@Princess_Lilly Haha. It seems that way! I thought I was obsessed with yoghurt with the amount I buy, hence buying my own maker, but at least I don't use it as a comparitive reference point!
YES! I love the Mana series, but Secret of Mana is my favourite game of all time still to this day. It just means so much to me. Do you have a favourite in it?
@Mana_Knight well, yoghurt is a very healthy thing to be obsessed with. Mine is coffee, a bit less healthy in large doses, but it still beats alcohol and cigarettes, so I'm counting my blessings here
Secret of Mana is amazing. I played both the original and the remake. I think the remake of Trials of Mana was my favorite by the skin of its teeth, though. Oh and I haven't started Visions yet, I only played the demo and up until the festival (so I just passed the prologue)
Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes
@Princess_Lilly You could do a heck of a lot worse than coffee! So I wouldn't stress there! :0)
My first batch of home made yoghurt is cooking or fermenting...or whatever it is doing...at the moment! I am excited to see how it turns out.
Yes, I enjoyed the remake of SOM too! But only played it through once, compared to many many times for the original. I will do it again some day, but I am just not a PC gamer, which is the only way I have to play it. I like playing on a console really.
Thinking of getting Trinity Trigger (13 pounds on sale in E-shop now), which is meant to be very SOM inspired, even having the same composer! Have you ever played that?
@Mana_Knight
Vision of Mana available on PS4 & PS5 for the console version I can get since I have PS5 machine so I can get the game anytime.
But that game will take more than 40 GB for the installation on PS5 machine.
I don't think I will wait the Switch 2 version of Vision of Mana (even if Switch 2 version as good as PS4 version) if I can choose the PS5 version.
@Anti-Matter Thanks :0) I was aware it was on that, but I don't have a Playstation 4/5. The exclusives are not my kind of games really for the most part, so could not justify the expense. Like you, I don't really like really violent or R-rated type games, which they seem to lean on a bit more. I know you like the console for plenty of other reasons though! :0)
Wanted to randomly pop in and say hi what’s everyone up to? I kind of realized I haven’t been saying anything the past few days…
Drew again for the first time in two months. Tried using colored pencils and some ink and gosh it’s hard. There was this unused graph paper notebook that was sitting around, and I don’t know why I just envisioned drawing stuff in it and using it as a sketchbook even though I have a bunch of unfinished ones. I wanted to use some unused orange ink as a base color and then use colored pencils and layer on top, but I’m sorta not good at colored pencils compared to how I used to. Used those things a ton when I was drawing semi-realism years ago, and now I absolutely suck at using them…I actually wasted a lot of time trying to draw something, since a lot of the sketches I was making I was unsatisfied with, plus the 0.7 blue lead I was using was annoying me because of how visible it started looking after I began coloring with ink, even after I cleaned the sketch up, and it smudged so much when I was erasing. So far the drawing isn’t finished, but I am liking it so far. Hopefully I can finish it this week, but I don’t expect to get it done fast. I think I’ve started to care less about art unfortunately, and find it super frustrating even more. It’s strange, I see a bunch of people drawing on Instagram and I get inspired, and when I actually draw I lose all motivation and excitement when I realize how difficult it is. Doesn’t help I didn’t practice other fundamentals before…
Also been eating a ton of graham crackers. Forgot how good those tasted…
Well, this is it. Just wanted to do a check-up before everything changes dramatic pause fooooreeeevvver.
...
... cough anyway...
Last month was a interesting one. First, I got my car back after having it get tuned-up twice. Then, the Switch 1 Direct happen, that was fun. And last week was my Birthday week. When I got my car back, I stayed in that area and did some shopping. I found a figure for Evac, the Transformer from the Universal Studios ride, at a good deal. In an older box and everything. One of my best friends came over to my house overnight, and we had a great time. I got some great and generous gifts; gift cards, a new razor, a neat Nintendo Power (with a Prime Hunters poster!), and a copy of Sonic Gems Collection (Gamecube) and Wario Land: Shake it!. I also saw my older brother yesterday, that was very nice. Overall, it was a good month!
Current gaming schedule:
Still working on Mario and Luigi Brothership. Currently in the fourth sea, need to get to Wayaway Island. That aside, I've actually beaten two other games! Well, kinda:
I saw credits roll in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe (3ds). I've had this game since 2023 and played a lot of it in 2024. It's a fun game when you take it slow. I've still got some post-game fights to do, so I'm not done with the game yet!
I also played the co-op campaign in Portal 2 with my friend when he came over. We played it on his ps3, and it's a great time. Crazy to think this is my first Portal experience, given the era of YouTube I grew up with as a kid. Great puzzles and writing. I might get the Companion Collection on Switch when it's on sale next.
2025 Commitments check-up:
Still working on moving out, currently trying to apply to the postal industry. Pray for me and my job search.
Gaming wise, I still got Brothership, Prime 3 and Federation Force, and etc to work on. And now, I might add Portal Companion Collection to the list of games to play. I'll get to them, I promise.
Lastly, I leave you with this: this next generation will be great! So excited to see what comes next, gaming-wise, in God's kingdom, and in my personal life! Also, I'm currently in my April's Fools Day icon, which is Niko from Oneshot in their April's Fools Day appearance (probably will change it soon, have an idea about what to have next). Actually got one of my friends today, made him think I got a copy of Rhythm Heaven Fever for $10. Good times.
Love y'all, and God bless!
Note: okay, I got this out on April 2, sue me. Oh well, bye.
Yeah, I'm guessing the character I got the idea from was a slight power fantasy. It is sorta upsetting to realize, no, they usually don't have that level of power with transformation.
Nekomata Sakura is an older Halloween unit. I've got a bunch of units myself though, no thanks to the RNG...
Yeahh, my art isn't good enough to have a style as of yet. And yeah! I appreciate some of those fandoms for their creations.
Yeah, Fire Emblem has war in it. FE3H absolutely had its classes. The point being, you had to pick between them. FE Fates, but without the other stories being paid DLC. And yeah. When there are too many characters, a story tends to suffer. I still somewhat remember Naruto suffering from that, especially the anime in later Shippuden. 50+ named characters, and whoever was making it seemed to want multi part dream sequences for each??! Lord have mercy!
Your story ideas sound neat though!
@Mariotag now that I think about it, I haven’t really seen any kitsune in media with transforming/shapeshifting abilities, which is kind of disappointing now that I think about it. I assume it’s an aspect of kitsune that isn’t well-known or talked about, because they seem to exclude it almost all the time.
Oh, so that’s why I don’t know much about that unit. I started FEH around three years ago, mainly because I was playing Three Hopes and finished my playthrough if it, so I definitely missed out on a lot of units in FEH.
I have been kind of trying to draw a few days ago, but it’s been hard and frustrating to have my drawing look like how I imagined it. I’m already thinking of scrapping the art already…maybe it wasn’t time for me to draw yet because it’s still frustrating, and I still feel uncreative.
I didn’t know Naruto had that many characters at one point. Yeah, my one Greek story idea sounds like it suffered from having too many characters, plus I wasn’t actually having fun writing the main character at all. It’s really funny how I had way more fun writing the lesser important characters than the main character. And thanks! I definitely want to go back to those, but changing them up a bit.
It has…it started badly and now it seems to be getting kind of slightly bad, and everyone seems way more negative online though. But I try to ignore that stuff so it doesn’t bring me down, though thinking about it more and just sitting down and realizing it makes me even more sad.
“Woah-shi! It’s a double Yoshi explo-shi!” - Yoshi’s Woolly World ad, 2015
If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Flaky from Happy Tree Friends.
@Pastellioli Weirdly, the human form transformation is shown often. But not much greater than that. It's rather disappointing for me honestly.
Three Hopes? You have impressive patience. I still have my run of that to finish. Iirc I picked Dimitri? It's so slow though, and you're forced to progress. And yeah. FEH probably got Nekomata Sakura before that.
Eh. For me, art is hindered by a lack of patience. A drastic lack of it.
Naruto ended up having a war arc, yeah. Seems popular for some major series to do that. And the Naruto anime has a....reputation for having filler. First series, maybe a bit more than a third of the episodes were? Largely after a certain point though. Shippuden started out more tastefully, before devolving into something far worse. And Boruto is a train wreck. Actually reading the manga as it released, while keeping tabs on the anime... They just wanted to keep the anime going, straight up. Instead, after hundreds of episodes of filler, they ended o=it some 8-12 chapters short of the 80 chapter manga.
I...need to look back to see what that last part was a reply to.
@konicstar Grats on progress!
In a funny twist, some of those games are ones I'm on myself!
I saw the initial credits for Kirby a while ago, but I need a play partner to go beyond! Federation Force is one I'm only a handful of missions into with my bro. I still need a trio for Triforce Heroes.
Bunch of other games too. Brothership was interesting. Could be frustrating at times, but was good!
I have not posted in over a month. I've been busy with real life stuff and I haven't been on. So I'd like to apologize to @MarioVillager92, @Anti-Matter, @Pastellioli, @Mariotag, and @VoidofLight for never getting to your responses. Hope you guys aren't upset about it.
Speaking of being upset, everyone who knows me here knows I'm usually a positive person. There comes a time, where I feel upset, honestly, this the time. As you guys know the Switch 2 reveal happened yesterday (or April 2 if you're reading this on Friday or something), and don't get me wrong, the games look great. Kirby's Air Ride is returning, I loved the original when I rented a long time ago. The Switch 2 left me upset in two ways.
To start, $80-$90 games, are you nuts Nintendo? I knew games were going to go up to $70, I honestly dreaded the day because I don't want to pay more for games I'm fine with the standard $50-60 price tag that's been around as long as I could remember. I did not expect the games to go up that high. $80-$90 is a lot for just one game. Honestly, I feel like I'm going to be priced out of Nintendo, and I love playing Nintendo games. I feel like I'm going to be playing my Nintendo games on Switch, Wii U, GameCube, and my previous consoles just to enjoy Nintendo games. I feel like I won't be able to play newer games at that price tag.
Second thing, game-key cards. I have no problem with downloadable games, I even buy digital games, but I also buy physical games. When I buy a physical game, the thing I like about it is having the game on the cartridge or disc itself. Not having to download anything to simply play it, maybe a patch or two, but that's about it. The idea of having a physical cartridge with just a key to download a game sounds really terrible. Again, no issue with digital games themselves, but if I buy physical, I'd like a game on the cartridge itself. I just really hate this idea.
Sorry if my post is negative, but I just had to post how I feel about the Switch 2. As a long time Nintendo fan, I'm really disappointed in Nintendo with this one. I'm not going to stop playing games, between the deals I get on PC from Steam and GOG, as well as Switch's eShop, I could still buy and enjoy games. I actually got Smurfs: Mission Vileaf on Switch for $4 thanks to a sale, so I'll still play games at least.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
I thinking of serious retiring from gaming...with the way people's mentality towards going digital and convenience. I mean...many go digital due to being lazy and finding cart-swapping a hassle. How is that an excuse?! Honestly...i;'m sticking with Blu-ray movies. With those they are much cheaper and you don't have to worry about updates or patches or anything...
I used ot love gaming since the 90's but...now I just don't wanna deal with it anymore. Especially with it getting more expensive, paying rent and stuff is more important than anything. The Switch 2 will be my last console EVER.
I sell my famous Chesapeake Tupperware.
I ACCEPT NO DEBIT CARDS!
DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
@Sunsy Your complaints are valid.
I was complaining about post-Iwata Nintendo practices at the OG Switch launch as well, what with expecting ppl to rebuy their libraries from Wii U/3ds era...all I got in response was a bunch of excuses.
They've gotten greedy. There's no getting around that. Not just the game prices, but the everything prices. I half-expect them to reprice switch online at that.
The hopeful side of me thinks they're just testing the waters though, and will lower to reasonable prices before long, hence the June launch.
@DanijoEX-The-Kumiho I'm not that nihilistic, but I will ask about your pfp, and what a Kumio is.
I personally like kitsune.
Oh, and yes, I do find cart/disc swapping a hassle. But, storage space is a concern too. And arguably, the swapping being a hassle is more a consequence of there being that many more games to enjoy...many of them digital only.
