@Sunsy Well, I can totally understand it. Nightmare Before Christmas is highly stylized and not everyone likes it. I for one love it, but I know someone who doesn't even want to look at the screen when I watch it every year.
Bats, was it that episode when Fluttershy became a vampire and the rest had to catch her? She looked so adorably!
Shopping center and coffee shop sounds like a perfect finish for a week. I had such an exhausting week, and I overworked myself so badly on Friday, I can feel myself slowly regenerating through the saturday. Wouldn't go to the cafe if they offered me a pony. But I got some wheat coffee and it's a heavenly combination with milk!
Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes
Busy busy BUSY. Haunted house season is in full swing and we got slammed last night thanks to Friday the 13th and the horror character themed special event we had going for it. Now playing catch-up at home until round 2 this evening.
@Sunsy Yep, plus making anything really elaborate seems to require using a lot of different dishes and containers. Some ingredients are also either expensive and/or hard to find where I live unless I travel somewhat far. At that point I'd rather just buy something lol.
What Halloween specials are you into? I like the classic "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", but that's about the extent of what I get to. I play a couple of scarier themed games sometimes, but other than a short VN I've played before, not much this year.
@MarioLover92 Anything resembling snow is an extreme rarity in Florida IIRC, whereas California does get snow in higher elevation areas. None near Disneyland of course! XD The Haunted Mansion is what's classified as a dark ride, basically a slow-moving (Well, usually) indoor ride that contains animations, sounds, special effects, and almost always some type of theme. They don't even need to be scary; some are quite adventurous, and "tunnels of love" are the same concept. I'd LOVE to go to Super Nintendo World, though sadly the Japanese original is out of reach for now. California is...somewhat doable, but I'm waiting for Universal Orlando to receive an equivalent too. I'd prefer more rides too, but even the experience (expensive as it'll be I'm sure) will be worth it already for fans IMO.
Acting in the haunted house is probably the closest I can get to around here with improv acting, not to mention cosplay in a sense (though more scary/entertainment stuff). That said, one of our new recruits this year actually does dress up for conventions and has made a couple costumes. We had a special horror icon themed event yesterday for Friday the 13th, which included video game baddies as well. This recruit had an amazing homemade Pyramid Head costume! We also had a Clicker and I think a character related to Dying Light (not familiar with this game at all TBH).
@blindsquarel So yeah, I heard Peter dies but Venom(?) brings him back to life(?) but he makes Miles the new "Spider-Man" so he can live a "normal" life
That's all I know besides seeing a weird lookin' suit (idk the name of it)
@Princess_Lilly Indeed, thanks for not ripping into me for it, I know some may do that, at least elsewhere anyway.
Yup, that's the one! Watched it last night. Though my personal favorite is Scare Master. I love how Fluttershy pretty much scares everyone.
Hope you're getting your much needed break today. Sounds nice with the coffee.
@Tyranexx I enjoy stuff like that actually, though I can't really watch any Peanuts specials aside from A Charlie Brown Christmas on DVD. I like Halloween episodes of my favorite cartoons, one I mentioned above is from My Little Pony. I saw a new Halloween episode from Alice's Wonderland Bakery last night. That sort of stuff. I'm not big on scary, but I do like playing a few zombie themed games like House of the Dead, and I have a classic PC game called Monster Bash.
Which is ironic, considering I've played the Higurashi games on PC. Maybe it wasn't as scary because it's a kinetic visual novel and is mostly text.
@Moffo At least we have spoiler tags, try social media. My most anticipated movie was released over a month early in other countries yesterday, and I have to be on edge when being online.
Yeah, when are studios and game publishers gonna learn to release stuff worldwide same day?
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
Loved the eclipse. Except the part where I didn’t plug my camera battery in all the way so I got a few awful smartphone pics before I gave up and just observed normally (with my telescope and filter). I defo gotta save up for a solar scope. But glad I got to add another rare (without traveling) observation to my history.

@Kermit1
It has been interesting. Today started of solid, had a good hike and got in a herd of elk, but there were no spikes so we couldn’t take a shot at any. Then we decided that we would just try to drop down into our camp from the spot we were in. Little did we know that it would take all day and go across multiple different mountains. Plus the last 2 hours were through a ton of deadwood. Needless to say, I am very sore right now.
