Happy Halloweeen and remember to be careful during trick or treating

Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes

@Princess_Lilly I wanna go Trick or Treating, but Covid's going around in my town and it's also snowing
Though I'm still in a costume, I have cat ears, black earrings, and a witch looking dress with stars on it, so I'm some weird cat girl/with hybrid (I was too poor to afford a costume, as you can see) cause I just tossed on what I had in my closet

@Princess_Lilly
I guess spaying isn’t necessary, but since my mom doesn’t allow animals indoors we really have no choice. And the oldest one is likely pregnant for a second time and 3 cats is enough for me. Although I have a feeling some of the new kittens will eventually convince my parents to keep them around. The male doesn’t have to be neutered, but we’re going to do it so he doesn’t run off for months looking for a mate.

And I will not accept Bulldog slander! There may be an argument to be made that they shouldn’t exist, but they are also cute.

@Princess_Lilly Oh no don't worry, whenevr I do go trick or treating I have an adult with me. I live in a dangerous neighborhood, so if I don't I'm gonna be stuffed in a white van.
Ugh I have to write an informative essay for school

@Princess_Lilly Why would you worry more? Besides, I can't go this year anyways, so nothing to worry about.

@EllaTheQueen6 well the notion that if you go out without an adult you'll be snatched is not very uplifting

@Princess_Lilly
Males do, at least according to the internet. And if that’s the case, Twix ( my cat) doesn’t get to be a father in his life.

@Princess_Lilly Well it's not guaranteed, it's like, a 10-20% chance I'll be tossed in the candy van if I don't have an adult with me

@EaglyBird Thanks, already started by watching Trolls and posted about it in the movie thread.

Honestly, Moon Girl sounds like something I would watch, despite not being into superheroes. I was into Powerpuff Girls, and liked them even though they were superheroes. I haven't watched Simpsons for years, aside from an old Halloween one. I haven't seen the recent stuff, but the classic episodes are great. Now I'm debating rewatching the show again casually, they're on Disney+. Your family sounds like my mom, she's not big on cartoons or animation, but she did enjoy King of the Hill because it was funny. Yeah, it's just with Family Guy, I just lost interest over time, I can't pinpoint why either. I just stopped watching one day.

Sounds like a good way of looking at it. For me, usually characters get my attention, when I watch it, I usually will find more to enjoy about something. Fun fact, I got into Trolls because I saw Poppy in a toy aisle and thought she was cute. Watching the movie made me love the character more and got me into the series, and loved the heart the first movie had. As I mentioned in the movie thread, it cheered me up after going through a rough year.

@Sunsy Funnily enough, other than a VERY OLD Mac/Apple computer my grade school had that took floppy discs, most of my early computer exposure was on PC/Windows. A lot of those games were edutainment games, such as early Maxis/SIM games (SIM ANT, SIM TOWN, SIM FARM, etc.), the various Oregon Trail titles, and different types of games related to Jump Start, Reader Rabbit, or Carmen Sandiego. Gizmos and Gadgets was another good one. And then there were the poor one-off games that were best left in the cereal boxes they came from. XD

@Tyranexx I remember my grade school had old Macs and even older Apple stuff. The Sim games were great, I played Sim City 2000 and Sim City Classic when I was a kid. Still have Sim City 2000 thanks to GOG. I use to play The Oregon Trail games as well, also the Muncher games. Let's be real, it was the excuse to play a video game in class, lol.

That reminds me, I had a teacher who banned SimCity from the classroom Mac. I could laugh now, because that game ended up being more educational than she thought replaying it after getting it from GOG, lol. My guess is because the SNES port existed, so therefore it was a "video game."

I remember cereal box games. I once got a copy of Lego Creator that way. Probably one of the better games to get out of a cereal box, lol.

@Sunsy I think few people passed on playing video games during class lol. I've played the Oregon Trail games up through the third one I believe. As great as the SIM City games are however, I've never played those. The closest would be SIM Town, which was a more kid-friendly equivalent.

A lot of those SIM games could be used for learning in the right environment IMO. My favorite was SIM ANT. I learned a lot about the insect from that game. Last I knew it was still playable on Internet Archive.

Most cereal box games were junk, but there was actually a decent (for the time) PC version of Clue that I remember fondly.

I would just like to point out that my middle school history teacher threatened to lower a kids grade if he couldn’t kill enough Buffalo when playing the Oregon trail.

I loved that teacher.
