@blindsquarel one thing I feel like I should say, I know how excited you were for the launch and how you enjoy the game. I wasn't trying to spoil you or anyone's fun, I actually firmly believe that video games, or any other forms of entertainment are to be enjoyed by everyone the way they want to. In the past I was often bullied and bashed for liking video games, and I hated the fact that people would say that my hobby is worthless/useless/waste of time just because they enjoyed something else.

I started enjoying video games before the major western AAA titles became what they are today. I enjoyed Spyro and Ratchet from Insomniac, I loved the 90s and 00s games, but over time, I started feeling like they were lacking. That I wasn't enjoying them as much as I used to, and that playing new titles started feeling like I was actually wasting my time. It started in 2009 - 2010 I believe. It was when the market settled and the idea of a western AAA was solidified.

The one thing I remember is playing Assassin's Creed in Rome (don't remember the title) and getting sick of it. And then I tried Revelations and it felt like a chore. It didn't feel like fun anymore. the games the West produced were not good anymore. It was news to me because I still remembered Morrowind, Myst and some other fantastic games I played, some of them being older than me.

So I sometimes find myself saying the same thing I hated, I don't know why, I think it's subconscious. I end up trying to force something upon people by recommending them the same games knowing they would never play them because it's not their cup of tea. I said it yesterday, and even though it might sound empty, I'm working on it

A gatcha is pretty much like those capsule machines, but instead of getting little toys you get characters. And gatcha I’m pretty sure is a Japanese capsule or prize game.

Biggest mistake of my life, people were ignoring the fact that it was incorrectly rated and overall a bad game because apparantly GTA, which has an appropriate rating and such, was far worse somehow
Love how the chit-chat thread is so calm but the comments are just a battlefield

I would take that as a dare but I haven't played either games, and despite me having no plans to play them I don't want spoilers because I'm weird

I'm planning to get a PS5 next year.

Once I pay off my credit card next month (would've been sooner but I gave in and bought Super Mario Bros. Wonder so that's a couple more weeks added), my plan is to withdraw $20 from my bank account once a week and put it in my fireproof safe for a whole year (which at the end of 2024 will be $1,040)

This is the biggest factor in these threads/articles. I noticed that I had to explain to people MULTIPLE times that I put "For me, for myself, my experience" in most of my posts.

Otherwise, if you put information like that "Mario is better than Spider-Man" you will get angry people, but if you say "I get more enjoyment from a Mario game than from Spider-Man game" you clearly do not try to say it like it is a fact.

@Zuljaras yeah, I mean I just wanted to say that in my opinion one of these two games is not a masterpiece (because I dont think a game that isnt truly revolutionary should be called like that in a willy nilly manner) but it kinda looked like I was attacking someone

Even though to be honest I am pretty mad that western AAAs - a very niche group of games for a very specific type of gamers - is held on the pedestal by the media, and everything else is maliciously omitted. Its like every major Western vg outlet just became an advertisment engine.

The title I bashed on probably didnt deserve it though

Amazing yes, masterpiece is just another category for timeless games that will never be forgotten

For me a masterpieces are Half-Life, StarCraft: Broodwar, WarCraft III, Castlevania SotN, Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

And you can see how subjective that is and I am sure many people will not agree on this list

@EaglyBird My brother ran away (long story) and I dunno if he'll be here on Halloween. It's on a Tuesday so at least I get to hang out with my classmates
