@Mariotag Yeah, last time I used Crunchyroll was two months ago but I haven’t used it. Really bad ads ruined the experience. It definitely didn’t help when I watched it late at night and had to wait for the episodes to start, cuz then I would sometimes get sleepy and fall asleep when the ads ran for too long.
Love drawing a ton, I’ve been doing it more and sharing it, but I get the occasional art block and drawings can take me super long to do since I draw in ballpoint pen.
I remember they had Chaos in one of the cutscenes where all the villains defeat Sonicat the beginning of the game, but people pointed out you don’t actually encounter Chaos in the game later or fight him after that cutscene. I’ll check again just to make sure I’m not forgetting. Sometimes I can’t trust my memory a lot.
The voice cast in Bad Fur Day was really interesting and how they only had three people doing all the voices, but I wish I knew who the other voice actors/actresses in the Xbox remake voiced though. I’d assume it was the squirrels and teddy bears in the multiplayer mode, and the rest of the cast was credited as providing additional voices instead of having their roles specified. The only VA names I recognized from the remake’s credit list was another Rare employee and Fred Tatasciore, but I have no idea who they both voiced.
I’ll check that out! Thank you for reminding me. I actually forgot about that collection and the games included in it. I do remember the music changes to it though and the reactions to it.
Even though I like my Xbox a lot, I just think Microsoft stinks at managing companies and I wish they would try and refrain from purchasing more studios and just working with the ones they have and trying to improve them. I heard about the Sony Kadokawa thing and the fact that Kadokawa owns several anime and game studios like Spike Chunsoft and the possibilities that some game IPs Kadokawa has could stay PlayStation exclusive if the deal happens. I found out about it on an NL article because Kadokawa owns Acquire (the studio that developed Mario & Luigi: Brothership) and the chances that they won’t work on another Mario & Luigi game if the acquisition goes through. Kadokawa has acknowledged that they were talking to Sony about being acquired, but haven’t made a deal yet, but I’ve heard a lot of opinions against the deal. It would be bad if some of the multi-platform IPs Kadokawa owns via their game studios were to be exclusive. I honestly don’t like it when a multi-platform game IP becomes exclusive to a specific console.
Last time I saw a squirrel was a few weeks ago when I went walking. There was a little squirrel that climbed up a tree nearby and was standing on top of the branch. It was a surprise to see it, since usually I mostly see squirrels at the park instead.
I just love some of the fantastical elements of FEH a ton, and it find it a lot in the shapeshifting characters. I am also a fan of mythological creatures and animals, so I absolutely love that, especially thanks to Yo-kai Watch and their depictions of various characters from Japanese mythology. I also remembered that almost all of the new characters they introduced in Book 8 could shapeshift. Two of Ratatoskr’s sisters could shapeshift (I remember one of them transforming into a bird or eagle) and Ash from one of the previous Books transformed into a cow, which I remember reading that her shapeshift form was likely based on a cow character in Norse mythology. I should add I am also a fan of some of the Norse elements they used in FEH, and how they turned some of the Norse animal characters into humans, mostly talking about Ratatoskr. In mythology, the character she’s based on was an ordinary squirrel that ran up and down a world tree and delivered messages, and I like FEH’s take on the character a lot.
@Pastellioli Neat about the FEH stuff! Yeah, I have the book 8 flying unit. Didn't know all the mythology details though. As much as I like shapeshifting, I like the idea of transformation as a power more, just cause it has more possibilities.
Interesting on the Sonic Forces details.
I simply don't have the patience for drawing.
Microsoft really does need to work on improving the studios they own, instead of destroying them, or ignoring them because muh billion dollar profits.
Sony, idk how it'll affect either industry. Gaming will arguably lose a fair bit. But anime and source material could lose far more. Kadokawa apparently owns a significant chunk of the industry. Apparently, we have some group called Kakao to blame for this.
I haven't really gone outside much in a while, for reasons I mentioned in that thread you linked.
@Mariotag Yeah, I just like the Norse theme of FEH and the fact that several characters in it are based on various creatures and figures in Norse mythology and the game’s depictions of those characters, mostly with their designs and how the characters are incorporated into the story. I find that any kind of mythology is interesting, and I enjoy fantasy stories and characters a lot. Usually, Fire Emblem is medieval-themed, though FEH has a ton more fantastical elements combined with the medieval setting of the mainline games.
That’s understandable. I love drawing but it’s also frustrating at times too. I can understand why some don’t like it. It’s sometimes too time-consuming, and a lot of stuff doesn’t turn out how I want it too. Plus, it can sometimes be expensive to get into and finding the right materials that work. I’m better at traditional art than digital art.
I think Microsoft is the worst when it comes to managing studios out of all the main big gaming companies out there. I think that the FTC’s scrutiny and worried during the Activision acquisition was understandable, and maybe if Microsoft did have a better history managing and buying studios, then it could have gone smoother instead. I did hear about the Sony Kadokawa thing potentially affecting the anime/manga industry more than gaming, especially since Sony is kind of big in the anime industry, but no one knows if the acquisition is going to go through at all.

My main problem with art is I don't have the patience.
Microsoft likely is the worst at managing studios. They deserve the scrutiny.
Sony already owns the biggest anime streaming platform over here (Crunchyroll), as well as owned the late funimation. Kadokawa owns a large chunk of the industry, which would belong to Sony if it happens. I think it's likely the acquisition will happen, as Kadokawa approached Sony, seemingly out of desperation.
I used to not really like mythology. I personally hate the story of Medusa, and petrification in general.
Eventually though, I did come to enjoy fantasy in general. My current big likes are kitsune, dragons, and transformation.
Even classic FE had the manaketes to be fair.
@Mariotag Microsoft could have maybe had that deal go smoother had they actually managed studios well and didn’t just purchase so many. I think that big ZeniMax purchase that came with Bethesda and a ton of their subsidiaries was probably a factor in why the FTC scrutinized Microsoft a lot during the Activision Blizzard acquisition, but, even as an Xbox user, I think the FTC’s concerns made plenty of sense. I kept up with some of it, and I remember how they tried to make themselves look like underdogs at one point during that since Xboxes sell the worst out of the main three consoles. I think they likely said that so that the Activision acquisition could go by easier since the FTC was giving them trouble (plus Sony shared concerns over Activision games being exclusive) but the thing is, Microsoft is a well-known and successful billion-dollar company and has more than 20 game subsidiaries under their helm and I don’t know how that would make them an underdog.
I forgot that they own Crunchyroll and then acquired Funimation and its anime library before shutting the service down and putting Funimation’s licensed animes on Crunchyroll. I have seen more concerns over the anime industry more than the gaming industry, and given that they have Crunchyroll and the fact that Kadokawa is big, it makes sense. I do wonder what will happen if the acquisition does go through, and if Sony will do some things differently than expected.
I will say that I also like fantasy a bit more than mythology. I find some stories in mythology are interesting, especially Norse and Japanese myths, but I think that shows, films, and games that put their own unique spin or takes on mythological stories and characters make them interesting. It makes the stories feel a bit more fresher and creative. I like fantastical and magical animals in mythology the most, one notable example I can think of is the tanuki from Japanese mythology. I do find myself liking fantasy media the most. It’s just so interesting and really creative.

@Pastellioli Yeahhh, Sony screwed over Funimation people when they merged it with Crunchyroll. Far fewer dubs now. I'm concerned how it'll go too.
Fantasy is just awesome. One thing I'm hoping for for the future of gaming is this "Full Dive" tech you see in anime like SAO, Bofuri, and Shangri-La Frontier. It'd be amazing to, for example, have a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game where you are the Pokemon, in more senses than just perception. As SAO put it, to fly through the sky on your very own wings.
I personally prefer kitsune to tanuki.
Oh wow, I forgot about Sony's "concerns" that because Call of Duty made up soooo much of their profits, Microsoft purchasing Activision Blizzard would be a lopsided proposition or something. Yeah, Microsoft just sucks at managing studios. They are NOT the underdogs, nor are they likely to ever be. Also, I used to play Xbox a bunch. Kinda fell out of it.
To use spoiler tags, you have to put the word spoiler inside square brackets at the start of a text, and then place /spoiler in square brackets at the end of a text, and then a spoiler tag should show up and cover up the text. The forum I linked does a better job of showing that.
@Mariotag I remember I used to follow anime news quite a bit on YouTube (despite not really watching much at the time) and then I watched a video where Crunchyroll announced the closure of Funimation and telling Funimation’s user base to swap to Crunchyroll. I really dislike it when a big company purchases a company to have it act as a subsidiary, but then closes that studio later on and the big company takes the IPs for themselves. It reminds me a bit of Disney purchasing 20th Century Fox and getting another animation studio from the purchase, Blue Sky, but then swiftly closing the studio and taking all their film series’ and IPs.
There’s just so much to like about fantasy, it’s one of the best genres ever. I am more of a fan of games that have fantasy themes and characters than ones that are sci-fi, and I also like imagining unique worlds and characters a bunch. I think that the freedom creators have when making fantasy worlds and characters is what makes me like it a ton, cuz since the worlds are fictional and not based on real life, they can make a lot of fun and interesting things in their creations. Speaking of fantasy, I also did like another Rare game called Kameo a lot, since that’s set in a fantasy world and the main character can shapeshift into various elemental animals and creatures. Though, I also like it when there is a modern setting that has fantasy elements put into it.
Yeah, and I remember Sony was also worried Microsoft would release inferior versions of CoD on PlayStation consoles so that Xbox would be more superior, but I don’t think that ever happened. Though, if only Microsoft managed studios better, then they would have had a better reputation in the gaming industry, and I still find it so nonsensical they think they are the underdogs when out of all the main three companies, they are the worst at managing game subsidiaries properly and helping them out when something is going wrong. I still do play Xbox, but I don’t think I’ve played it since September. I need to buy more games on there because I looked at my 2024 Year in Review and I pretty much played the same games over and over again.

@Pastellioli Wait, Disney purchased 20th Century Fox?? I'd heard Disney purchased Fox, but I guess never put much thought into what that meant. Yeah, it's messed up how big company purchases go these days.
I haven't touched Xbox in a while. Mostly been playing switch, and sometimes ps5. I don't really have many Xbox One games, never bothered with XSX, and my 360 is getting ooooold.
And yeah, inferior versions for Sony? Lol
Microsoft is a many billion dollar corporation. They should manage their studios better.
Understandable take on fantasy. There's plenty to like. Dunno that I've seen fantasy set in modern times in a while though, if at all. I'll need to check out Kameo. What's it for?
@Mariotag i used to play the Switch a ton, but I don’t really anymore. I seem to be missing out on a lot of good games. Last time I used it was to play Smash Ultimate and get some of the newer spirits to add to my nearly completed Spirit collection and play online, though a lot of my online Smash sessions were tough and unfun because the internet in that game is so atrocious. I used to play PlayStation alongside Nintendo consoles, but I stopped, plus we also traded our PlayStation 4. My dad has his own PS5, so he still plays PlayStation.
Me and my family used to have a 360, but traded it in for a Wii years ago. I’ve only had my Series S for nearly two years, so it’s very new, but I only really wanted an Xbox to play Rare’s games after I played and enjoyed the SNES DKC trilogy and Banjo-Kazooie on NSO, and by the time I got an Xbox, Rare didn’t have much of their legacy games on Switch and I didn’t want to wait for them to add the rest.
One example I can remember of a fantasy story set in modern times would be the Percy Jackson books, I read all of the 5 books and liked them, though there are a bunch of other spin-offs and other books set in the same universe as the Percy Jackson books. I found that it was a really good mix of fantasy and Greek mythology in a modern 2000s setting. There was a Disney+ show I watched for it when the first season was ongoing but I didn’t finish it. There are probably more examples of media that combines the modern world and fantasy elements, but I can’t quite remember.
Kameo was a pretty fun action-adventure game and I liked some of the beat ‘em’ up aspects to the combat, though there are some puzzles that you need to solve in the game to progress more, but the game offers hints when you get stuck on one. I really liked the colorful and lush environments of the game and I think they are super fitting for the game’s fantasy setting, and some of the places in the game looked beautiful. I also liked the fantasy creatures and characters, especially the animals that Kameo can shapeshift into and are fun to play as, as well as Kameo’s design.
The game’s plot wasn’t interesting or memorable though, and I thought that there was some repetition to the gameplay, and I liked playing as the elemental animals more than Kameo since she can take a lot of damage from enemies and can defeated easily (though I’m sure your supposed to play as the animals for most of the game) but it didn’t hinder my enjoyment of the game much. A lot of people thought it was a mediocre game, but I thought it was decent and good, and I liked the fantastical setting and aspects of it the most.
When you do play the game, remember to get these special fruits in the game to upgrade the abilities of the animals, because I made the bad decision of not collecting a lot of fruit and it made the final boss battle long and difficult to complete because the elemental animals were weaker and under leveled.
@Pastellioli Ahh. Smash Ultimate. The game in the series I played for just a bit, then never went back to. I'm still interested in playing it mind you, just have so much else I wanna play. The big downside of digital libraries right there, DRM aside. I never really traded consoles in. The few times I got rid of a console or handheld, it was to a family member or friend.
I do need to play more Rare Replay, there's just that pesky Halo 5 in the way.
I've actually read the original Percy Jackson books. As well as the first set of direct sequels, and part of the third set. So I'm aware of a lot of that. Never could get Disney Plus to work, so missing out on the TV show.
Kameo would probably interest me more in terms of design than gameplay then. There are other games that feature shapeshifting I could get into at least. I'll keep it in mind though.
@Mariotag loved Smash Ultimate a lot and it’s maybe my most favorite fighting game of all time. It’s super grand and I love the presentation of it, though I wonder what the next Smash will look like and if they’ll have to cut down the roster a bit. I still haven’t finished the Spirit collection since I haven’t encountered all of them and how I am missing some of the DLC fighters. I do hope you have fun with it when you get onto it!
I also don’t really trade consoles in, also because most of the consoles I have because of my progress and data on the games I have. I did have good memories with the PlayStation 4, but in the final years of using that, I only really used it to play Overwatch and then just lost interest. It was sad when the game data and profile info was wiped off when it was getting traded in, but I wasn’t really playing the PlayStation at that point, so I didn’t really mind it.
Loved those books a ton. I know there were these live-action films they released before the Disney+ show, but the films only got to adapting two of five books and the films were apparently not amazing. I’ll probably try to finish watching the show at one point. There are some shows and anime that I haven’t gotten onto watching or finishing.
Yeah, it had nice designs and the fantasy theme and characters are nice, it’s that the gameplay is sometimes repetitive and the elemental animal characters were more fun to play as than Kameo. I still thought it was decent and far from mediocre like most reviews said. Rare’s games definitely had a lot of interesting themes and settings, and I do wish that some of their other games did have a similar fantasy setting like Kameo.
EDIT: Also, I saw that they just updated FEH and added Book 9. I’m playing through it but since it’s new I’ll refrain from talking about what it is centered on.
@Pastellioli I..saw both PJO films... To be blunt, while decent action films, they were quite unfaithful, and the choices of actors was a mess. They actually killed off one dude who was supposed to be part of the entire saga, in the first movie, so when they released a second, he just randomly came back, only to die again. If that gives you an idea how the movies were anyway...
I ended up transferring all my ps4 data to ps5, so I was okay with selling my ps4. But that transfer took like, a solid month, during which nobody could really do anything online.
I'll need to look uo Kameo. And I just finished the first chapter of book 9. Haven't started chapter 2 yet.
Smash Ultimate would have been a dream when I had people to play with. These days though, I'm back to mostly playing on my lonesome. I'll admit, that was one thing Wii U did not inspire by having one special controller per console. Local multiplayer. We could smash Ult sometime?
Reminds me of how Jurassic Park kind of did something similar.
The novel kills off a side character… but the movie makes that character hot survive, and he becomes popular enough to star in a sequel… But to make a sequel they first need a second novel to base it on.
Writer then makes sequel novel, where the previously dead character makes sure to mention he just looked dead. It’s your fault for assuming the narrator was right.
(Edit: And it’s doubly funny now that I think about this whole thing, because it happens twice! One of the main characters that survives in the first book, becomes a side character that dies in the movie, so then the second book clarifies he is now dead)
Thanksgiving dinner went well, also got my Christmas shopping done. All that's left is waiting until Christmas, been listening to Christmas music and playing some games. Started playing Princess Peach Showtime again, wish I played it more since I really do like the game. Voted for it in this year's Game Awards.
@Sunsy I'm absolutely curious about the DS Diddy Kong Racing, and how different it was.
I've not seen that many people out there who 100% cleared Sonic 06. And yeah. Mephiles, although his hands-off logic is somewhat flawed, is absolutely an awesome villain.
I never knew the original Wizard of Oz had a sequel. I did see the prequel though!
Diddy Kong Racing DS did have some different stuff in it. One that sticks out is getting a boost using the touch screen. It's been a while since I've last played it. Should charge up my 3DS and give it a go again.
It's not exactly a sequel, it's like a sequel. A studio actually made an animated adaptation where Dorthy returns to Oz because Oz is in danger from the brother of the Wicked Witch, The Jester. It has nothing to do with the famous 1939 movie, aside from the usual Oz characters from the books.
@Sunsy I did thanks. Normally I get alerts for quotes as well. I didn't change any settings, but it's possible I accidentally deactivated the notification at some point without realizing it. That or you edited in your response later. I don't think alerts sometimes trigger in that scenario. Ah well. That's in the past now lol.
I would try that clam sauce. Something about the taste of Alfredo doesn't sit right with me. You think it would since it's dairy based, and I like many forms of dairy. I'm not sure if it's a seasoning used in it or what. Anything with tomatoes always works for me though.
I'm glad Sonic Adventure 2 was an improvement over the first game. Hopefully that also means in the voice acting department, if it was used lol.
That's why I try not to edit in replies, usually the notification doesn't go out. Often times with these longer replies I copy and paste my response into a notepad document just so I don't lose anything and it gets posted in one go (also 502 errors, they scare me after I type a big response, lol).
That's fine. Actually had to use up tomato sauce earlier this week. Last week I made some homemade pizza, and needed to use up the sauce before it goes bad. So made some English muffin pizzas for lunch and some pasta one night for dinner. That's the downside to jar sauce, you have to use it up or it goes bad.
Indeed, I think voice acting in Sonic games have gotten better over the years. Even if the characters will sometimes say something cheesy, lol.
@Sunsy Yeah, I feel like the game maybe could have run better on other platforms. I heard about that infinite jump Knuckles glitch being the most notable part of the WiiU game and speed runners using that glitch to beat the game in a short period of time haha.
Yep, Playtonic has a lot of Rare developers working there. In fact, a lot of Rare employees started a ton of their own companies besides Playtonic, but the latter is the most notable alongside Free Radical Design (notable for making the TimeSplitters games). Rare had a lot of issues during the 2000s after being bought by a huge company and splitting off from Nintendo, and luckily it appears to have gotten better, but reports said that development on their next game, Everwild, wasn’t going well, and that sucks a ton, even though I don’t really play their newer 2010s games or Sea of Thieves.
I also saw you were talking a bit about DKR a bit! It is cool that they were intending to use the rest of the game’s cast for their own games, and some Rare employees have talked about them a bit, but the only one that they talked about the most was Timber’s game, and I think NL made an article on that a few years ago; in his game, he was supposed to be a time traveler, and the gameplay was supposed to be similar to Ocarina of Time. For some of the characters, Rare did comment on what they were doing after DKR (besides Banjo and Conker) of course, but I cannot remember most of it because it’s been a few years. I know that Rare said that Bumper was serving time in jail (I am not kidding when I say this) and Timber grew a beard I think? I need to reread that again because it’s been far too long since I found out that information.
I found Rock-a-Doodle more lighthearted than All Dogs Go to Heaven and NIMH, but there were a few parts of Rock-a-Doodle that were dark, like the antagonist being scary, having a threatening voice and presence toward the main characters and farm animals, and that part of the film where he and his men gather around the farm animals and sing as they prepare to eat them after the flashlight runs out of batteries, and you are right about the sun never going up and it being night all the time. I still haven’t gotten around to watching Anastasia… If you do want to watch it, Rock-a-Doodle is currently available on YouTube Movies as a “free with ads” movie. That’s where I watched it and Bluth’s other movies recently.
I have seen a lot of great art reels, plus some that have super helpful tips and tricks for art. I know the most popular art reels on Instagram are mainly ones that show someone drawing or someone showing their art setup. I only just post images too, but it seems like that reels are the only fast way to get popular, unless your lucky and the algorithm pushes your pictures a lot and a ton of people find it. I’ve heard a lot of artists expressing their disdain for reels a lot, and how they feel it’s the only way for them to stay relevant. Most of the time, I see reels get way more likes than photos on a person’s account. However, I’m not really bothered by how not many people like or see my posts, I was obsessed with trying to record reels and get attention, but the one now deleted reel I posted only managed to get a few views and likes (plus I kind of was embarrassed by the video I posted because of its bad quality and obvious cuts) and I realized that it wasn’t worth it to try and make reels while tiring myself out if my reels wouldn’t get noticed a ton. I’ll probably try reels again, but not anytime soon. I’m not bothered if I’m unpopular, if only a few people see my artwork, it’s fine and makes me content anyway
I still remember the day I found out someone speedran the game, I just though "wow, people really speed through Sonic games," lol. I only tried the glitch once and then it got patched out with the update. Though the updated did fix the game's other problems too. Playing Sonic Boom with the update just boils down to "do I like this game or not," rather than "look how buggy this is."
Oh wow, I didn't know some of them went to work with the TimeSplitters developers. I wasn't even aware they were working on a game called Everwild, Sea of Thieves is the only one I knew because of Microsoft promoting it during their showcases (despite not owning an Xbox, I watch them for PC stuff). Sucks things haven't been well for Rare since the Microsoft buyout.
Yeah, I like Diddy Kong Racing, both original and DS. I must have missed that article, even if I don't post to the forum, I'm usually here every day looking at the latest news and articles. That actually does sound like a cool premise for a Timber game, I could picture Timber time traveling. Oh no, poor Bumper in jail, that actually made me laugh. Will admit, I did like Pipsy a lot as a kid and would always main her in the game. She was just cute with her bow, a sailor shirt, and squeaky voice.
Alrighty, I'll have to give it a watch one day, maybe after Christmas since I'm trying to enjoy some Christmas movies lately (watched Home Alone and All I Want For Christmas Is You recently, yes, they made an animated Christmas movie inspired by the song). It's been years since I've watched Rock-A-Doodle, didn't know it was one of YouTube's free with ads movies.
Yeah I'm not too worried about being popular on Instagram, honestly, I think getting popular would lead to making social media stressful. In a "I have to do this to retain my audience" kind of way. I find doing stuff more for fun and not worrying about it is the way to go. I'll draw stuff I like and post it to Instagram, but I'm not expecting it to blow up. Though it is fun when the official Trolls account does find my Trolls art. It's cool the person running the account loves looking at fan art. Videos can be hard to make if you don't have the right setup or know how to edit properly, which is why I don't bother with them. I have tried making a short video before, and it's difficult to do. Have to prop up the phone which can be hard, have good lighting, it's not easy to get it right.
@Sunsy I did see Trolls and I enjoyed it. Went ahead and told you about it in the movie thread. I already love Poppy and how sweet and positive she is! I wanna see Band Together at some point, I'll let you know what I think when I see it. On a movie-related note, I also saw The Polar Express, which I also enjoyed.
That's cool you have that Trolls headband. Those all sound nice. The last time I dressed up for Halloween, it was a Luigi costume. I had a Mario costume on a few times in the past, too. But yeah, I haven't been dressing up in costumes in a long time, especially since trick-or-treaters just don't come around my area.
I remember seeing those Satellaview Mario games, I think I saw a video on one of them a long time ago. Been fascinated by Sega Channel as well, there's been new VHS rips of it put on YouTube which I've been seeing. As someone who was too young at the time and our family only having the SNES, it is cool to see how it worked. I do like how it gave you stuff like tips while your game downloads.
That's cool, yeah there's just something about having stuff like movies in the background while you're playing games. I do really like the Nintendo Music app too. I've been having the Toy Day theme from Animal Crossing: New Horizons playing in the background while decorating my Christmas tree and putting together my train set! I just wish that Nintendo Music didn't have that startup issue for me, where it would hang on the loading screen until I close the app and start it again. I think it's been happening less as time goes on, though. If it helps to know, I'm an Android user.
Nice, that's cool. Gosh, I just remembered something, I used to have a demo disc for my PS2 way back in the day! It came with a PlayStation magazine, I think it was called PlayStation Underground? It had stuff like game demos (for games like Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder), trailers, and tip videos. I remember that some PS1 Crash games (like Crash Bandicoot: Warped) had demos for Spyro games, as well.
Oh that's cool, didn't know Wolfenstein came out before Doom. I don't think I've heard of the Blake Stone games, they do sound pretty cool. I think the closest thing I played was GoldenEye 007, I played a fair amount of it on NSO.
Nice, glad you got to try out the newest Mario Party! Jamboree is really good. Cool to see the demo let you try out Peach's minigame, as well. Good to hear you had a nice time out, sounds like you got a good haul. I got a couple new ornaments, including the Mario characters one from My Nintendo. Got myself a new stocking, too.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Trolls. Now you can see why I love that little troll so much, my favorite character. The True Colors scene always gets me everytime, the build up of why Branch won't sing, Poppy turning sad and losing her color, only to have Branch sing, return her colors and his colors on top of it, I love it. Like I said it starts off silly, but has a lot of heart as the movie goes on. Hope you enjoy Trolls Band Together whenever you get to see it. Cool, that movie is a classic. Christmas related I did recently watch Home Alone and All I Want For Christmas Is You (as mentioned above, yes, they made an animated movie based on the song).
That's cool, I think I have a Mario hat somewhere. I remember getting the hat and it even came with a felt Mario mustache, lol. I still have the hat somewhere. I haven't had trick-or-treaters in years, so I still dress up for fun. Mostly a related hat or headband of sorts with matching shirt.
Yup, Sega Channel had digital manuals too. It was mostly the text from the paper manual on screen, once matched the text from a Sonic manual my brother had. I love watching those VHS rips, it takes me back to when I had Sega Channel and was playing games on the service. I also remember they had a solitaire game. While it's just a card game and no big deal, it was interestingly an exclusive game to the service and had on physical release. I think there was an exclusive Mega Man game to the service too. That and Satellaview are such interesting pieces of gaming history.
Oh wow, I did not think about searching the Nintendo Music app for any Christmas/winter themed music. I mostly decorated my tree to online Christmas radio I listen to every single year. I'm guessing that's an Android problem, I use an iPhone and the app starts fine.
I remember seeing a ad on the PlayStation demo disc my brother had, it had a trailer for PlayStation Underground. IIRC it was like a CD magazine with previews, reviews and demos. That kind of takes me back. I never had an issue/CD of PlayStation magazine. Now I think about it there was something similar to that for PC. It was called Interactive Entertainment. Learned about it last year after getting the PC classic, Jagged Alliance (turn based strategy game, think Mario + Rabbids, except on an island that you have to take back by hiring mercenaries), when I wanted to learn more about it I stumbled across a review by that magazine. It was a CD-ROM that did video reviews and previews. Everything felt so futuristic back then, the idea of a CD magazine. Now I want to look up info on PlayStation Underground to learn about it.
Yeah, Wolfenstein 3D was before Doom. Given it's a WWII FPS game, it even predates stuff like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. I like Blake Stone more than Wolfenstein 3D, mostly because of the sci-fi theme, and there's improvements to the Wolfenstein engine that makes the game look better than Wolfenstein 3D. I think I tried GoldenEye at a very old N64 store display. Always loved classic FPS games.
Indeed, I was surprised there was a demo. I wish Nintendo would just release these demos to the eShop so I can try them without going out somewhere. Indeed, that sounds like a good haul to me. I haven't gotten any new ornaments this year, so I've been using the ones I've always have. I just need to put a few more up and the tree will be done.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
