beating Hyperdimension Neptunia. Re;Birth1 was actually the first game I played on my then new PC years ago. Good game.

@kkslider5552000 Eh, I could care less about what critics say. I'm really happy Yoshi is in the movie, and I think people get excited because Yoshi is a beloved Mario character.

Tomorrow is birthday anniversary of my fictional character from B.A.P.D. , Don Merimo (Donovan Marquez Merimo) on 27 January.
He is the 7th member joined in B.A.P.D.

That's nice you've always played PC alongside Nintendo. I used to like PlayStation when I played my PS2 way back in the early 2000s, so I played that alongside my GBA and GameCube. Though nowadays, the newer Sony consoles like the PS5 don't really interest me... most of their newer exclusives are too realistic/movie-ish for my liking, outside of stuff like Astro Bot. I remember those two, as well... my schools had quite a few of those edutainment games/software. I remember my elementary school had stuff like Putt-Putt and Freddi Fish, too.

Ah gotcha, that's all right. I remember playing Atari Arcade Hits on a newer PC, which was meant for Windows 95/98, and the colors were all messed up. I would like to give GOG a deeper look when I get a chance... hopefully I can find some good PC classics there.

Yeah definitely, it came with some Sonic games as well. That's cool, I might have heard of Mickey's Ultimate Challenge, but I've not played it. We did have a Pinocchio game for the SNES a long time ago, though.

@D-Star92 Indeed, I stepped outside because someone shoveled the walkway where I live, but it didn't look complete. It's cold, and going to be colder as the week goes on. Looks like I'm not going for my walk this week to get milk. I usually bundle up and walk in 30-50 degree weather, but teens and single digits is too cold.

Nice, I think that's the reason why Sony's games don't interest me. I have no problem with realistic games, I'm currently playing XCOM Enemy Unknown, but they just look like movies to me. I think Astro Bot and Rachet and Clank look good, and feel like something I would play. Yes, Freddi Fish! My brother had a Freddi Fish game on Mac, and I remember it was fun. It was very similar to Pac-Man, except Freddy collected kelp seeds.

Yeah, some games get stuck with their old OS without various tweaks. I think I might have had that Atari collection at some point too. Do so, GOG does get games working, and if it's part of their preservation program, the game is guaranteed to work on a current PC.

@Sunsy Ah gotcha... guess it got too cold for them. I did do snow shoveling fairly recently as well. Indeed... my body won't be having any of this if I'm out in these temperatures. I enjoy watching it snow when I'm inside and all warm, it is pretty to look at. But going out with that kind of weather is a different story. I can't wait for spring, lol.

Yeah, I tried out one of the Uncharted games and that recent God of War game, but I didn't enjoy them. I think I would like the new Ratchet & Clank as well... but I just don't want to shell out like $500 for a PS5, only to play just a couple games on it. I already got a Switch 2 anyway, lol. Oh nice, I don't think I played that game actually... the ones I played were the point-and-click ones. That must have been a Freddi Fish spin-off of sorts.

I found a game on GOG that I'm familiar with! I used to play The Incredible Machine when I was in school years ago, and I see that they have the Mega Pack of it. It works on Windows 10 and 11, so it should work fine for me.

That's cool, I don't think I made too much progress in it, I remember liking how they did the animations and stuff like that though. I probably said this before, but that is very cool you used Sega Channel back in the day... that service was very much ahead of its time. I was too young when SC first came out, and we didn't have a Genesis back then, we just had the SNES. Much later on, I did at least play a couple games that used to be SC exclusives, namely Pulseman and Mega Man: The Wily Wars. The closest I ever got is having access to Genesis games on NSO's expansion pack.

I think I may start being on this site less in the near future. It's not because I dislike anyone here, but for a different reason.

In the article about Tomodachi Life, I stated that I am glad that the game is introducing more non-binary options, as well as having the option to not do those too. Because I think that more options are a good thing. But some people were talking about how they don't like that kind of stuff in games. And those comments were removed. So people are allowed to complain about AI usage in game development? But not non-binary content in games? That just makes no sense. Plus, someone was using the term "hate speech" without having any idea what "hate speech" actually is. All of those comments being removed for no reason (including one of mine, where I agreed with someone who was talking about the sharing of opinions) really grinds my gears. Also, I managed to read all of those comments before they were taken down, and none of them sounded like "hate speech" to me. I have made this post as nice as possible, so I really hope it isn't taken down, just so people know that I might be on the site less in the future.
