Sonic Adventure 2 may not be a game I really like, but that final boss and ending was amazing.

Bwahahahaha, I got the Resident Evil 4 Remake, and reached the point where the game introduced the first collectable figurine (it’s a thing these games have, a figurine that makes a noise, and you can find them and destroy them to unlock some bonus).

The ones in this game make a clockwork type of noise, but even after destroying it I kept hearing a tic tic tic tic somewhere, and kept looking around trying to find a second figurine.

It was a maniac with a chainsaw walking right up to me.

Haha, well played game, well played.

Bloop.

I know for a fact you can beat Mario Odyssey within that amount of time. I did it in 3.5 hours once after deciding to speed run the game 2 kingdoms in.

Sonic Forces also can be beaten in 2-3 hours without speed running.

@Snatcher yeah lmao

@blindsquarel Hm, maybe I could do odyssey

Definitely not forces though, forces is a terrible game that just plays itself for you

Yeah, I could definitely see why you don’t like Forces ( although I do think it is okay). Honestly I only mentioned it because it is the first thing I think of when short games are mentioned.

Since we're in the topic of racing games, I'd like to share some recommendations, feel free to talk to me about any of them

1. Gran Turismo - the most realistic of them all, perfect from 1 to 7. Embraces car culture like any others. Not with noise of new indie bands with balloons and crowds anywhere, it's just a quiet contemplation of the concept of automobiles and how humanity shaped them to evolve into something we love just because. A praise of invention, a love letter to machinery. I'd especially like to recommend 1, 2, 5, and 7.

2. Wipeout - seemingly the opposite side of the spectrum, not one bit realistic, super fast and fancy. The core gameplay mechanics are actually quite similar to GT. Get to know your machine, the track, utilize every trick at your disposal, and just slide in the perfect racing line. Outside, to inside, cross the apex and softly return to the outside. The last trophy called "transcendence" doesn't lie. Making a good lap on A+ speed gives you a glimpse of another universe, faster and slower at the same time. It's hard to describe. Omega Collection is up for grabs

3. Forza Horizon 2, Test Drive Unlimited and Motorfest - barely racing games anymore, all of them clustered together for one simple reason - these are road games, journey games. They give you a bit of the world to explore and wonder upon. The racing is just for having new cars. Whether it's O'ahu or southern France/Italy, it just gives you the vibes. The longing for something you never thought you wanted, the aesthetics that stay with you. Forza Horizons (especially the newer ones) and Motorfest have this "homie vibes" for extroverts, but if you look past through them, there are gold in them hills.

I especially loved the stories told in one of the first chapters of Motorfest, telling you about the lore, the legends and myths of the island, the Lono who created the island, Maui (Moanna wasn't a made up story, it has roots in real lore) and quick tempered goddes of the volcano (whose name I just forgot now).

4. Mario Kart Double Dash - we need a kart game on this list and there is no better entry than this. Even the mighty Crash Team Racing which defeated Mario Kart franchise and took the crown for a couple of years can't compare to the pure joy of what MKDD is.

5. Forza Motorsport 2, 3 and 4 - the only good entries of the series, less focused on car culture and more on actual sport. Pretty realistic control (not as much as GT), tons of cars, just pure fun of making better times.

On the scale of realism, I'd put:
Gran turismo at about 75%,
Then Forza Motorsport, 65%,
Forza Horizon 50%,
Road games 30 - 5%
Wipeout - <indescriptible> %

The Cooking Battles in the game require some of your Math skills by calculating the flavors in numbers.

I personally have the opposite thought about racing games.
I never like realistic racing games like Forza, Gran Turismo, etc because they are damn boring.
I have ever for once forcing myself trying Midnite tunes racing game on arcade and it was so damn boring.
It just driving the car as smooth as possible, without bumping on something.
What so interesting to drive as smooth as possible without the drama by smack the items onto opponents ?
I never understand this.
That's why I only like the Mario Kart style games for racing games.
I want something cartoonish, not the realistic graphics.
I felt really indifferent to see the realistic graphics.
I never like ultra realistic graphics that draining tons of GB size on storage.
No cartoon, No items to smack onto opponents = No buy, No play.
I think Race with Ryan was one of cartoonish racing game I like with almost same button settings as Mario Kart games.

@Princess_Lilly you didn't included Burnout, Motorstorm or any old Need For Speed games? Why? You'll get a lot of fun if you play them.
If we talk about MS's racing games, I prefer PGR instead of Forza series cause it have a lot of tracks from many countries, not just one region.

@Anti-Matter for me Forza and Gran Turismo is pretty boring games, but racing games can be great even without cartoon style or any items. For example, Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge looks good, have the one of the best soundtracks of all time. You can hit your opponents with your own car and see how it crashed beautifully. And it's a very speedy games.

And if we talk about cartoonish racing game, I like Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

And yet Nintendo still haven't make their new Mario Kart games with something unique from 3rd party developers already have such as All Stars Racing Transformed, Skylanders Superchargers, Modnation (belong to Sony, oops... )

Oh, btw. Driving in very high speed really give me PTSD as I really scared with high speed even in my real life, riding a motorbike as passenger behind with speed 30 - 40 kph really made me scared to death. And that's why I don't play F-Zero and any racing games that really emphasize on very high speed.
I want to play with something lower speed so I can play relax without got triggered with my PTSD on high speed.

@Anti-Matter yep, they're all the same. But I prefer SEGA's characters.

Oh, I see. But maybe high speed games can help to cure this fear? What about 3D Sonic games with boost?

@Princess_Lilly The Gran Turismo one I can agree with, I've gotten the last few games and they offer a fantastic driving experience. How good 7 is depends totally on whether you've played GT Sport though, the graphics, HUD, tracks all return from that game so it's a small leap in that regard. The single player missions, game economy and the AI are also pretty poor considering what Sport offered, especially the AI, which is always 7s a lap slower, or 4s a lap quicker depending if you're leading or not.
