@Mana_Knight
Hehe, Secet of Mana friends are always welcome. Did you play Visions of Mana? If yes, did you like it?
@Mariotag
I tried to find them a while ago but I couldn't. But I will try again. If I find them, I will post them in the "what are you listening"-thread.
@Jhena I don't have a playstation and not a fan of playing games on Steam/PC. I made an exception for the SOM remake as was my only option. I am keeping my fingers crossed that a Switch 2 version might happen for VOM! 🤞
@Jhena I agree. So hope so. For me, it will always be more a Nintendo thing because of the original trilogy being born there and every game there after taking all thematic/world lore elements from these three. Switch is the one with The Collection of Mana game, after all!
I remember it didn’t perform well in sales, I think it was in the top 40 sales numbers article on Nintendo Life for just one week. I looked for it the following week, but it disappeared so fast and never came again. I feel like it would sell much better on the Switch 2.
Square Enix games are usually pretty awesome from what I've played, seen, and heard, so I hope Visions of Mana does get a Switch 2 release in the future.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons
Mario Maker 2 Maker ID: MNH-8JB-PKG
Switch Username: Blanc
On the note of Switch 2 editions, will I still be able to play the normal base game on Switch? I am planning to buy the digital upgrade for my physical Kirby and the Forgotten land game. If I upgrade it on my Switch 2, will I still be able to play the base version on the Switch still with the same game card? Also, if I 100% the base game of Kirby on the Switch 2, will the save data transfer over to my Switch 1 game?
Yes it should still be playable. Nintendo themselves commented on this too...
After you upgrade, the original Nintendo Switch game can still be played on Nintendo Switch, though the features and content of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition can only be played on Nintendo Switch 2.
The save data should transfer over, I've done it with NSO's save data cloud actually. I did play Tetris Effect Connected on Switch 2, brought over the virtual game card to my Switch OLED and downloaded the newer save data, and I was able to continue from where I left off.
@Pastellioli Thanks! I've been having fun with it for sure. Mario Kart World is the only Switch 2 game I have at the moment, but it's definitely been keeping me busy.
I have an idea, maybe lightly draw the background first, that might help. Yeah definitely, once you're comfortable with how you draw, it would be a good time to practice making backgrounds.
Yeah... I wanted to like painting more, but the more I did it, the more it just wasn't for me. Specifically oil painting, it feels more involved than drawing to me, and it gets messy often, too. Walnut oil, which was what I used, gets sticky as well. Ouch, that's a shame about your brushes. Oh gotcha, so they can be used in a similar way... I do still want to give actual watercolor a shot, hopefully I'll enjoy doing it more because I love how it can look.
Nice, that's cool. I've not played too much rhythm games aside from Rhythm Heaven and Dance Dance Revolution (which I only played years ago). I'm generally not a fan of fighting games, those can get really hard quickly for me. Shooters like Splatoon, Doom, and Halo, right? I do like Splatoon, and I sometimes play the other two when I'm in the mood for them. I enjoy space shooters as well, and I have a couple of them on my Switch.
On PlayStation, I shouldn't say I "lost respect for Sony," just lost interest after they changed how they make games. Just a poor choice of words on my end. I loved the PS2 back when it was around. The PS3 was all right, I do have one actually, I just liked its predecessor a lot more. Didn't get a PS4 or a PS5. The only triple-A games I really like come from Nintendo themselves. I do like stuff like indie games as well, I loved stuff like Cuphead and Celeste. Yeah definitely... this is one reason why I like Nintendo Life's community, many people here are nice and chill, and I can like whichever games/movies/music without being ridiculed for it, lol.
Yeah, it is great that many of the Switch 1's games can be played on the Switch 2, with improvements in some cases. I've also been playing New Horizons on the Switch 2, and the load times are quite a bit better. I wanna play Link's Awakening as well, it's been a while since I last finished it back in 2019. Though the frame rate drops, noticeable as they were, didn't affect my enjoyment back then.
I think I would have too, I was in my single digits when the N64 was around. Especially around that time frame you mentioned, I was into my N64 back in 1998-99. Yeah, back when Conker's Bad Fur Day was out, I've had my focus on the Game Boy Advance and GameCube. My brother and I would live with my dad back in that time too, I was without my N64. I did have my Game Boy Color if I recall correctly, and we did have the NES as well, but that's about it until I got the GBA.
That'd be cool, once you get it, we could race each other sometime. Ah gotcha... I did hear really good things about Bananza. I was gonna see a Good Vibes Gaming review of that game, but it looks like there would be some late-game stuff, so I stopped right there. What are your thoughts on Splatoon Raiders? That's another game I want to check out, especially since I do like Splatoon's story modes and DLC.
"Give yourself the gift of being joyfully you."
Playing: Mario Kart World, Disney Dreamlight Valley
Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@Jhena Link me to the thread if you do? (Or Ganon me. Idc.)
Also, still gotta finish my remaining runs of Trials of Mana before Visions. I do have the game though!
@Mana_Knight
Collection of Mana is a collection worth owning. Thanks to it, I was finally able to play and finish Mystic Quest and Trials of Mana. And you can not own too many Secet of Mana copies.
@Mariotag
Of course, I will @ you in the thread with a link to the songs, if I can find it. I will start the search today. What does "Ganon me" mean? And are you speaking about the original Trials of Mana or the remake? I think I had three or four playthroughs in the remake. It was a lot of fun and I got the platinum trophy.
@Jhena Confusingly, there is also FINAL FANTASY MYSTIC QUEST aka MYSTIC QUEST LEGEND/MYSTIC QUEST on the SNES, which is not the same game at all! Far closer to an actual Final Fantasy. @mariotag
I love it. Many people call it a baby's first RPG, which it is a way, but I have a fondness for it. They don't need to all be overly complex and time consuming.
I found my copy of SONIC MANIA for Switch. I thought it had fallen down the floorboards, but the cart had fallen into a vase. Lost that about a year ago.😁
